Old English meals are the feature.... So tasty. The friendliest and most knowledgeable staff. A great warm cosy atmosphere in the winter. Table service and restaurant dining at Pub prices. 5 stars 🌟 and then some.

This pub is more a meal/restaurant venue than it is an actual pub - nowhere to sit at the bar and chat to locals though there is a great beer garden/smokers area out the back with a warm fire. The pub it’s self is warm, very typically British and has lots of interesting things to look at around the pub. Service was fantastic - could not fault it.
The letdown however was the food. The self proclaimed ‘best Parma in country Victoria’ was overcooked, sauce was too rich and batter was floury. Veggies were cold. Other peoples meals in the party were apparently ‘just average’. Really disappointing food for an otherwise great establishment.

Awesome little country pub. We went here with a group of 9 for dinner on a Saturday night and although they where incredibly busy it was a brilliant experience.
All 9 of us left completely satisfied with the quality of the meals and service, so much so that we will almost certainly be back next time we're in Ballarat.

I had a tandoori chicken pizza & it was disgusting. It was basically plain chicken pieces with some kind of tandoori sauce (that tasted sweet) all over it & then cheese on top.
The topping was liquid & was not nice at all.
But hey, at least the beer was cold... 😔

Exceptional pub. Don't be fooled by the facade the decor inside is cosy and fun. The food is delicious and the customer service was fantastic, the staff were extremely accomodating to our young daughter. Highly recommended.

First visit on Saturday night, definitely won't be the last. Lambs fry and bacon like Nan used to make. Great staff great food and a fantastic ambience. Worth the drive from Melbourne just for the entree let alone the main.. Thanks to the staff for a great night

Our first meal out since recently moving to Ballarat....Nothing to fault here, the best ambience, more than generous and unbelievably delicious meals, fantastic hosts and a few interesting taxidermy pets watching over our meal choices, I didn't choose duck but he was giving me a stern gaze just in case :) Loved it!! Thanks for dinner ;)

Returned after 2 years doing Clunes Booktown and use the lovely Ballarat as a base. Their Parma is still truly the best in country Victoria. Used their Facebook page to contact, booked a table on the phone, took a young bubba grandchild in a pram, made us feel very welcome. Short staffed on the night but did a great job regardless. Great food, wine, beer, people. What more could you want? See you soon guys.
