We loved our meal on a warm Tuesday evening in the quiet, cool dining room at Ballarat Indian Restaurant in Golden Point near Sovereign Hill. Lovely friendly service. Given water and papadum while we decided on our order. Methi Chicken and Eggplant curry were delicious. Plenty of off street parking behind the restaurant via the drive way

it was a very cold day and we were served by hot food really quickly with amazing portion and taste curries and naan !! garlic naan was really good esp if you are a big garlic fan, $60-70 feed four adults and honestly one of the best indian food place i ever had. the owner and staff are super nice with big smile and very appreciative. highly recommend if you are in the area !!! i also saw some bad reviews after having this place and leaving the comments above , not sure about why but i guess maybe is not authethic enough ? as some people commented the briyani is not briyani cos is just rice with sauce but me and my family enjoyed it and the whole dining experience was really good to us !!

Good experience overall for a date night. It's a family run business like well established places in Melbourne. I found the flavours good, and we were happy with the vegetarian dishes chose from. I felt the food was cooked with care and love, a good balance between broad appeal and traditional methods. The table staff were very friendly as well. It may not be perfect, but you will be well fed, and others there were enjoy themselves too

I went to this restaurant with authentic Indian cuisine mindset. Truely speaking I could not find any authenticity in the food. I just felt that they used same curry for each item. For example, I could taste the raw masala as they were just mixed with curry, boiled daal and cream. Chicken tikka was actually a tandoori chicken pieces. And please do not order lamb briyani as it was just rice and lamb curry. Strange thing was that we were asked to hold on to our spoons. That was weird experience.

Ordered lamb biryani was literally cooked rice mixed with lamb curry. Spices were raw too. Never ordering again from here.

I ordered a combo meal for one person. It was more than enough for a single person. Meal included a kashmiri style lamb curry, plain rice(basmati) , plain naan, two papad, one veg samoss, two kinds of chutney, raita and coke. The curry was really good.

Their food is consistently lovely (we order from them at least once a week) and they’re the nicest people you could hope to deal with too. Their prices are also very reasonable. Would highly recommend!

Best Indian food! We love the flavours, range and service at Ballarat Indian Restaurant and travel from out of Ballarat to eat here. Highly recommend, especially the Butter Chicken - it's delicious!

This lovely restaurant is a Ballarat hidden treasure. The service and food are outstanding. The price is very very reasonable. Every dish we have tried has been beautiful. Every time we dine there we leave anticipating our next visit. Yummo!!
