Review City Oval Hotel - Ballarat

Still staying here. Very clean, elegant & sophisticated hotel with lots of technology in use. Comfortable to stay and beautiful views to wake up to. Amazing quality of toiletries. So central & easy to get to most places. Many restaurants within minutes from the hotel.

Very generous serves that refilled us after a day of exploring around town. While they had a sign saying they were understaffed it was pretty difficult to tell. After ordering at the bar the food was delivered in a timely manner by friendly staff. Even later as it got busier this didn’t seem to effect them / food delivery times. I did order a cocktail and it took a little longer to arrive but was delicious and was worth the wait.

Awesome service, clean and very welcoming, and the meals & desserts were fresh, tasty and well proportioned too. We’ll be back!!

Cocktails could use some sprucing up but we had a great night. Staff are great, pumpkin soup was the best.

Great atmosphere. Felt very welcoming and the food was great. The steak was clearly the best choice after a nice cold beer. I'll definitely try the pork belly next time.

7 of us ordered different meals all beautiful. Staff lovely available but not hovering plates collected unobtrusive. Warm during a cold day. Would definitely return.

My family went to the city oval on the 19/03/2022, I ordered the Seafood Pasta this meal was the best seafood meal I've had since moving to Victoria 10years ago, the pasta in the meal was homemade the seafood was cooked to perfection and the herbs used in it packed a lot of flavour. My partner ordered a fish and chips and said the fish cooked superbly and was really impressed with the dressing used in the salad as it had a lot of flavour and wasn't to sweet as she's diabetic. What really amazed us was they had a $15 100gram porterhouse on the kids menu, our 9year old daughter couldn't believe how juicy and pink her steak was, she devoured the steak before she touched her chips, which is a good sign of the quality of steak they used. Would gladly go back again and recommend The City Oval to all my family and friends, thank you for the wonderful meals and terrific customer service.

Waited nearly 1and half hours for meal still no here. Took money and did not advise of long wait. Not good enough. Robert thank you for the free deserts they were great but when you came out when we were leaving requesting that we pay for the main meals that we had paid for on ordering I was a bit taken aback because we would have not waited that long if we had not already paid the meals were good when we finally received them.
