Great little authentic Italian restaurant in Balmain east. The service was great and the staff were very attentive. The food is always amazing. Can't go past one of the woodfire pizzas or calzones. The place is in a sandstone cottage which adds to the vibe. Highly recommend this to anyone in the moo

We dined at Cappello for NYE and we were really happy with the food and the service. We ordered almost all the entrees and among these octopus and Bufala were the ones that stood out for me the most. My Risotto with Mushroom and truffle oil was seriously good, I asked to swap the salmon with Prosciu
Food wasn’t great. The starters we had didn’t have the ingredients in them that was stated on the menu and we had to wait almost 30 minutes for gluten free pasta order. the kids Neapolitan pasta was just pasta with canned tinned tomatoes poured over it. they hadn’t even let the tinned tomatoes cook
We tried three pizzas, the one with pear in it was the most special and delicious one. Tiramisu was the best among the desserts we orders, which was soft, creamy and balanced well with coffee and wine. We had a lovely birthday dinner here. The service, food and atmosphere were great and we'll definitely come back. We made a mistake and ordered non-vegetarian pizza instead of the non-meat one. The waitress was graceful and didn't charge us. Overall a very good experience.
