What can I say but yum and the best souvlaki I've had!
The kids devoured theirs which for my fussy son, is amazing. They voted their Souvlaki's 9.5!
I had the vegetarian with gluten free bread and omg it was scrumptious!
My husband said it was the best Souvlaki his ever had!

So we went out to dinner on Friday night. Anyone who is coeliac or has a coeliac child knows how hard this can be. They use a separate gluten free paleo pita for those that are gluten free, use seperate utensils and have a seperate preparation area. Dips, chips and meat are all gluten free. Fantastic service and the food was delicious. Thank you so much for making dinner out with the family not only possible but any enjoyable and safe experience. We'll be back!!!
I have eaten in so many places but nothing as good as the flavour in the food that secret souv has, every bit of my meals was amazing, couldn't fault any thing at all!! And I guess that shows considering you guys sold out of gyro meat at 7.30 but still managed to cater for your customers until late, and not compromising on flavour or service just goes to show how good you guys are, you will do great, can't wait to be back, new favourite place ��

10/10. Easily! I saw the positive reviews and thought no way, they're too good to be true, but all the reviews are spot on! This neighborhood gem makes superb food that's great value for money and so, so, so flavoursome. I don't remember the last time I had such great tasting meat! The staff are welcoming & friendly while they find their way. Thanks for providing many gluten free/Paleo options too.

Amazing food - I was most impressed at how fresh and tender the meat in our mixed grill was. Also loved the home made pita and secret souv sauce. Will definitely be back when I'm after some quality greek again.
I thought out of all gyro restaurants in Melbourne, that the best was in Oakleigh. This has just topped the charts and such amazing service with amazing people. Would thoroughly recommend and if you don't want to go to a restaurant alone, one they wont make you feel alone but give me a call as any excuse to go here again and I'm keen.

Being a local, the question is... How does it rate against Orexi? Do I still make the drive to Oakleigh, the epicenter of all great Greek things?
I'd say the chicken, Orexi has the slight edge but the lamb is better at Secret Souv. The bread is soft, fluffy but it's the meat inside those wraps that steel the show. Somehow, the shavings if meat have been kissed by some heat source, slightly charring and caramelizing the outside and takes it to about level. Crunchy chips, your choice topped with feta or oregano rounds the meal off.
The choice now is bloody hard, to Oakleigh.. or to Secret Souv?

This small souvlaki shop situated in the middle of a residential area is the epitome of what is great about small business, run by families. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the friendly girls at the counter (who we later learned were sisters Jess and Andrea). It was a Friday night about 7.30pm and the place was full to the brim, my husband and I were hoping to dine in, but couldn’t see a table free. Jess was extremely accommodating and arranged for a table to be brought inside for us. We were given menus and told to order at the counter. We watched in awe as plates of amazing fresh ingredients were being ferried out to tables.
We were a little unsure what to order and Jess spotted us struggling so she came and asked whether we needed some help with the menu. As first timers, she suggested the Mixed Grill for 2, a selection of all their meats, paired with fresh Greek salad, pita, tzatziki and chips. We couldn’t resist a side of haloumi.
My husband asked “will it be enough food?” which Jess quickly responded: “we’re Greek, if you go home hungry, we haven’t done our job”. My husband (the jokester) was immediately impressed by her quick wit, almost as impressed as he was that they stocked a Greek beer he was yet to try, recommended by Andrea.
All the meats on the Mixed Grill were tender, juicy and full of flavor. Cooked and seasoned to perfection (my mouth is watering as I type this)… By far the best gyro, kalamakia and bifteki I have eaten outside Greece. With the generous serving, we struggled to finish it, not for lack of trying. Salad crisp, fresh pita and chips… just delicious!
Jess came around again to see how everything was, when we gushed over the delectable meal in front of us, she explained that Alex (owner and head chef) is responsible for it all, it was his passion for quality food that makes it so outstanding. We were impressed and sent our compliments to the chef.
Jess explained that Alex was her partner and Andrea was her sister and the young man cooking the pita and chips was Alex’s brother. A big fat Greek family, she joked.
Alex later came out and greeted us, as if he had known us for years. We stirred him about marrying the lovely Jess ASAP. A shop full of people and the staff were hospitable, welcoming and warm. You really do feel like you are part of the family, enjoying mouth-watering home-style flavors.
To say Secret Souv is a hidden gem, just doesn’t do it justice. Secret Souv is the secret you want to tell strangers about.

Excellent customer service. Never experienced such top quality service. Food is equally wonderful. A must have for anyone who loves Greek food! Highly recommend it.

Really delicious food, cant fault anything we had. The oregano chips were so good but I have no idea what is specifically so good about them! We had the mixed platter for 2, between three of us, and it is a generous serving! Highly recommend, and I need to go back to try everything else on the menu. Its a small, casual place, great atmos and will be back asap
I hope Secret Souv stays our little secret between me and anyone that reads this. In a tiny shopping strip in Ashwood, quick, cheap and delicious Greek food is being served up in a tiny shop that would seat no more than 20. Yum haloumi, perfect chips and the mixed platter for two is excellent value. Friendly family restaurant.

A local gem this place is. Really nice souvlaki shop hidden away. The owner is really nice and friendly and the service was quick. Had The Chicken souvlaki which had a bit of a twist from the traditional souvlaki and was really tasty. Definitely look forward to coming again and will be my new local souvlaki shop!

I heard all the good reviews and decided that I had to come and check it out on my Thursday off. HIDDEN GEM!!
as soon as I walked in I was greeted by the friendly girl and guy at the counter, the girl then helped me decide what I should eat and had very good knowledge of the food that is being served, all though they were quite busy, I didn't wait long for my food to arrive, I ended up ordering the "Mix Grill For 1" and WOW I was very impressed, definitely the best Greek food I have eaten, the gyro was tender and perfectly marinated, the chicken and pork skewers were absolutely delicious!!
chips, salad, and pita were also very tasty.
I can honestly say, this is my new favourite food spot!!

I've been here several times now. Service is always friendly but can be quite slow. It's a small venue so getting a table with a pram can be difficult.
Food is generally good and generous sizing. Platter for one can be enough for 2 people. Would recommend as local souvlaki place if you don't want to go to Oakleigh.
We have been coming regularly since they opened and absolutely love it. Amazing to have food this good so close to home! The staff are really friendly, and servings are generous too - the Mixed Grill for 2 will feed 4 very happily and is a staple for us. Bringing home a chicken SS pack will always make me very popular with my kids (and wife) too. If you eat in and enjoy wine, try a glass of the Mountain Fish red for something different. LOVE IT!

Secret Souv essentially amounts to a top quality souvlaki takeaway bar in South Eastern suburbia, a phenomenal luxury for local residents that ultimately doesn’t disappoint.
In our visit, my open plate gyros platter was brilliantly presented, contained fresh ingredients whilst flavoursome, and most importantly, an authentically delicious Hellenic taste.
I also tried the Haloumi side which was cooked to perfection, lightly seasoned with oregano and olive oil, ensuring I didn’t waste any time devouring this iconic “squeaky cheese!”.
Seating is limited to about 20 but it’s adequate for up to groups of 4-6 (if you get in early enough) although don’t expect silver service (it’s not a pure play restaurant), however, service is more than adequate with the staff prompt, friendly and accommodating.
If takeaway is more your thing, Secret Souv presents itself as a quality takeaway meal option, the sort of place that raises the bar significantly over traditional fast food franchises.
If you’re in the area and feeling peckish, be sure to give it a try! I’ll be back again soon!
Beautiful, generous authentic geek food. Came in as a group of 4 + toddler and a baby. We ordered the shares platter for two and some dips, thinking we would have room for some dessert. Nope stuffed ourselves silly. We'll have to come back again and try to save some room for dessert :)

Everything tasted so char grilled and home-made. The Vegie was the best souv I've had and in the SS pack everything tasted so crispy! Great hidden gem and was worth the many inside street turns we had to make!
We had a dinner for three of us. We started with the grilled cheese (cannot remember the exact name) but it was sooooooo delicious. We never had anything like it before. The chef explained it was the mom recipe.
Great start so far then we order a mix grilled for one person to try and it was the best souv and skewer we had so far in Melbourne!! The secret sauce was also awesome!! I was a bit full althought we share it for three of us. We couldn't help but order another mixed grill!!! We absolutely had a happy dinner. Service was great. Very friendly staff. We were so happy and will definitely go back!!!

We went here late one night not realising they were closed! The team were so nice to my partner and made us food even though they were closed! The chicken was delicious and we've just come back from Greece! The secret sauce is brilliant! Love that this is so close by!

Had some souvlakis from the takeaway menu - they were the best souvs I've had in a very, very long time. The meat was lovely and tender, the bread was not too much (and thankfully wasn't oily, like you get at some places). The secret sauce and fetta chips are something else! Absolutely recommend - I'm sure it will become a favourite haunt. They've literally just opened their doors to the public, so can't wait to see what they grow in to if this is their first offering.
