Great coffee with beautiful views at the back.Β  On a personal note my son left his phone in the bathroom and we didn't realise until we were nearly home (2 1/2 hours away), I called the restaurant and the lady was absolutely lovely and sent it back to us.Β  If we lived closer we would definitely return customers.

I have long wanted to go to this sweet looking little yellow restaurant, and it's good. You know, it's standard Indian restaurant fare, but still good.

Great indian food. 2 indian chefs.

This is the definition of dont judge a book by its cover.

Looks like a typical bacon and eggs cafe but the curries, chipatti and roti are as good as i would expect in melbourne.

I normally cant stand any food in country towns (except the standard RSL) but Lake Whadie Cafe desrves more attention than its getting.

It doesn't look big or fancy from outside but a great Indian dinner place. Loved the Samosas. We ordered Palak panner and chicken korma, both the curries were extremely good. The rice was a good portion, enough to share with a friend. We also ordered the chapati but that wasn't upto the mark. Overall, a definite winner. It is gonna give all the Indian restaurants in Melbourne a run for their money.

Ordered butter chicken, vegetables curry and coconut rice for dinner. All the dishes tasted good, in fact one of our best meals in Bairnsdale so far for the 2 days we are here. Coconut rice had a good portion of shredded coconut mixed with rice but lack of fragrance. Chicken was good. Vegetable curry though is too pricey as there's only a few squares of potato and the rest are slices of carrot and peas for $16.50! But then again, most of the restaurants here in Bairnsdale range around $15-$25 for a dish. Service is nice and place is clean. Would come back again.

Delicious Indian. This is a bit of a hidden treasure!

I'm a frequent visitor when I'm visiting East Gippsland. The Butter Chicken is my absolute favorite, the Lamb Madras or Vindaloo a good second. Whatever I get, it always comes with a serve of the coconut rice and bread.

I can't wait for my next visit - this little cafe, rivals the best places in Melbourne!

Best Indian I’ve had in a long time! Amazing food with very authentic flavour. Very nice setting with lovely river views, friendly staff, reasonably priced. Was there for lunch with my baby twins, venue is child friendly, cosy and calm. Will be back!

Unbelievable! Very special Indian taste .... don't waste any time and look for your next exotic tastes buds, Best Indian flavours in Bairnsdale. Inside space is lovely, and warmth. With the perfect scenery, overlooking the Mitchell River and wide open spaces. Generous portions meals and overall very high standard services provided.
