Review La Saveur - Balmain

There weren't many customers on our night so it was quiet for us to enjoy our dinner. Didn't wait too long between each course. The food was delicious and always hot when it came to the table. The food portion size was perfect - not too much or less. The crepe was excellent!! A sweet note to complete the 3-course dinner. Friendly and helpful staff.

Good food but only some of it is French. It was delicious though, we went for dinner and i would highly recommend both the steaks and the lamb ragout pasta. The waiters working were hovering over us waiting to take our plates. Put your fork down and they lunge to collect it even though I'm not even finished. It's OK guys, calm down a little bit. They also took all the tables plates except one person and then was eyeing them to finish. It just felt a little rushed

My friend and I were attracted by the desert on the table outside. LA SAVEUR is a new restaurant here, i am so glad that I came in and tried the cafe and the desert. The menu here is quite simple, so is the small restaurant. Cozy is the best word to describe it. Coffee here is the best! I tried flat white as usual, my hubby ordered cappuccino. They use Schibello, it is a coffee company based in Sydney, I read about some news before about this company, they use top grade Arabica beans, and the company tries to be as environment-friendly as possible. Smell it then sip it, so so good! Since I am on a diet, don’t want to take too much sugar, I ordered an Apple Strudel only. I like desert, but I don’t like it too sweet. The apple filling is a little bit sour, just perfectly match the sweet paste. Also, there is cinnamon inside, I always believe cinnamon and apple are born to be together😆 A perfect afternoon at LA SAVEUR, the staff there are so friendly, I will definitely come back again! For the coffee!

Excellent. A satisfying, quirky, paired-back restaurant with a moreish selection of dishes that does very well for itself. The dessert items could use some refining.

Pretty good value for money. Service was OK but the guy probably could have used an extra extra set of hands. Not sure just how French the whole menu was but food was tasty regardless.

Had lunch there about a month ago for a birthday. As my friend and I are French I thought it could be a nice surprise to bring her to a French restaurant. Worst idea ever. Nothing tested like Back home. The chef is not even French.. Obviously the menu offers a lot of options with delicious recipes. The taste is another story. It was a shame and trust me there is much better if you do some research. This isn’t French food AT ALL! Sorry

Last night was our second visit. The menu has expanded and was great for sharing.
We were encouraged by the thoughtful service that ensured that we had plenty of plates and that the food was delivered when we wanted it.
All the dishes were put together by a very competent chef who stopped briefly at our table.
The prawns and the risotto were the stand out dishes with scallops and duck a close second.

The meal we had was terrible.
We ordered Canard aux Cerise’s. The duck skin was limp, the duck inedible, the juice had no cherry flavour and had been thickened with corn flour.
The French fries had been fried in contaminated oil ( not filtered, had a fish flavour.)
The salad was straight out of a supermarket bag , dressing not French.

We'll made food such as crepes and risotto - texture and flavours were good. Escargots were a letdown, served without shells and much smaller than expected. Was disappointed to find that the set menu they were advertising on the board outside was unavailable, will have to come on a weekday!

I went on a Saturday night with my husband and 2 kids after receiving a flyer in the mail. We had the escargot and pate as starters which were delicious. The kids being young ate chicken stripes and chips but also got into the garlic butter left over by the snails. They served the kids meals with the starters so they were not left out watching us eat. For mains we had the lobster and Ragoût which were amazing.
We ordered the profiteroles for afters which were made fresh in the kitchen and were incredible. they also gave us free ice cream for the kids.
The service was lovely and the food was great and the premises was clean and kitchen immaculate.
We will definitely be returning soon.

The food was okay but maybe a little over done and a little pricey. Sadly we saw a rat running around a little after our main meal came out and the owner/manager had to chase it out. They then didn’t apologise for it being there and didn’t offer anything even though we didn’t finish our meal and left straight away after seeing it.

Very disappointed, had to confirm my meal twice. Then half way through our meals we saw a rat run through the restaurant. I could not finish my meal, despite only being a few bites in. There was no apology and paid full price for the meals. I will never eat here again.

This quaint French Bistro is located in the heart of Balmain bringing a little bit of Paris to Sydney. They have a set 2 course menu for only $29. Not only is this great value for money but the food is delicious and well presented.

As an entree I had the Crepes au Poulet at Champignon (chicken and mushroom crepes): Chicken and mushroom ragout in white sauce with grated aged parmesan. As a main I had the crispy skinned baramundi served with potatoes and beetroot. Both dishes were perfectly flavoured and delicious. Definetly worth another visit to try some of their other dishes.

I am not a big fun of rice or noodle, but a friend of mine recommended me to come here to try their risotto and pasta.
I have to say I was impressed. Three of us had different choices and we finished them all!
The Lamb Ragout Pasta is my choice(though my name is beeflover, lamb is also my cup of tea) The lamb is soft and juicy, slowly cooked with all the herbs smell inside, which is so good! With the flavor of tomato, the lamb taste quite special.
Salmon and prawn risotto, as my friend said, is very tasty. Better than the one at the very expensive restaurant. I tried some Chorizo and mushroom risotto, I like rice, not that soft or hard. Mushroom taste better with cheese on it.
Lunch special here is only 14.8, (burger will be more expensive) Will bring more friends to try the great food here!

Yeah! I wrote so much for my first review in Zomato!
