Review Purumiru - Balmain

The atmosphere is so authentic! The food is incredible! My friends so excited! Its a must place to visit!

Have ordered takeaway as well as eaten in the restaurant, both times very impressed! This has become our fav Korean restaurant in Balmain/ Rozelle, it's as authentic as you can get outside of Korea. The seafood pancake, stuffed zucchini flowers, wagyu beef BBQ, beef rib soup were all super good. We cannot recommend more!

We love Purumiru! The food is delicious and great value. The staff are fantastic and the restaurant is always clean and welcoming. I love that they give us a cold towel and icy cold water as soon as we sit down on a hot day. They also give a towel and drink to our baby when we take her, so sweet. Favorite restaurant in Balmain - love it :D

Could not have asked for better service, a place that truly cares about you. Decor is beautiful and different from other venues, it creates that positive atmosphere. And of course, main thing: the food. Food is amazing and delicious! Definitely worth coming back again and again.

We have eaten here quite a few times and have also done takeaway. All the experiences have been excellent. Food is excellent, the staff are very friendly and attentive, and the place is set up very nicely. This is a new place so not too busy yet but don’t let that put you off from trying it. We moved to the area about a year ago and I was hoping that someone will have the idea to open up a Japanese barbeque place in Balmain (one was sorely missing) … and then this place popped up just around the corner from us. While the food is Korean it has a lot of Japanese influence (at least in the presentation and service). The barbeque set (I have tried both dinner and their lunch special) is great. It is served on your table raw, with a small charcoal barbecue for you to grill it on, and a selection of dipping sauces and flavoured salts. Side dishes are very tasty. They also have Japanese beer that is actually brewed in Japan (Sapporo black). The other food is also very good. I like and highly recommend their Korean seafood pancake and fried chicken.

Great range of authentic Korean food. Try the takeaway Kim chi it’s worth it! ($5 tub). The fried chicken is delicious and the service is attentive and friendly. A unique experience in Balmain.

Five stars!!! The environment is super comfortable and beautiful. The food is spectacular and the service couldn’t be better. That’s a place you have to know ;) I absolutely loved it! Korean food with high quality

I love the food I think it’s one of the best Korean restaurants in Sydney. The staff is so friendly explaining every dish. The interior is so cute (Instagram worthy). Make sure you have the tofu kimchi 😍😍

I ordered food from<br/>Purumiru in Balmain. Food arrived late stone cold and totally inedible. Not cheap take away either. Driver was rude. Ended up having cheese on<br/>Toast with a fried egg. Never order from here again

I’ve gone to Purumiru a couple of times now and couldn’t recommend it highly enough. The quality of the food is exceptional and the service is fantastic. I can’t wait to eat there again and you should too!

This restaurant is very special. The food is all handmade...noodles, dumplings, kim chi...and it shows through in the rich flavours, freshness and quality of all ingredients. The owners are very friendly and attentive to detail in both front and back of house. They have run successful restaurants internationally, including in Japan, and we are very lucky to now have them in Balmain. Finally, I must say that I was amazed to see another review criticising the kim chi. I wonder if the writer has become used to eating old kimchi that’s been sitting around for weeks, when the flavour becomes stronger and more bitter? I can only suggest you try it yourself.

Such a great experience, this cute restaurant has the most amazing korean food, so tasty and great place to try if you have never had korean food it is amazing! Western friendly!! The service so friendly with good prices, yummmm 🤤👌

food amazing, gorgeous space to sit and eat. service is fantastic. I had never had korean food before I ate here. I come almost weekly now, infact dining there tonight. Come on Balmainians make sure you support this one!!

Fantastic food and service!! We were a party of four and had the wagyu beef and pork meat platters that we cooked at the table as well as some delicious entrees. Everything was delicious! Also being pregnant, our waitress (who I believe is the owner) was very attentive, caring and cautious with what foods I was able to eat. Thank you for a great evening - definitely a new favourite in the area for us!

Eager water glass filling, pretty good service all round actually. Food well presented, interesting space. So why is it only ok?<br/><br/>The food is boring. There are three interesting dishes in fairness, but two are identical (the only difference being entree v main size).<br/><br/>The space isn’t air conditioned. Which on a 33deg day was uncomfortable. No music. No candle or other table light. Spend some money at Neoz!<br/><br/>The spicy pork wasn’t. The kimchi was cabbage with sriracha on it.<br/><br/>Was it terrible? Not at all. It was “ok”. Was that enough for me to want to go back? No. It wasn’t.

This fantastic restaurant is a breath of fresh air!  The flavours of everything my friend and I tried were incredible!  If you live in Balmain or even further afield you really must try this place!  The service is extremely friendly and the chefs combine delicious flavours and ingredients that you have never tried before!  I can't wait to come back to Sydney to try the rest of the menu!!
