Review Zaragosa - Ballarat

Great food! staff are lovely and accommodating. Valencia Paella went down a treat after the jalapeno poppers. Ham croquets highly recommended as well.

The food here was fantastic and reasonably priced. We didn't have to wait too long for our meals. The staff were well presented and friendly. The atmosphere was beautiful, nice and peaceful although it was pretty busy while we were there. We will be back.

Great atmosphere, service and food. A good range of basic tapas, and some Spanish dishes as well as all the Mexican standards. Seafood paella is a stand out ... awesome! A range of margaritas beers and wines. Expect around $45 to $50 per head with a couple of drinks

There are a few issues here... one, there is no such thing as a negative star rating, i have to give at least one, which is undeserved. Two, the meal we had was the worst restaurant meal I have had ever. I had better mexican food in the 80s - and mexican food then, in Sydney, was bad. The meal was both boring and bland. The wine list was all from the one label and it was all cheap and nasty. The waitress swept the floor around us as we ate (and it was not late!). The 'chef' (haha to that title) left as we ate once she knew we didn't want dessert. I was not going to have dessert! And to top it off it was not cheap = $100 for very bad wine, recooked patatas bravas and the worst ever sizzled chicken fajitas EVER.

The Spanish food was lovely and service was very friendly. I feel the restaurant interior doesnt match the style of cuisine (i.e. it doesn't have a lot of character). It could do with a little makeover to make it feel more warm and interesting (maybe some Spanish music?).

I had high hopes for Zaragosa after the move from Victoria street a few years ago. Being an out of towner, a decent Mexican place is a great place to end up at for a satisfying meal. Zarigosa was a huge disappointment. We arrived, no one was eating there. After a medley of microwave beeps and dry meat, the bill was a little hard to swallow. Service was amazing though.

Up until the original Zaragosa burned down - they were definitely our favorite Ballarat restaurant, primarily because of the amazing atmosphere. The new location still offers great food (the fajitas are my fave, along with their Red Skin Margarita) however the new restaurant is just not the same. It's a cross between casual and fine dining and feels a little lost in between. I'd give anything for the original Zaragosa atmosphere again - but I still recommend stopping by :)

Nice atmosphere, often full so requires bookings in advance. The food was nice but could have been much better for the price. Waiting were slack and mispronounced the menu.
