The work makes recommended the place on the bucket list and I’m so glad I did, so delicious thanks for the great food and great service!

A high quality offering in a relaxed atmosphere with great staff. I really enjoyed every bite of my vegetarian burger and my meat eating counterparts had a lot of fun also. I recommend this restaurant for all diners looking for low cost delicious food.

The toilets are absolutely disgusting... The guy behind the counter is grotty dirty unwashed... Grotty under his fingernails.. place needs a good clean he even sits on the counter... Burgers are awesome though...

Burger joint. Burgers are large with great amount of filling (be prepared for some oozy goodness). Fish pack (Salt n Battery) was surprisingly good - with nicely fried fish in particular. Fun place

Placed an order online, system said it would be delivered in 30 minutes. An hour later, got a message to say The Burger Company had rejected the order - by which time it was too late to organise a substitute. Used to be a regular favourite. Not any more.

Had hamburger and chips viewed server picking up chips and putting into containers bare handed. What with covid etc left my order behind. Cleanliness very ordinary

Really enjoyed this place, shakes had proper chocolate blended into them, super fresh food which was well cooked. Definitely recommended the onion rings. Chips were well cooked though I'm not a huge fan of crinkle chips. Very filling burgers with heaps of sauce, you will definitely need the kitchen roll napkins!

Best Butterfish, pork dim Sims and crispy chips in town. Quick, clean and friendly.

The burger came out and I sure was excited, two beef patties slapped in between cheese, how could it disappoint ? Well as I had the first bite of the precious i was hopeful in the taste and had to cut in half as it was so large but as the burger became less and less it was apparent that the beef party's were sausage like in texture. I ended the last bite with a tear as my expectations and hopes died, overall probably wouldn't come back, 4 out of 10.

Dropped in the other day and had to try the menu special. Cheese Kransky Hot dog with caramelized onion, pineapple, aioli and pickles. Absolutely Delicious. So impressed I sent the son back on the Friday to get it again and they had sold out!!! Please make this a regular menu item! AAA+++

Had the Chilli Lamb Souvlaki.. Good bite to the Chilli /Garlic sauce.. Amazing..Can't wait to go again..Yummo.. Service was great as well.

Got the Hawaiian fries. Didn't realise I ordered a BBQ sauce soup with chip croutons! I took them back over to the waitress and said that I couldn't eat that much salt and sugar on my chips and asked what can we do? Can I just have a small plain chips instead and she wanted to charge me for them! No resolution at all, will not be coming back or recommending to anyone! Disgusting service!

not sure what happend, but the burgers are very sub par, and the chips had lil to no salt on them. pretty much wasted 43$

What a simple yet interesting restaurant! We had dinner here earlier and the food was just too good! � Oh and their house wine is just $2 per glass. � I will definitely go back!

Waited 45 mins for Texas fries only to ask the worker what was going on and then they said they had forgot order! Have me my meal 10 mins later, I asked for refund and they would only give 50%. Dogs

Good burgers and excellent chips, althouygh the downside is that the burgers are very saucy and you will need to wipe your hads afterwards. All they needis some pre-moistened towellettes, so we can hope that they get some.

Love the food here - so fresh and yummy. The kids' burgers took a while to come out, but overall a great place.

Been coming here for a few years now. Food is good as to is Service ( although I live in Indonesia now ). Thursday try the Burger Challenge 😉 $40 see if u can finish it in 30 min. Also only $5 Corona and $2 Glass of Wine too. I do miss Stuart and gang though ( previous owner )

Food are good, nothing special. Burgers are yummier than fish and chip. Fast and good services. There is a Burger Challenge there, if you are up for it. It cost $40 for 1 ultimate burger.( With so much food in 1 burger)

This place is fantastic. My son and I had been at a sports event at the lake and cruised past. The service is excellent and the food really good - fresh salads and the patty is great. Highly recommended.

Think they have all the ingredients to make people happy. $5 Corona, hot chilli options, burgers, fries and burger eating challenge (30mins massive burger, chips and thick shake) the decor and humour of the place is very fun and funky. Street art and witty sentiments make for a good feel. Furniture is probably due for an update. <br/>Just simple food. Old school crinkle cut chips. The serving sizes are quite large, however, the actual taste of the food was quite bland. Think they have to work on the quality of the food now. Don’t get me wrong it was a nice lunch spot, but there are a lot of real quality burger competitors around.

Surprisingly good burgers given my resignation to eat greasy food passing through Ballarat. Would prefer a less seasoned patty but overall I'd rate it better than the ilk of Mr Burger/Huxtaburger, etc. Would give the chicken tenders a miss--they have more of a tempura batter than a crumbing so it's a bit too 'wet' and still tastes a bit gamey. There's also a disgustingly intriguing looking burger challenge on Thursdays but the time to beat is insane.

I'm writing this from my hotel room. I'm about to go into a burger coma. I better get this down before I pass out.<br/><br/>I've just been to The Burger Company. I've partaken of the Juicy Lucy. 2 Large patties, about 4 rashers of bacon, onions, an ocean of cheese. Some green stuff they call "salad" and tomato. A side of fries too. Really really full. <br/><br/>I've only really got one issue. It's a big one. They probably make their own patties. They are seasoned and they have lots of filler and the texture is closer to some of the manufactured patties you might buy in a supermarket. I'm not sure why they want to do it this way. I'd really prefer the patties to be of a courser grind for more texture. <br/><br/>Aside from that, I sill thoroughly enjoyed my visit here. The chips were awesome crinkly fries, just like Shake Shack. Yep. Sometimes crinkly fries are awesome. Here.... They are awesome, and you really get what you pay for. <br/><br/>Sauce and a roll of paper towels on each table. More selections of sauces available near the water bottles... No bull about asking you to pay for a tiny tub of sauce or a pickle.... Take note Grill'd. <br/><br/>Honest burgers, good pricing and a great burger munching experience all round. I virtually rolled out of there! I'll be back! <br/><br/>

Burgers were a good size but beef patty was a bit rubbery and not the best flavour. On a positive chips were delicious - wish I'd just eaten them.

Good size servings. Comfortable seating and nice décor. Its great to sit down at this burger place with a beverage. Chips were lovely and the burgers better. I have no problem going there when in the mood for a real burger.

Best chips in town!! Great fish and wraps yet strangely enough we never go here for the burgers! <br/>Give the salads a miss though. The ingredients are all there but there has been no thought go into putting it together. <br/>

Been here a few times. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Friendly staff. Meals are decently priced for the size that you receive. My usual is the 'Juicey Loosey' and it is bigger then most burgers I've had and was made with fresh ingredients and was full of flavour.

Nice friendly staff and great service, however at the end of the day they real just are fish n chip shop burgers and crinkle cut fries. If passing through Ballarat and you feel like a burger you could do worse

Best burgers in Ballarat!. We love this place! Have never had a bad meal, and the service is fantastic and friendly, but do get in early as they are super busy on weekends! The menu is often updated which is fantastic as they keep adding more awesome things! Highly recommend Hawaiian Atomic Fries!

Love the food. I keep coming back and not once as the place been a let down with the food or the service. Everything is amazing here, for the price you pay. And had a wonderful atmosphere with the lovely people that work here.

Been coming here for some time now, love the food and the atmosphere, great quality burgers and customer service kept up coming back until....<br/><br/>we saw the new menu.<br/><br/>The three burgers we use to buy, all gone with no equivalent replacements. <br/><br/>Burger size almost half what they use to be and lacked filling outside of letter and cheese, overloaded with mayo/sauce. <br/><br/>Chips no longer included with burger and had to be purchased separately. <br/><br/>Quality way down, no longer using chicken breast fillet now deep fried commercial purchsed chicken. <br/><br/>Price HIGHER!!!<br/><br/>Have changed their name to "The Burger Company" from "Food should taste this Good" based on my experience an appropriate change.

I think this place has changed it's name again! Menu slightly changed, still good burgers. Had a great kebab today. If you want to sit inside, expect to come out smelling strongly of frying....not so nice when you have to go back to work smelly!! Need some better extractor fans.....

New menu. My wife and I have been a regular at "food should taste good" for a while now, however we were both interested in the new menu when we went in recently.<br/>Ordered our takeaway meal and took it home. What we got was half the size of the normal meal and disappointing. The change was a shame and too be honest this regular customer has been lost.

Shouldn't have changed the menu, was one of the best places in town. Then they halved the menu, obviously leaving the cheaper items, then jacked up the price of those items. Still tastes ok but why they changed il never know

THERE IS LOVE IN THE FOOD. <br/><br/>Friendliest staff I have ever come across in Australia. PERIOD. There is no arguing this, other people are friendly but the staff at Food Should Taste Good are Personable. Huge difference. <br/><br/>The Venue it's self has been transformed into a classic diner with funky, quirky bits all over. Fantastic !!! <br/><br/>As a rule of thumb in the US, if you come across a diner that has paper towel dispensers on the tables you know your in the right place. <br/><br/>Value for money was Epic. They have made a life long patron. <br/><br/>Well done. Cant wait to try the competition burger on Thursdays.

I would of thought that the burger patties would of been made on sight but they were a pre made brought very disappointing so there right food should taste good but there's was just average there milk shakes are ok but very sweet alittle over priced it just a new style take away place

That have a new meni from the one in the pictures posted. Looks more modenised, but same assortment and great value. We have 3 burgers and a souva amongst us and everyone really enjoyed their meal. The salty chips were especially good. I'll most definitely go there again for the food and friendly service!

Food should taste good not just the name. Ordered the chicken souvlaki from this place. Someone should give the owner a lesson or make her watch a youtube video on what a souvlaki is. The bread was ok, the salads and garlic sauce was ok but whats with the meat???<br/>You cant use yesterdays roast chicken meat (the white parts) and sell it the next day as a souvlaki! It's an insult to the trade and to the meal itself!<br/>Nothing tasty about the souva I had!

They say food should taste good, so I don't understand why the meal I had here was bland overcooked and looked like something I would get if I was at a truck strop. The Krispy Kreme burger is an abomination of food in general (an actual glazed donut stuffed with meat and cheese!!) Fat, greasy food and a very loud intrusive environment. eat here and you will supersize yourself. This place isn't needed in ballarat.

Went there on the weekend just passed, i was impressed by the wicked graffiti inside, but then i was immediately hit with the doof doof music, which was so off putting. Went to go order, but as the music was so loud, the boy taking my order was yelling out at me. That caused me to believe i misheard him for the total, i got 2 souvas, a couple bits of fish, chips, drinks and onion rings and it all came to a wopping $90. I couldn't believe my ears. Anyway, we paid and sat and ate our meal, however, we were constantly harassed by whom i assume was the owner, and plates were cleared as soon as we took our last bite. We felt rushed and not wanted there. In terms of food, it was okay, it was overly oily and heavily salty. I was watching the take away part, and people were waiting a long time for their food, even though it did not seem busy to me. Furthermore, we were neither greeted or acknowledged as we left, which is pretty poor for the over priced food we reluctantly purchased. Overall. I would not recommend going here, as the food they promote as being so good, definitely doesn't taste good.

Used to be a regular at this upmarket burger joint, but won't be returning as they've substantially increased their prices and now it's just too expensive. Juicy Loosey burger was my favorite at $16.50, now it's over $21. Onion rings with tomato relish & garlic mayo was another favorite at $7.90 but now it's over $10.

Great food and awesome service but its a pity that they force you to have chips with your burger. I can see how they make their money.

Great Service, great burgers!. Never written a review before but prompted after dining here last night. The staff could not have been more helpful if they tried - even when my two fussy teenagers and dairy free younger child ordered! Nothing was a problem! The food came swiftly and it was amazing! The place had a great vibe too. Truly awesome!

It should! But not here.. Disappointing. Staff were nice enough but had no clue. The burgers all sounded pretty tasty on the menu, but did not come out that way. Slightly stale bun, plastic cheese (ironic considering their catch phrase "fantastic not plastic"), boring pattie. <br/>This place wouldn't have seemed so bad, had they not advertised their awesomeness all over the venue with spray painted "Worlds Best Burgers" and something to the effect of "we don't mind if you lick your plate - we would too!".<br/>Never again.

You can see what they are trying to do, but all they have achieved is making an over-priced copy of much better places. Prices are extortionate, burgers bland. Ballarat is full of super tasty, great value (untrendy) fish and chip shops with fantastic burgers. Go there

So sad...should rename business to "Food Used to Taste Good". This facility has been a regular on my good food list for many years but no more. The ceaser salad was appalling. something that was supposed to be chicken was dried and like deep fried cardboard, slimey bacon and an egg that had been turned to burnt rubber. It was disgusting. The once fresh and tasty salads are gone. No longer can I select from the range of salads that though already made up were always fresh & tasty. Now it is like a ghastly burger without the bun. Never again! What made it worse was I tried to contact the manager to let them know and I was left on hold and no customer service or empathy was shown. Do not waste your time folks.

Simply Amazing!. It's place is simply amazing! The best burgers I had side Texas. A casual atmosphere and client all from all warps of life. Service was quirky and fantastic and all staff friendly and helpful. The burger itself was perfect! Meat was juicy and cooked to perfection in a damper style bun. The chips tasted just as good! Matched with a cold beer was the perfect stop of for dinner in the way home after a long day. Wife and I loved the child free reading night. We will be back or a souvlaki soon for sure! Can not commend the place enough...

Staff are friendly, looks abit seedy on the outside but isn't so bad once you get in, however, I have literally just finished my meal (baby wagyu with a strawberry and cream shake) and I feel like I've licked the bottom of a deep fryer. The food was relatively flavourless, with the exception of a distinct greasy, fatty residue remaining in my mouth. Good if you have a hangover, but otherwise, bland fish'n'chip shop food with a over the top price tag.

Huge burgers but so tasty. Cannot stop heading back here. Good work!

Diner style food... delicious. We had the pleasure of being introduced to this place yesterday. <br/>we travelled from Melbourne in the pouring rain and we were not disappointed. <br/>the food was AMAZING!<br/>We order the "Juicy Loosey" and the roast in a sub...... <br/>So amazing.<br/>only 1 of 4 was able to finish the Juicy Loosey as it was so big... <br/>definitely value for money.<br/>the onion rings were sensational and the tomato relish was the perfect condiment for them. <br/><br/>Even though we should have stopped at the burgers we still ordered desserts. <br/><br/>Ordered 3 x Hot Mud Sundaes & 2 x Hot Apple Pie Sundaes.<br/>whilst we were initially disappointed that they had run out of hot mud sundaes we were more than impressed when we were offered banana fritter sundaes.... these babies need to be on the menu... DELICIOUS!<br/><br/>Overall We could not fault this place..<br/><br/>If you are passing through Ballarat or are a local then this place is a must... <br/>Definitely recommended.
