Always come here for the nasi goreng which is really flavoursome and filling. The service was great and they brought the meals to our table. Very cheap prices for what you get!
Authentic hawker food. Generous servings for $10 per dish. Char keuy teow and Hainanese chicken are good. Prawn mee and laksa are pretty good.
Help yourself to condiments good idea.
Lovely hawker style for your quick cheap fix of malaysian. I have been going back there for years. Even when i no longer live in ashfield. Place is in a milk bar.
This is Malaysian the way I love it. Its just like sitting in the night markets of Penang, only sitting in an old aussie/greek takeaway shop of the 70's. The food I not mind blowing but this truly authentic. Hainan chicken is Malaysian style (with sauce dribbled over the chicken), the chicken curry, the char keow, the mee goring are all rad (as you can see, I'm working through the menu - in saying that, the rendang I tasty but meat very fatty). Now all I need is a long neck of Anchor that never runs dry
Really tasty Malay food! Went on a Saturday and they serve both Hainanesse chicken w chicken rice and Nasi lemak. Curry puff and selection of sauces were all yum! Staff/chefs all lovely!
Authentic, tasty and cheap Malaysian food - from the outside it looks just like a typical fry up near the station. However walk in and you'll notice a menu offering a nice range of noodles, rice dishes and curries. We tried their chicken rice after a friend's recommendation and also the CKT, both were surprisingly good and very generous in portion size. I loved their table of condiments... Give me unlimited chilli any day of the week! :) we'll be back for sure.
This is a weekend favourite! Get down on a Saturday for the incredible Nasi Lemak. With tender rendang and a squid curry it is so tasty and satisfying. If you're lucky there may still be some curry puffs. Though they tend to run out. If you can't make it on a Saturday then I recommend the roti canai. The roti is super fluffy and hot and the curry is tangy. Every time we go here we have to get it. The service is quick but the seating is limited. For a quick, delicious Malaysian lunch at a small price ($5 for roti canai) you have to try Ashfield Cafe. They have burgers too but I can't go past the Malaysian favourites.

Fried Kway Teow - $8.70. It has the nice smoky wok flavours we love, and it's not too oily. Yum.

FANTASTIC FOOD AND SERVICE. This restaurant has been in Ashfield for years. Very large servings and at bargain prices-most about $9.Very friendly staff. All the food is cooked fresh and when I went there on a Monday for lunch, the place was full..Very tasty food.
Looks terrible, tastes great. This amazing place masquerades as your typical burger and chips joint across from the station - but don't be fooled. They do make burgers and chips and a decent egg and bacon roll, but you're really here for some of the best noodles in Sydney. These are the real deal, authentic and they taste amazing. Try something new from the menu every time you go.
The friendly guy who owns the joint also deserves your cash, he's a decent person and you don't feel bad spending your money here.
Authentic Malaysian Food for under $10. Hainan chicken rice and Nasi Lemak are specials on alternate Saturdays. Small unpretentious cafe with good selection of Malaysian favourites, worth a visit and the wait (on busy Saturdays). Favourite spot with local Malaysians.
