Review Meigas - Ballarat

Loved Meigas. Wow! Incredibly delicious food, wonderful service. Each dish was perfect, the eggplant chips were very creative and crispy. Lamb kebabs cooked to perfection. The Hepburn Springs drink was lovely. Complimentary starters.The waitress even turned down the volume of the music as we were sitting right next to them. Such consideration and courtesy! Compliments to the team!

Second time back at Meigas, and it did not disappoint. We got the feed me menu and the dishes were SO filling. The ambience is warm and the ingredients taste very fresh. The unanimous favourite dish for the group was the chilli garlic prawns!

Good Spanish restaurant, good food, tasty dishes, the portions are regular sized for a Spanish restaurant, also nice music and friendly staff Against, we went for a birthday and they didn't do any discount or special gifts like a small cake or free dessert. Also it's a little bit expensive. It's okay for go once

Love the food and serving. It's our first time here. Order 6 tapas with two serving of bread. The food it's delicious and highly recommend to everyone who love Spanish food!!

We had such a nice evening at Meigas. We sat in the front window and had the best experience. We ordered a bottle of red which was amazing (wine of the week) recommended by our friendly and extremely knowledgeable waitress, who also helped us order all of our dishes. Our favourite dishes of the night were the Lamb skewers, chili garlic prawns and the broccolini. We even managed to find a few stocking stuffers from their little retail nook on the way out.

A local favourite of mine that never fails!! The atmosphere here just reminds me of being overseas - upbeat, super comfortable and just good vibes with the music/atmosphere. The food is always sensational and the staff are always super friendly and accommodating (especially when it comes to allergies/preferences). We usually get the "Feed Me" option so that we get to taste lots of different items from their menu! No matter what, we always leave feeling super full and so satisfied! Don't wear tight pants if you're going to pick this option haha! Some of my favourite picks from their amazing menu include: their Sangria, Beef Cheek, twice Cooked Potatoes, Grilled Peppers and of course, their Churros with chocolate dipping sauce! 🤤 Highly recommend for a great night out with your loved ones. Book in advance! ❤️

Meigas is a great in Spanish restaurant in the middle of Ballarat town. I tried the Spanish Hot Chocolate which was super creamy and tasted great, it was just like molten chocolate. The mushroom on specials tasted brilliant and the eggplant crips were just right. I would stay away from Calamari, it was a bit too salty and sub par in taste. Overall a really nice restaurant and with great service.

Such friendly Spanish and Local staff, great food & wine knowledge with a fantastic selection of generously portioned food. Definitely recommend.

Highly recommend... awesome food .. compliments to the Chef Pete and thankyou to our waitress Simone for making it a fun night..�and to the music�� and flamenco (not flamingo!!!) Dancing. It was beautiful to watch.. . we were exhausted watching her..!! from the girls on Table 21.. we will be back!!! �

My partner and I had lunch here and I must say it was lovely. We got a few different tapas but the stand out for me was the Pulpo De Gallega. It may be off putting for some, as not many people like the appearance of octopus, but I must say it was amazing! Octopus is an easily ruined seafood and when over cooked is a rubbery mess. Not at Meigas! The octopus was tender and just lovely.

Absolutely love this place. Awesome fresh seafood, atmosphere is great. Sangria to die for. Thank you Ballarat for having such an amazing place

We had lovely time in Meigas and kids friendly restaurant! Food was soooooo nice esp the seafood platter and so worth the money! Staff were very friendly but I didn't try the dessert because I was TOO FULL!

Just amazing! Cannot speak highly enough of our experience today. The food was spot on & the service was fun & friendly. It was value for money & the owner even took the time to stop and speak with us and shouted us a shot at the end of our meal. Thanks for looking after us. We’ll be back �

The good food and service was well worth it. Plenty of dishes to choose from and relaxing atmosphere. I loved the patatas bravas(Spanish potato) and the almond meatballs. We were s party of 4 and all the serves were a good size. Thanks for a fantastic dinner.

Simply brilliant. Had the Degustation menu "Feed Me" and worth every cent. Ballarat's best restaurant.

I'm in Ballarat overnight for a conference and need some time out. Have a seat at the bar, I say, 'I just want a good, full bodied tempranillo ', �. A couple of great plates of tapas, a dessert, a semi dry sherry �. I ask. Can I order some chorizo and cheese to take with me....yep. Jose the owner and I chat about manchego cheese and sample a couple.....a little liquor as a night cap! Great staff - thanks Gary - a special evening. An amazingly great regional restaurant! Thank you.

On holidays from NSW Central Coast we had a wonderful night food and service was amazing. Staff very attentive and friendly. Restaurant has great atmosphere only wish we didn't live that far away a bit of a drive to go back! But we would love to, best restaurant we have been to in quite a while and we eat out often! Don't miss the chance to dine here you won't be sorry! Keep up the great work 👍

The best, most authentic Spanish food I have eaten. Fresh and delicious, made using quality products. Great value and great service.

Loved it, food and service was excellent! The 2 person staff meeting that was occurring within earshot of my table during service detracted a little but I'm guessing that's not a regular occurrence. Great food, excellent service and awesome ambience!! Highly recommended.

I had a banquet style dinner with two friends, trying Meigas' favourite dishes, both main and dessert. It was simply stunning!!! Absolutely delicious and there was so much food that we couldn't eat it all. Thank you so much!!
