Great chinese food! Super wide range of dishes & all the classics from XO crab noodles to congee! The food is always super spot on with prices being extremely fair! Really recommend this eatery for real tasty chinese!

Came here as a group of 14, the crab and a bitter melon pudding we wanted were out of stock, but there were plenty others delicious options. The highlight were the fish (with dry beancurd and bitter melon), pipi with crispy rice noodles, the egg white (served with black vinegar and egg yolk) as well as a saucy chicken with mustard greens dish. The fish was cooked just right, very meaty and the black bean sauce gave the dish a nice flavour; the pipi was large and the sauce has a nice heat to it.
Overall it was an enjoyable experience, staff were super helpful, refilling tea making sure everything was okay. The price was super reasonable as well, will definitely comeback to try other dishes.

I have been here on two occasion. The food is the same quality. How ever if you came late a night they do rush you to order because there getting ready to close.
It’s open till 2 but I would get there no later then 1 if you want to enjoy your meal and not feel rushed.
The satay chicken was moist and well balanced with spice/ flavour.
The dim sims are mind blowing fresh and amazing! The best I have ever had! I can’t wait to go back and try there other things from the menu!
Came here for a catch up dinner with friends and was so happy that we took a punt on here.
The prices here are high but the servings are appropriately sized in ratio with said prices. The food is also very tasty and not as oily as some other chinese I have eaten at in the past.
I have been in Sydney for nearly 3 years and this was my first chinese sit down dinner where I have actually been happy with my meal. I suppose good chinese is hard to come by if you live close to the city with no car!!
I wanted to give this 4.5 stars but no more half ratings from Zomato so Eaton, you get a rare 5 stars from me!
If you're looking for a place for supper, this will be one good choice. Would highly recommend Fried Vermicelli with Pipi.. Their staff will attend to every customers and at least some small talk. The negative side of this restaurant, it's quite pricey.
I like this restaurant because it open till late so whenever I think of eating late at night I'll definitely go this shop.

One group of diners disproportionately affected by Mike Baird's unjust Lockout Laws were chefs and other hospitality staff. With dark tanks blocking your ability to see much inside, Eaton Chinese Restaurant looks, from the outside, like a bit of a gamble. Brave the tricolour neon and you'll be rewarded with an extensive menu that rivals late-night stalwarts like Golden Century, for a fraction of the price. Of all the Chinese restaurants on this busy strip, THIS is by far my favourite. Not sure why it says $40 for two ppl in the Zomato info above though, that'd be at least what itd cost without alcohol just by myself. There's an egg and crab meat dish that's off the chain. The squid ink fried rice is a must try. The live fish is also a fave option, they ask you which fish and cook them so perfectly. I've dined at Eaton 10+ times and keep going back. Highly recommended.
Beautiful food! Saw some reviews below that doubting myself to go Eaton or not. But went to the place few times already, and will keep going. They got special mud crab cooking style and all seafood is live and fresh. The boss always hanging in the restaurant to make sure all the dish is in the quality. I have to say service is friendly. You can't expect them to service like five star hotel. It is a family business and they got special Chinese food! Isn't that should be the point, we should go? If anyone looking for fine dining restaurant, you can go anywhere to pay $60 for a course. why people paying $40 for a nice meal, you got seafood and meat but still complain the service not good as The Quay... Give a go to Eaton, order the Hong Kong Barbour style crab and XO pipi, you will give them 5.
Incredible! Just go, you will love this place. Service was actually very friendly for a Chinese restaurant, maybe it's because we were in the burbs?
Anyway, the food was that good you could have had chimpanzees serving me and I'd be happy.
Firstly the Hong Kong style mud crab was out of this world good - perfectly cooked crab,
supremely balanced sauce with just enough chili to kick the dish into overdrive - this was the
highlight.
The two kinds noodles with XO sauce was also outstanding. Again perfectly balanced, with well
thought out flavours and ingredients.
The braised eggplant with mince was also a standout.
You can really tell from the meals we ate that the people cooking this food actually really cared. The freshness of the ingredients, the presentation, the thoughtful combination of flavours, the excellent technique and skills.. You could just tell that a lot of love went into preparing our meals tonight. A truly feelgood experience, very memorable.
Eaton never fails. Had Peking Duck last visit. Really good. Also always order the XO pipis with vermicelli noodles as they are the best I have ever had. This is one of the few Chinese Restaurants in Sydney that I go back to regularly

As an Ashfield resident for over 5 years, I thought it about time I wrote a review for Eaton Chinese Restaurant. This place is set apart from the other local eateries, (for one, this place has tablecloths!), and although the ambience is not amazing, the quality of food must impress. I can say hand on heart that this place has some wonderful food, one only needs some guidance as to what to order. Experience dictates that the live seafood is a must, our favourite which we return to time and time again is the "Hong Kong Harbour style mud crab", usually a very reasonable price of around $40 per kilo, (don't forget the vermicelli noodles). Tasty, chilli and garlicy, this dish is a stand out every time. Steamed live Barramundi in ginger and soy is delicate and profound, and their xo pippis, (which get a mention in another blog) aren't the cheapest in town but highly reliable. Don't come expecting 10/10 fine dining service but the people are friendly and will do their best to please. All in all, I would say the best joint in Ashfield for live seafood, do come down and support this wonderful institution.

Quite busy on Chinese New Year’s day. Went with friends and had great combination of seafood. Lobster sashimi, abalone, pipis are all delicious. Other stir fry dishes are a bit too salty and average overall. If you come for seafood, definitely recommend!
Very welcoming! Everyone is friendly and very attentive, esp the owner himself (I think he’s the owner :) Ordered the lobster and pipi with noodles!! Not cheap but defo worth!!! I really love how they are open til 1 in the morning as well. Also, free fortune cookie and fruits!!
First time here; but a great find!
Delicious Cantonese food which we love n fresh seafood executed v well at reasonable prices. Service was good. They even serve you on white pressed table cloths!!
