What a great place. Nice open space very friendly and family & kid friendly has a great little cubby house for the kids to play. Such a great place something completely different to other places in ballarat and the food. Well what can i say fantastic. And the coffee is probably the best I've had in a long while..
Highly recommended that everyone should vist this place.
Wow, wow and wow to the food, coffee (best I've ever had), staff, setting and most importantly the cubby house . Would highly recommend this as a must visit to everyone. We will be back.
First visit, very good coffee, delicious muffin, nice friendly staff. Will definitely be returning to try the breakfast/lunch menu.
Go try it !!
This is my favourite place to eat for breakfast / lunch
Great food. Great service. Friendly staff and happy atmosphere
Had an amazing meal and some of the best coffee I've had in Ballarat. Highly recommend to everyone.
My partner and I have just had our engagement party here and I would recommend this as a function venue to anyone that wants their night to be absolute perfection. Sam and Elise couldn't do enough for us to make sure our night was exactly what we wanted. The space itself is incredible and I can not wait to see the photos! The food and team at Hydrant was AMAZING! All staff on the night were attentive and our guests were amazed at the service. 10/10 guys. Thank you so much for everything!
Wow amazing place and eggs benedict were to die for!! Yummo will definitely be back!
Went for brunch. Had a really lovely meal with real freshly squeezed orange juice.
Would recommend.
Friendly staff service amazing and the food is incredible it’s a must do if you love your food
Compelled to rate. We went today with a bunch of toddlers. Coffees were great, food was great, prices were great... the music was fun and funky, the baby change facilities were clean and functional, and the children’s play area was interesting and coped well with a number of children clambering over it. Little things like regularly refreshed water glasses and a timely proffered fresh napkin, made it all over a pleasant place to grab a hard to find mama rest. Thanks you guys, well done!
I popped in as I just found out about this new cafe and it sounded very interesting. I ordered a smoothie, it was delicious! I saw fresh baked muffins on the bench and couldn’t resist. This one was filled with custard and was amazinggg. Still warm. Best muffin I’ve ever eaten. Easy. Pleasant new place for the Ballarat cafe scene. Will be returning ASAP for a sit down meal. Workers are friendly and nice to talk to. Well done everyone
Great place, awesome, food awesome coffee awesome people. A must visit when in Ballarat
Just discovered this little eatery. And wow it's fantastic. The French toast OMG, the friendly service, the atmosphere, the coffee, did I mention the French toast 😜
Definitely worth a visit 👌
Awesome place! Atmosphere and decor is fantastic, staff were lovely and the food was sublime 😁
Great food, friendly service, nice corner for kids with a big blackboard.
Hydrant Food Hall was a cafe/hall that has been invading my Instagram feed for months on end, all my fellow foodies were swarming to the place and the photos coming out of this old Fire Hydrant Factory were gorgeous to say the least. So today, when my folks asked me where I wanted to head for lunch… of course I said Hydrant Food Hall!
Nestled down a historic little blue stone alleyway that is very reminiscent of Melbournes famous alleyways, sits this hidden gem of a cafe. As you walk through the door you’re greeted by a rustically chic interior, the ventilation tubes and old bright red sprinkler system are exposed in the roof, there’s string lights hanging from the ceiling, a small wood fire heater sat next to a large stack of cut up old train sleepers to feed it, and the open kitchen wafts delicious smells through the cafe. Everywhere you look there’s something new to see, there’s greenery and cement and sheet metal, exposed red brick and shiny tile work, and their specials board is the most ingenious specials board I think I’ve ever seen! It’s simple yet striking and stands out against the stark white wall behind it, and on this particular day, the Ballarat International Foto Biennale had come to The Hyrdrant Food Hall, so gorgeous photos from locations across Australia adorned the old factory walls and gave you even more to oogle over while awaiting your carefully chosen and prepared meals.. Friendly service and great food. Good play area and menu for kids.
Hydrant Food Hall has succeeded in crafting a convivial atmosphere in which to enjoy a lazy weekend brunch. The ambience is wonderful – bright, airy and wonderfully casual. Most importantly, friendly and hospitable wait staff will be at your service throughout your meal.
Scrambled Eggs : 😍 Amazing
Eggs Benedict : 😍 Amazing
Southern Fried Chicken : 😍 Amazing
Hazelnut Shake : 😁 Great
Nice cafe tucked in the corner of a quiet street in Ballarat. Big space with an open kitchen and a playground for the young ones, Hydrant serves up beautiful coffee and great food. Eggs Benedict sat on a unique potato and chive waffle which went well with the pork and poached egg. Southern Fried Chicken was crispy and juicy. The hazelnut smoothie shake was a little too sweet for my liking but it was still very good.
Great food, great service, lovely staff, nice vibes. Plenty of room so you don't feel cramped. Great coffee. Been there multiple times and will definitely be going back.
