Unassuming place but absolutely delicious food, we had the Jade Inn combination plate, special fried rice and the most amazing honey prawns. Everything was super flavourful, light and crispy, the best Chinese food in all of Ballarat.

We wandered in for a quick lunch and were pleasantly surprised. The satay beef and chicken entrees were perfectly cooked and the sauce was very tasty. We decided on an extra entree, curry puffs, and they were nice and light (as they should be) and delicious – next time it will be one serve each. We were in a bit of a hurry so opted for one main, red curry beef with vegetables. It did not disappoint: beef was tender and the vegies – cauliflower, capsicum, carrots and a little broccoli – were firm and fresh.

Terrible service. The food had bugs everywhere in the dish and there was so many the food was slightly veiled in a grey coloration. Chicken dry and sticky, broccoli strangely over cooked and the food was also very pricey. Would not return, ever. We tried to eat the food out of pity after returning home, biggest mistake of my life

Came here for a bite to eat mid week. Found the food to be pretty good and for the price - reasonable value for money.
I had a nice mee goreng that was a good portion size, taste was not too spicy and the amount of vegetables was just right.
Staff were lovely and very helpful as my order was a takeaway and it was mixed up. They quickly rectified.
Notes: wheelchair accessible, kid friendly, some dietaries catered for, metered parking out the front.

One of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. We were seated, then told repeatedly that they thought we had a booking, it will take a long time, made to feel extremely unwelcome and decided to leave. It was very embarassing. The place was freezing cold. The owners clearly don't want customers.

Bought a sweet and sour pork with fried rice lunch special. Fried rice was tasty, and pork is cooked to tradition. Real value for money! Oh, and not to mention it was super fast service!

Usually food excellent here, had a lunch take away pack. Dim sims very doughy and cold in the middle, rice was very basic for special, and burnt tasting, lovely flavour in sweet n sour pork but very chewy, and not many pieces under $10 tho.

Went for lunch yesterday. I've ordered Chicken chow mein, friends ordered Hor fun and Chilli beef vegetables each. The food was nice. The portion just right for us. We ended up ordered a couple of takeaway for dinner.

Would of like to have given restaurant a 4 but the Combination Chow Mein was too salty but I did like the fact it had the noodles on top so they were not soft just would of liked more. The highlight of my meal was the banana fritter. The owner/waitress was nice the restaurant was out dated.

Very impressed with the meal.... Had takeaway and was served up with some fresh dishes which really impressed, especially the Satay Chicken with served up a spicy kick which really stood out.... Will return again next time I'm in the area...

Not vegitarian friendly.. They had two dishes that contained tofu. One was listed with shredded pork and the other wasn't. However when I recieved my dish, mixed in with the mushroom was pieces of pork. No effort was made to correct this.

Yummy, will be back. Had dinner tonight, entree platter, laksa and beef rendang. Lovely food, authentically spiced and prepared. The ladies running the restaurant were very warm and inviting. We will visit regularly.

I love Jade Inn!<br/>Pearl and her staff have the right formula of friendly and fast service, along with food that is always tasty and generous<br/>I've tried many dishes here from all the menu types, and have never been disappointed with the flavour or freshness of the food. <br/>Don't expect fancy or high end dishes; old classics are treated well, along with a good selection of Thai and Malaysian dishes. <br/>Home delivery is available ( $8 charge).

Tasty No Frills Chinese Food. Tasty, "no frills" Chinese food. The Malaysian dishes are particularly nice as the owners are actually from Malaysia. Good Cantonese food which appeared to be very popular with many locals picking up their takeaways.<br/><br/>The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside but it's quite cosy on the inside and the service is friendly and efficient. The Malaysian chicken curry sauce was very nice.

I never really expect too much from the local Chinese. Same menu as everywhere else. Check. Free prawn crackers with your Friday night take away. Check. Average prices. Check. I recommend this place for its friendly service, it's fresh tasty meals and quick home delivery. I haven't eaten Chinese anywhere else in Ballarat, because as a rule I don't really like it but this place does the trick. I've been there 3 times and it's consistent.

Value!. Great value. However no consistency with the meals from my experience. Sometimes great other times below average, pricing is very reasonable and service unlike most asian restaurants very prompt and friendly.

We wanted something asian and cheap and came across this little gem during our night in Ballarat. This is a really cute restaurant, centrally located, serving malaysian, thai and chinese food. The menu was quite extensive so we had plenty of choice!
