Review Le-petit Patissier - Ballarat

Jennifer Browne
99% of coffee shops in Ballarat are absolutely amazing, it is a ritual for mum and I to always go to one we have never been too. But on this day it was a mighty letdown. The chair was covered in food, table sticky and the hot cross buns were weaponary. The plate was chipped and it was terrible. I did mention to the owner, I did not ask for money back nor did he offer. Come on mate, up your game, don’t let Ballarat down. We have an amazing coffee shop culture here. Sorry we did not get to sample the baked goods.

I came in today and waited 15 mins for 2 takeaway Croque Monsieurs. A woman came in after me and received her takeaway baguette before me. I wouldn’t mind the wait if the lunch was good. However, what I received were 2 flaccid, not toasted, soggy sandwiches which we ended up feeding to the seagulls by the lake as they were virtually inedible!! . The lady behind the counter was nice and apologetic. I won’t be going back.

Coffee meant to be latte, taste like percolate coffee, sausage rolls no taste, like meat mixed with breadcrumbs, not a good experience, staff great, great service. won't be going back.

Like this place because it is so Authentic. Pastry and coffee and atmosphere … French!🤗🥰and you get to practice your touristy French speaking

Alain produces very authentic french cuisine. The mille feuille is AMAZING! Croissants are superb. Coffee is great also. Pop in and practice your french.

I'm french. I was disappointed. Coffee isn't up to par with what's available in the CBD of Ballarat. The worst is the pastries. I laugh when I read other reviews saying that they are great. They are clearly frozen!! You're paying big money for microwaved rubbish. I spoke with the owner and he is indeed french. Very rude though, probably didn't like another french person calling him out. Don't get all excited with the French decoration or the Ballarat teenage girls who are probably getting paid close to nothing greeting you in French. This isn't the experience that would represent a French café.

Absolutely loved it. Amazing coffee and I can't recommend their pastries enough. The almond croissant was by far my favourite and their made in house tarts are to die for. I try and go here at least once a fortnight

Le Petit Patissier is evidence that good things come in small packages. Best almond croissants I've EVER had. Do yourself a favour and visit this little French gem - whether it be croissants or one of their other delicious pastries or beautiful fresh bread - you will love it!
