I bought fish and chips regularly from here Up till it closed for renovations and repairs if I remember correctly it had to do with a mine shaft either way soon as it opens I will be one of the first in to grab a souvlaki and some hot chip's I live only a minute away from the best fish and chips in Australia

Apollos for fish and chips is the Best, a bit crowded if you sit in. its always extremely busy, which meant it the BEST, but the wait was worth it. When we got it home we saw how much food there was. It was golden. The chips could have fed 5 easily. The fish was a very nice size. I would recommend this place for fish and chips take out.

American diner style layout, complete with booth tables, walls lined with photos of famous American actors and singers, Rock and Roll music on tv and in the background. $12.00 for fresh burger, mountain of chips and can of drink (see pic). Food very tasty. Extremely polite and friendly staff. Strongly recommend for a stop in before or after visiting Eureka museum.

Sadly our first visit was very slow. Having to wait 40 mins for a basic order of fish, sausage and chips. Would of Been nice to be told if they have had a large order being cooked, instead of taking our order then making us wait a long time.

I really liked the old school feeling, unlike the new modern fish and chip shops. Keeping with that theme the style of the place is like a dinner and the ssrvings are massive.

This fish and chips place is a few mins away from Bollarat Wildlife Park (BWT). Went there for lunch after our own mini tour at BWP. For just AUD $9, you get a super generous portion of fish and chips, which 2 of us were not able to finish. We chose chicken salt (can't remember the other salt they asked), and everything was amazing. Staff were nice and friendly!

Good old fashion F&Cs! Serves are good value and good quality. Butter fish has been excellent. Make a great bunless burger for the glutards. Just ask for a burger with two patties on the outside.

Almost like an American dish n chip diner! Great fish and chips and memorabilia to look at, sit in or take away.

great food from this little shop , love the décor too , you can never be bored waiting for your food , great shop with great food.

First time we have tried Apollos, and i can say that we were impressed with quality of food and finally a fish and chip shop that gives a decent serving of chips. And good Service. Well done.

Best fish and chips in town and hamburgers are to die for

I LOVE this fish and chip shop. Lovely staff an great food highly recommend. Food wasn't  oily which is very good for people with sensitive stomachs.

I was told about a fish and chip place with lots of memorabilia on the walls. Well it certainly didn't disappoint.Sign on the counter stated new owners. Well he has got to be one of the politest and quietest spoken people I've met, Large serving size, Yes including a thick and long fillet of fish, I was amazed and my first thoughts was how am I going to finish that. It was delicious and I ate it all. Lots of pictures on the walls and we played guess who that celebrity is while we waited. Music video playing on the screens throughout the place. Booths seating inside , café tables outside. The store is looking a little tired from being well patronaged over the years.

These guys are great and so friendly! The fish and chips are always cooked to perfection and sizing is generous. Consistently excellent food and service.

Went here on the weekend while we were touring Ballarat, the inside was tidy but tables could have been wiped down as there were left over chips and bits on each table. The decor inside was different for a fish and chip shop look more like a 50's American burger bar not that it's a bad thing just different, ordered Flake,Chips, Potato Cakes and Scallops and Corn Jacks. Was very disappointed batter was not great held to much oil same with the scallops and flake to greasy and the scallops were still abit on the raw side.Potato cake were to thin so all you really got was greasy batter, the chips were like they had been cooked left sitting in a warmer and then re cooked corn jacks were edible tho, maybe was there on a bad day? They weren't busy and after spending over $ 30.00  wont be stopping there again to find out if they have a better day  :(
