Really excellent takeaway experience; fish curry and baigan patiala were excellent. Fragrant and spicy, without being greasy and generous portion sizes. Naan, pickles and sides all great too, and they offer a discount if you spend more than $50.

Dang! I was looking forward to dinner here next week - and then when I go to book you can only have the table for 90 minutes. Seriously??? That's fine for lunch - but nowhere near enough time for a nice relaxing chilled dinner. What a disappointment! I would have thought in this Covid times you would be doing more to encourage locals to support your business.

This is the Indian food we have been waiting for in Balmain/ Inner West.. Such an improvement to the previous venue and really great Indian food from our first experience.. Can’t say enough about this place finally bringing quality back to where it should be. Very happy they are in Balmain, definitely get on board if you are local and keep them around.

We have had takeaway from here once before and tonight we visited the restaurant with our neighbors who have also had only takeaway before. The service was poor and inattentive and it took ages to get attention of staff. Menu here is limited but good and, good bit of vegan stuff on the menu as well. Food was great and had a good level of spicing with good heat which I loved. The fish curry was great as was the beef curry. Samosa starter was average and dessert was disappointing. But the most disappointing was the service. We waited for a good 15 mins before anyone showed up and subsequently no one really bothered to come to the table to check if we wanted anything more. That was really frustrating leading to my score. Good food is a pre-requisite but it does not make up for poor service. Ambience is ok but with people coming and leaving constantly made it look like a takeaway rather than a fine dining restaurant they espouse to be. At these prices I expect more. I really enjoyed the food and was better than the takeaway last time. With good service this place can be fabulous.

The quality is so consistently great that you can expect the same taste even at the 10th order of the same dish. Must try Palak Paneer, Missi Roti, Biryani and Khatta Baigan, jeera aloo. This review is specifically for tawa parathas that were made specially on request and were not on the menu. It was a lovely weather to have tawa parathas (toasted stuffed Indian flat bread) and Mohit was kind enough to make an exception and get paneer paratha and onion parathas made. Thank you so much to the chef and all staff of Not just curiries to bring authentic Indian food to our doorsteps. Bless you all!

This is a new venue that has taken over Not Just Curries' business entry in Google, and its reviews. Sort the reviews for the newest ones and you'll see that they are all bad since the business changed hands and names. They are a chain, they should be doing much better than this. Ate in, the food was passable but barely - ordered a vindaloo hot, it was as mild as the korma. The poppadoms were stale, and arrived long after we finished the first course, not before the first course, with the pickles, like we asked. Had to ask 5 separate times where our food was. Gap between first course and main course was over an hour, and only came out then because I told them if it wasn't here within 5 mins we'd be leaving and not paying.

Excellent food and even better service. Lamb korma was succulent and melted in my mouth, the Butter chicken was tender and full of flavour as was the Shahi Paneer (Cottage cheese, cardamom, yoghurt, cashew nut, and cream), the Garlic Naan bread was amazing. Lots of different vegetarian options also. The deserts were also fantastic. I highly recommend Not Just Curries Balmain.

Just ordered Take Away Butter Chicken one rice an Garlic Naan. It was said if we paid cash $3 off meal. Meal came with melted! gifted Freddo Frogs Can of peach tea and all in same bag. A hot mess. We were customers of the Indian Palace for years! We decided to give this place a second go. Huge mistake, I have mouth ulcers, sugar level in sauce high, very little chicken. We will never make this mistake again. Hideous tasteless mess. <br/>We are locals and this giving of chocolate frogs!! melted. can of peach tea, that we don’t want. Please spend more time on the quality of food ordered! As this is sub standard and a disappointing to say the least! Experience. $33 dollars and in the bin. We all want to support our local restaurants in these unprecedented times. Plus cash and not credit card is not advisable, due to Covid-19.

I cannot give an honest opinion about the food because it’s not my type of food! I wanted to try something new but I definitely don’t like the taste.<br/>The waitress was really nice.

Disappointing replacement for the old Indian Palace in Balmain. Food was very oily and yet more expensive and smaller portion sizes than their predecessor. They try and avoid eftpos at all costs, not allowing card payments over the phone and with a nice framed sign with a plethora of payment “conditions” sitting on top of their very own ATM machine that they want you to pay a fee for using so that they can receive cash. I find that incredible in this day and age where people don’t use cash as much anymore. They have completely turned me off, I will not be ordering again or recommending to any other locals.

The food which taste very similar to what we get back in India. Will definitely come back for the Gobi Manchurian. The service was polite and food came fast. All in all a great experience.
