Review Blue Bell Hotel - Ballarat

It's a good local bar to visit. But it's big pricey with its food. Be honest. The most of staffs are friendly and nice only one or two of them are bit rude and moody. We understand sometimes the hospitality industry is a tough environment to work, but it's also very important that the staffs are wise and maintain the customer service. Let's hope next time we can get a even better experience while visiting. Overall, it's still worth to visit sometimes.

The place looks a bit tired but the food was great. The steak sandwich was delicious and a chocolate mousse was divine. I would definitely recommend it. The staff were friendly.

Was getting away from the northern river flood's with my son, came down to my bestie's place and they took us here. Great place calming atmosphere, great service with great food. I had the surf and turf steak and it was amazing. Highly recommend a visit if your in town.

Attended Sunday night last for dinner. The older blonde waitress asked if we had a booking which we did not. The place was hardly packed but she made us feel like it was going to be. Then because she clearly has trouble with her hearing she mucked up our order which we had to rectify. She was rude and abrupt. Some customer service training needed here. My vegetarian curry was dry and lacking flavour. The other meals on the table were ok. Will not be rushing back. Not expecting much of a response from the owner judging by what I have read on here

My family and I went there for lunch today. The meals were great! The kids meals were generous, and perfectly cooked. I would definitely come back.

Seems to be a place more suited for seniors. The wings and the calamari were good and I especially liked the sauces served with both.

3 stars is for Food which was ok. Booked in for 7 people for dinner 2 days prior, showed up and nothing was written in their reservations. Female in charge was abrupt and server seemed very inconvenienced by having to join a couple of tables together🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

Dropped in here for a meal whilst coming to rehearse with the Ballarat Symphony Orchestra. The place was not very busy, maybe 6-7 other tables occupied. Took very long for the food to arrive. There were 6 of us. 5/6 meals arrived after about 25-30 minute wait. Waited a bit longer for the 6th meal which hadn't arrived. Went to enquire and was told it would be another 3 minutes. 12 minutes later nothing. Asked again and waitress because terse and quite unpleasant about the queries. Decided to leave despite having paid for the meal. Not happy.

Not happy with a very oily fish meal Tried to soak up oil with my serviette but it didn’t work. prawn twister tasted only of oil.The fish batter just fell off due to the oil.Left 3/4 of the meal as the oil was awful

Lukewarm about this place. Food can be a bit ordinary and tasteless but the service is good and it's close to home. I wouldn't go without a shopper docket.

Typical pub food. Service quick, but need to allow time before serving entrée and main course. Entrée had been on the table 2 mins and mains turned up.Don't clear tables until all parties have finished eating. Just unprofessionalOver all typical pub food and cold beer.

My friends and I decided to head to the blue bell for their trivia night as we hadn't checked it out before. When we heard the parmas were under $10, we had no idea that they would be as sizeable and delicious as they were! The whole table were full after we ate parmas and everyone commented on how good they were! Staff were very professional and accomodating and the meals were out very quickly considering we ordered 6 of them. It was a great way to start off what was a fun night of trivia! Best pub meal in Ballarat!

Always find the staff to be helpful when we visit. When we had a problem with our meal one visit recently the staff acted professional and promptly. We were very impressed. New meals were replaced asap. Always enjoy my meal when we visit. Impressed with how they dealt with our problem. Thumbs up.

Not any more. The Bluebell Hotel has always been one of my favourite places to go for a good pub meal , but after tonight I will have to review my choice. I ordered the pumpkin soup for starters - it has always been the perfect appetiser but when it came out on this occasion it tasted like flavoured water -the bread roll that accompanied it was warm but hard as a rock. My husband informed them of my disappointment and was told that others had been saying the soup was too thick - for those that don't know pumpkin soup is meant to be thick and spicy. Management no doubt quickly watered it down - of course this is to their advantage - but they will lose valued customers who are used to quality meals being served at the Bluebell.

Absolutely disgusting. Smallest pub meal I have seen in my whole life. We actually went somewhere else for dinner after. Just disgusting. Worst pub meal I've ever had

Worst Experience Ever. I have never experienced worse customer service in my life even at a pub. The wait staff were all very rude but one in particular, Helen.<br/><br/>Meals came out all over the place, they have no system in place to determine whose food is whose if you are on a big table in a group.<br/><br/>They have a policy that if they don't ask you if you want garlic bread, you get it for free. We didn't get asked and when mentioned, they tried to charge for it.<br/><br/>Entree and Soup dishes were not cleared when they brought out mains so there was a stack of dishes on the table. We waited almost 30 mins for them to clear the table after we all finished as we wanted to serve a birthday cake, when we asked them if they could please clear the table we were told by Helen that if we be cleared when she was ready.<br/><br/>Waited 20 minutes for side plates to come out for our cake. Never saw them Ended up just using serviettes.<br/><br/>Food was mediocre at best, I had chicken kiev, chicken was dry and crumb was burnt and chips were over cooked and dry. My partner had the pork belly and got one piece, someone else on our table also ordered pork belly and got two pieces quite larger.<br/><br/>Will not go back there again for any reason whatsoever. <br/><br/>Save yourself the pain and stay well away from this place.

Contrary to these other reviews ,i found the staff friendly and helpful!The food was very good value for money and the service was excellent.We went for lunch and the place was teeming but it still only took 10 minutes to be served ,and i have been in top class restaurants in melbourne ,costing an arm and a leg and have waited 40 mins for a meal which has turned out to be average to say the least!

Went there for dinner and I felt sorry for the staff. Running around crazy! I think it was the manager on duty, short guy with glasses standing there and pointing his finger. Meals were sloppy, staff looked exhausted and the service was not consistent. Drank my coffee before I got my cake because it was getting cold. Bad service and bad management.

Bad Service. We were visiting the town of Ballarat, 12 of us went to book in dinner that evening but when greeted by the hotel staff we were sadly mistaken that we were welcome.We left in disgust and were greeted kindly at La-porchetta not to far away spending over $400. Your loss Blue Bell get a better attitude to clients <br/>We would never recommend this venue

Pretty standard pub food. Nothing overly special but pretty good for the price. Service is generally pretty fast too, good special nights. Wish the Aussie Parma was still on the menu.

WAS SERVED 1 LAMB SHANK WHEN THE CUSTOMER BESIDE ME HAD THE SAME ORDER AND WAS GIVEN TWO BIGGER LAMB SHANKS ON THE PLATE. I ordered lamb shanks which arrived in a form of one shank and half of the plate was full of mashed potatoes. When i complained about getting 1 lamb shank instead of two as it was case before, i got an answer that the one lamb shank was the weight of the two combined together. It was a lie - as i had that meal before and the lamb shanks where much bigger and there were 2 of them served on the plate. Upon leaving i noticed empty plate with 2 big bones left from lamb shanks by another customer - and they were individually much bigger than my single lamb shank I was served. I asked for a word with manager, who eventually told me that they changed it and I got a new lot of lamb shanks, and they are going to change menu accordingly. Anyway cutting to the point - if you were going there for the lamb shanks, well you won't get the 2 lamb shanks you were getting before. The staff couldn't handle that situation, feeding me first with lies. I'm never going to go back there ! and wouldn't recommend it to a friend after the experience I had.

Disgusting,disgusting,disgusting!!!!!!!! Do not go to this pub for tea! I have never put in a complaint ever but this time I am because it truly has made me sick! Rude staff and horrible food!!!!!!
