Amazing, authentic French food along with the kindest, attentive staff. We came as a table of 6 and ordered the 3 course meal each. We were pleasantly surprised with the wide variety of food offered. The scallops, snails, salmon and fish of the day were my favourite savoury dishes. The profiteroles, sorbet and pancakes were also a bit. All the dishes were delicious and generous portions.
A family favourite for birthday dinners and the best French restaurant I've visited. They offer a variety of 2-3 course meals. The onion soup for entree and chicken with blue cheese sauce for main course are lovely.
Great food experience. Nice service and best taste! Three courses for 62 pp, very reasonable! Love every dish! Definitely i will come again.

I came here on Friday night with my parents and boyfriend for an early birthday dinner! One of my favourite french restaurants in the North Shore has recently changed hands and I haven't enjoyed it so much so I wanted to find a new favourite and THANK YOU Chez Maurice et Linda because you are now it!
There was absolutely nothing to fault. We were given complimentary Pate which was incredible. I ordered the beef wellington and the creme brulee, both of which were incredible. As I didn't order an entree, my parents let me have a bite of theirs - Crêpes aux fruits de mer sauce Béarnaise et caviar noir & Coquilles Saint Jacques Mornay. Both amazing and next time I go there I will definitely order the Crepes because that was particularly good!The desserts were also a hit, as I said I had the Creme brulee, my boyfriend got the profiteroles and my father got the chocolate mousse (and mum had a bit of each). Amazing. And last but not least, the waitresses there were great. They were both very sweet and gave some good advise to my dad who was having difficulty deciding between a few things on the menu.It's about a half an hour drive from where I live (when there is no traffic) and I am definitely going to be a regular from now on! Thank you!
This is the place to go to if you like traditional French dishes, like Escargot, French Onion soup, Chateaubriand, Bouillabaisse, Crêpe Suzette, Crème Brûlée. It's beautiful French home cooking. Then menu hasn't change much over the years and that's why we keep coming back, we know what we are getting.
This was my first time trying French food and I was absolutely blown away! The table service/waiter (Vincent) was exceptional, the food was amazing, we met the chef after our meals! Everything was perfect! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and I will definitely be back.... Regularly...
Great home French cooking. We have walked past this place many times full on weeknights so decided to try recently. If you are after some delicious home French cooking then this is for you. All the French classics on the menu will not disappoint. Note it is 2 course or 3 course menu choice and BYO which is great. We will definately go back.
Absolutely lovely evening at Chez Maurice et Linda. Reminiscent of a Parisian bistro, excellent food and friendly service. Enjoyed all aspects thoroughly.
We were recommended this gem over 20 years ago when Maurice was still in Mosman. Even though we live a long way from Balgowlah now we still come here when a special restaurant is required. It's all about the food and the service. Have never had anything but superb food at a great price. The complimentary pate is very welcome. If you like meat you MUST try the pepper steak or the chateaubriand . Oh and if you ask a few days beforehand Maurice will make his fabulous Bombe Alaska . Go... You won't be disappointed (or hungry afterwards)
Had a lovely dîner with my husband here. The food was absolutely authentic and delicious. Also a five star for the warm and attentive service. I will highly recommend the escargots à la bourguignonne and beef Wellington. hope to visit back soon.

The first experience: The lovely experience started as soon as we walking into the restaurant where we were warmly greeted by Daniel [the head waiter]. There were 6 of us and when we were seated we noted the ambiance was as if we had arrived in a French restaurant in Paris.
The food: Michael & Jessica [the owners] have selected a menu that is so mouth watering, you will want to try everything on the menu, so we'll definitely be coming back again!! The food is absolutely amazing, well presented and generous portions. [And if you like Duck then you must try the Duck L'Orange! 10/10]
A very special moment: Somehow, Daniel had overheard that it was our daughters birthday, so after the meal the lights dimmed and made it known to the other patrons that there is a birthday taking place, and presented our daughter with a lovely desert with a candle, and everyone there joined in the chorus and sang Happy Birthday!
Over all experience: Very professional, high quality dining, lovely people - a very special restaurant indeed.
Beef Wellington succulently good…again! The chicken liver pate appetiser remains one of the best I’ve had. Escargot was very good. It’s byo only and a bit of a walk to nearest bottleo so come armed!
One of the best meals I have had in a Long time. Our table of 6 all commented on the excellent food and service. We will be back. Thank you.

Let's get the elephant in the room out of the way. We waited a long time for the mains to be served. The waitress made a mistake and served my Beef Wellington to another table. She only realised the mistake 2 mins later and took the plate away from them and brought it to us. In a normal non-covid circumstance, I wouldn't be too fussy. But in this environment, it is a potential health risk. I wasnt even sure if that table dipped their fork or spoon into my main. The waitress apologised so I'm not gonna make too much noise. But the owner has to be aware of this incident.
Now for the positives. This place definitely serve high quality, classic French dishes. There are not many places that serves Beef Wellington, not to mention a good one. This place does it perfectly. Buttery pastry, smooth and rich pate and a perfectly cooked medium rare fillet. The lamb brain was one of the best I have had, delicate yet flavourful. My favourite is the Creme Brulee. Many French restaurants dont put enough sugar to make the crust. Chez Maurice on the other hand, puts too much sugar. But I absolutely love the overly sweet, hard crusted, eggy, creamy Creme Brulee. Definitely A+ place. I love Hubert, it is one of my favourite French restaurants in Sydney, but I think they can learn a thing or two from Chez Maurice....
First time vistit last night to Chez Maurice Et Linda and it was great. Our waitress was very friendly and professional and the food was terrfic. Very classic, authentic French and we'll definitely be going back. ps corkage was only $3.50 per person so you can bring your favourite champagne and wine as we did. Thanks Chez Maurice Et Linda! :-)
Excellent selection of classic French cuisine, prepared deliciously with a delicate balance of all the various ingredients. The ambiance is very nice and cosy.
Excellent service with knowledgeable staff. Our waitress was able to advise us on the menu and the chef came around and greeted the tables. A very personal experience.
Absolute gem and food was so delicious.
Haute cuisine served hot! A shear delight. I am now reconsidering ever eating at other restaurants and chain because I realised the food is never actually hot enough, but here my digestion sings with flavour and temperature. If you want a proper warm meal with flavour, this is your spot.
