Coffee on point, generous serving of avocado and the flavours are plate-licking good! Love how the menu is all gluten free and vegan friendly too :)
This is the best thing that has happened in Aspy since I've been here. Amazing how a great coffee shop can connect the community. Delicious food and coffee too! Always served with a big smile. Thanks guys xox
Fabulous food, coffee, service & staff! Be it the avo smash or the waffles you won't be disappointed!! Awesome vibe for a suburban caf. Worthy of 5's!!
I don’t know how they keep such beautiful smiles going through that mad morning rush but they do and all the while make us the most delish food and hot bevies
Happy Birthday and thank you for enriching our Aspendale community
Great food and excellent service from very friendly staff. Coffee is wonderful also. I had smashed avo with egg which was cooked exactly to my liking. I will come back anytime.
Cant go wrong here. Great vibe and great coffee.
Ps: if you are hungry get Michelle to make you 'The Rueben'
For a place i saw fail over and over , it's so good to have a crew in there now that actually know how to look after their valued customers. Well done guys and highly recommend SBJ's for a light meal or coffee.
Happy Birthday to you gorgeous ‘ Skinny Boy Jim ‘ crew. Love you guys & my morning coffee. Always the perfect coffee x
Dougie and Amanda have created a space that is warm and welcoming. Coffee is wonderful, food excellent quality. Gluten free and delicious.
Great coffee, amazing food and friendly staff. Very cool place!
An absolute gem in Aspendale, the food delicious, the coffee divine, the staff friendly, warm and welcoming.
So much to choose from. Get yourself down there asap.
Great coffee, yummy waffles & fantastic service! Fantastic place for a family brunch on Sunday morning - thanks SkinnyBoyJim
Nice place, we had latte which was good, and Eggs Benedict was fine but cooked in a bit heavy way for breakfast.
Service was good but the place was so busy for just one waiter to serve everybody.
In general, we had a good time for a small family.
Our local go to coffee joint! Love pre order on skip app (no queueing and free coffee every 7 coffees).
Mum enjoys the ham and cheese croissant, Dad enjoys banana bread.
Little one enjoys waffles (mum not so keen on this as it comes with loads of sugar.. Fairy floss, maple syrup and ice cream.. Ice cream alone would be sweet enough)
Friendly staff and good coffee. Parking can be tricky in mornings due school drop off, we find getting here by 8.35 weekdays makes it easier for parking
Realllllly good coffee, great service, nice and tucked away. Clean and pleasant space, delicious menu with staff willing to accomodate for good vegan options.
Excellent food and amazing coffee with cool staff. Off the main drag so no traffic sounds. My favourite Melbourne cafe that optimises what a good cafe should be. Definitely worth it
Had the pulled pork and poached eggs on a bagel and it was super yum! My husband had mango waffles which was perfect and not too sweet tastes blended perfectly.
Great food and vibes! Hidden cafe but what a find! Delicious food and fantastic service. Is a good cafe for the area, will go back and try some more things on the menu.
AMAZING coffee and service and fabulous food, will definitely be back. Innovative twists on old skool classics make for extremely tasty bites. Great atmosphere 👍🏻
Came here for a late breakfast pretty hungry and left more than satisfied.
Delicious food and coffee. The best gluten free bread I’ve had at a cafe and the bagels were a winner too. Best barista bayside.
I really enjoying seeking out these new little cafes tucked away in small suburbs. And this one was great.
Pleasantly welcomed and fretted with smiles.
I came here to do some work and was happy to sit in the corner and keep to myself with my breakfast.
The coffee was good and the food also, was delicious.
Very quiet, but had only been opened for a few weeks when I came here, but few of the locals had obviously made it there New coffee spot.
Very accomodating staff. Thanks for letting me work in my little corner all morning.
Good service, BBq pulled beef cheeks are to die for. Coffee is nicely made as well! Nice quaint little hidden gem of a cafe. Will definately come back.
Such a lovely little new cafe in an unsuspecting location. Its small and simply styled. The menu has a good selection and all the dishes with a good menu. Well delivered dishes
The soy chai was amazing (prana chai 👌🏼) I had Puerto Rican Beans with poached egg, cheddar and Toast for breakkie - yummo! The staff are really friendly and service is spot on. My new favourite cafe in the area!
Skinny boy Jim is a new cafe located in a refitted shop front in a small and nondescript local shopping strip in a back street of Aspendale. It is upmarket and far more trendy than it's location should promise, and no doubt will prove to be the proverbial gem for locals. It is a little off the main shopping precinct so you may need to go searching. The exterior features a black and white colour scheme over the original brickwork and panelling, and a folding window, but is otherwise unremarkable. Some large pot plants on casters are wheeled out to help beautify the pavement, and some quaint white table and chair settings are placed outside offering kerbside dining. The black and white scheme is continued inside. The decor is modern and swish. One wall is lined with hanging planters, and the timber panel lined counter is complemented by rustic timber tables and white pressed metal chairs. A cushioned bench lines one wall. The ambience was enhanced by some cool layback tracks gently playing in the background . I found the menu interesting and inspired, and it included vegetarian options. Vegans are also accommodated. I had the buttermilk waffles with berries and marscapone from the breakfast menu, which was delightfully presented and delicious. The coffee was very good, extracted well with no signs of bitterness and served at a good temperature. The service was friendly and casual, and I was attended to expeditiously. This cafe is quite a find, and some way off the town centre. When in the area, seek it out.
Cool new cafe that has just opened up in Aspendale. Wicked gluten free waffles, killer coffee and the friendliest staff. Apparently opening up in the evenings soon also.
Went for brekkie with the family, and each of us LOVED our meals. Also, so impressed with how accommodating they are for vegan and gluten free people! Definitely going to make this our regular.
Great little cafe. The coffee is top notch. We had waffles and smashed avo with eggs on toast, both were hot and delicious. Will definitely come back.
Great coffee and killer gluten free waffles. Has an awesome gluten free menu with vegan options. Good to see in aspendale. Found my new local.
Coconut Chia Pod, Fruit Toast and (lactose-free) Cappuccino to start my Sunday. SBJ is clearly a popular venue!
Young friendly staff. The bagels are great but you have to try their iced coffee. It's the best
What an amazing place . Their coffee is outstanding, service very friendly but their waffles are out of this world. I didn’t get a picture of the waffles, I was too busy scoffing them. Highly recommend skinny boy Jim’s.

Great coffee and the smashed avo was awesome. The only thing better than the food and coffee was the service. I’ll be back here for sure… friendly, warm and an absolute surprise 👍
Terrific cafe with the best coffee in the area! Warm and friendly staff and a great ambiance.
