Review Meyhanee - Balmain

My friend and I went to this place for lunch and we were really disappointed. We have been to many Turkish restaurants in Sydney and they have been mostly good so we wanted to try this one as well. Unfortunately the food was very tasteless and we couldn't have it even after adding so much salt and paper. The atmosphere was amazing, cozy, and lovely.

We have been to this restaurant couple of times in the past, food is quite delicious, service can be slow at times when place is full. Last time was on a Monday evening for four of us, when ordered a type of meat bread but we were told that the oven is not turned on so couldn't order it, I guess on low customer numbers days, they save on costs. It is a bit pricey but it is worth trying..

Lovely little Turkish restaurant in Balmain, staff is very friendly and helpful the food is very good and it really looks and taste like home made. He place is warm and we loved it...and you can tell is original because they speak Turkish with lots of their (apparently regular) customers, and because the have brain 🧠 on their menù 😅 Prices are honest and they have a decent wine selection... it is absolutely worth to try. We‘ll come back again here eventually

Well I'm writing this review while I'm taking a break from eating the breakfast feast so I can make a realtime review and also to make some more room! About the atmosphere: The smell of wood burning oven is the first thing that will draw you inside and makes you feel cozy and calm! This is accompanied with warm welcomes and greeting from the owner and the crew, which will ask you to select a table either in alfresco or inside... it is a rainy day today so we took one window table having that kind of unrivalled Balmain street views which to me actually was sitting well with the nice selection of Turkish music. The room decor is also very tasteful and true Turkish vibe. About Food: It's a spread which big eaters like us couldn't finish, it's authentic it's fresh, ekmek and pasta all literally cooked while your waiting for your order. A wide selection of cheese ( some rare Turkish ones too) nice staff who look after you in the most professional way and also a big flask of Turkish tea. I can't select between the fresh bread and the tea and the tea as my best favorite here in Meyhanee! ( which means Bar btw!) A must try if you care about authenticity, quality and taste, and don't want to have a hole in your pocket.

Great Turkish food and a funky modern/rustic vibe. The mixed grill is plenty for a family and the broad bean dip is amazing!

Incredible breakfast! A hidden gem for an authentic Turkish breakfast in Sydney. Be prepared that you may not need anything further to eat that day as the meal is huge.
