Service and venue excellent. We were travelling through and had the Charles Sturt recommended to us. Love the country pub atmosphere.
Arrived in town fairly late and pleased to find Charlie's is open until 21:00. We both had the scotch fillet special, and both were cooked perfectly to our (different) orders. Steak and a beer, how good does it get?

Traveling back to Melbourne after Elvis festival in Parkes .We were hungry and wow the mixed roast filled our bellies amazingly well very generous serves. Great value for money, friendly staff .Spuds could of been cooked a tad more.
Travelling from Brisbane to Perth and stopped for lunch. Had the Chicken Roast, was excellent, a very generous serve. Couldn't eat it all but I enjoyed it immensely�

I had the Barramundi special just after New years and it was an excellent meal. Living in Brisbane it is not hard to find fresh seafood and that meal easily compares.
Great and friendly country pub. Delicious meals of Lamb shank and Seafood Basket. The Towns architecture is well worth a look.
The Charles on East Resturant is out the back of pub, walk through down a darkish hall and find your way in. Meals were big and pretty darn good so do recommend popping in here but it can definitely improve on a few things other than the meals.
The hallway to the resturant doesn't have a great smell but once you find the restaurant that will fade. Menu is on the wall to the right before the counter, so it would be helpful if it had a sign at the counter to mention that as you walk past it and it's hard to notice its a menu until being told. There were 4 or 5 couples after us that also didn't have a clue. Order meals at the counter in the restaurant and drinks need to be ordered from the bar at the front.
Rough crowd out the front bar and minimal service, seems you have to be standing right in front of the taps to get served.
Scotch fillet, chips veg and mash with mushy sauce below.

Needed a bed late at night after 10 hours on the road. Staff were happy to help out.Comfortable, clean rooms, portable air conditioner. Friendly staff who were up for a chat. Bourbon and coke was nice and cold after a long, hot drive.
Yeah the crummed cutlets are fantastic. Mouth watering....
The moment you walk into the restaurant you’re immediately met with beautiful decor and artwork. The wonderful people working here, don’t make you feel like a customer in a shop, they make you feel like you are in their family kitchen having a home cooked meal made with love.
Lovely meal, freshly cooked veg with it. 3 pieces of Beer Battered Barramundi. Very reasonably priced. Good service
Just left the bistro here after experiencing the best baked salmon I’ve had in a long time. Well done! I’m usually a very harsh critic. 👌
