Review Mr Cafe - Balmain

Great Cafe. It has good variety on the menu. The smoothies and Cheese toasties are delicious. They had good options with the cheese toasties, a lot more variety than normal. Lots of plants inside and friendly staff. Order at the counter.

Love this cafe. Brekkie burger and Watermelon slush get my five stars every time. Staff always friendly, coffee good. Great range on the menu.

Delicious, healthy food with great service and chilled setting. Gender neutral bathroom with baby change table. Lots of leafy hanging plants. Awesome range of drinks.

Beautiful little cafe, well worth a visit! Both the food and the coffee here were beautiful. The menu is short but sweet, I'd highly recommend the fritters, they were delicious. They also serve alcohol from 10, which can be handy. Love the decor, popular place!!

Food was exceptional and so was the service. Really friendly staff in particular a young boy in charge of waiting services.

If you’re looking for a lighter meal, this is the place to be. Tucked away from the busy shops, this cafe offers a quieter environment for coffee and food.

Although the options on the menu is basic and simple, they did do their food with care. The burger patty is juicy, so is the chicken in the club sandwich. My salad wrap is fresh and intact. Shoestring fries are my favourite.

We left the place feeling satisfied :)

[invite] Bianca: The Pancake files continue at Mr Cafe, Balmain. It’s a fairly small 30-40 seater cafe in the heart of Balmain. Turning a steady stream of takeaway coffees, people perched on shared tables soaking in the Saturday morning rays. We visited a few years back and fell in love with their Cinnamon Doughnut -w/ a walnut and thyme crumb but could no longer see it on the menu, bit of a shame as it was devilishly delicious but in its place some strong additions.

Mr is a nice cafe that's popular with the locals. I wasn't a fan of the Will & Co coffee but that might be a personal preference. However, the food was excellent. The breaky bowl is one of my fave in Sydney: quinoa, spinach, avocado, cherry tomatoes, sauerkraut and a poached egg drizzled with tahini dressing. Though the poached egg I requested was overcooked (no yolk porn), every other component was well seasoned and the flavour combination was fantastic. A healthy and satisfying meal. My friends also enjoyed their dishes. Special mention goes to the Mr Big - their version of the big breakfast. This was a massive platter of hashbrowns, halloumi, bacon, grilled tomatoes, eggs, toast, avocado, mushrooms.. phew. This is sure to fill even the hungriest tummy up.
Service was warm and friendly. The server have our friend's toddler some complimentary marshmallows. Little things like these make Mr café stand out from the crowded breakfast scene.

Along the main street and on the more quiet side of Balmain, you will find this little gem! I loved the decor and vibe they have going on, and how they have a no-judgement attitude for any of you who fancy a sunday martini with brunch 😜. They have a vast array of options for brunch and breakfast with their ‘Mr. All Day’ section on the menu. My eyes were instantly drawn to their ‘Apple Crumble Buckwheat Pancakes’! Of course I had to have them, and let me tell you they were incredible. I enjoyed the pancakes themselves feeling very healthy and fluffy, topped with caramelized apples, an anzac crumble, caramel sauce & vanilla ice-cream. A dish I would recommend trying if you love apple crumble, all the flavours were there without being an overly sweet dish, the perfect balance!
Check out the other dishes i tried on my full blog, link below!

Mr Cafe & Bar is a delightful little joint on Darling Street bordering on Balmain and Rozelle. Already popular with the locals this cafe has a clean fresh fit out and family friendly vibe. The menu has something to please everyone as well as some original options such as the sardines on toast and buckwheat pancakes. I went for the honey coconut granola which was beautifully presented and extremely filling.

You could be forgiven for mistaking the name of this cafe for Will & Co which is the brand of coffee being pumped out for takeaways and dine in. It’s a great spot to stop in for a coffee and treat yourself to something in the front counter - such as a brownie or two! All in all this cafe is yet another great addition to the Balmain eating scene
Purple Curiosity
Visited during a bright lit day, it was a refreshing start. With plentiful street parking, Mr. Cafe is located comfortably in a quiet suburb, with ample open indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are friendly, prompt and I can say the same thing when the food came out. Coffee was strong but beautifully roasted...

P: purplecuriosity.com/2017/10/28/mr-cafe/

I quite enjoy the will and co blend available here and usually go for a piccolo. The service is always very attentive and usually with a smile which is so pleasant. Was here with my family on Boxing Day pubic holiday and thoroughly enjoyed our bacon an egg rolls and the house made sausage muffin. Being a local I really should eat here more often rather than just the coffee. Just a pleasant addition to the Balmain peninsula how it must be close to a year now...

We came across this cafe via Zomato. Thank goodness we did, because we discovered…the best scrambled eggs in Sydney! They are consistently amazing. They also come with Vegemite dust! I normally get it on the side because i love the taste of the eggs so much. Vegemite dust is just literally a powdered version on Vegemite, super concentrated but amazing. As you can see dogs are welcomed and adored at this cafe. Can’t wait to go back!!
The Hills Have Fries
Popped back to Balmain recently and noticed Mr had taken over the shopfront from one of our old local places.

Coffee was good, food was quite nice. I had the Mr Muffin with added hash brown. The service was friendly but a bit aloof. Would definitely eat here again

just had a quick breakfast and by quick i mean a 20 minute wait for drinks ...and a 40 minute wait for a simple bacon and eggs on toast, ridiculous for the price paid for food. Service was terrible and was asked to move tabled 3 times just for other people to join tables, not impressed will defiantly not be coming here again.

🚩 @mrcafeandbar X @societygroupau
🍔 CHEESEBURGER: mustard, pickle, ketchup + bacon 🍔

Third visit to Balmain now and I'm starting to familiarise myself with the place, that is untill new cafes pop-up. This licensed venue is a coffee lovers dream with alcohol to boot. I was having late lunch and so got the standard Cheesey, add some thin pig blessings. Was solid. Nothing OMG wow. Nothing to whinge about. Always used to say it's the referee you aren't talking about at full-time that's had a good game. During the muggy heat the housemade lemonade really hot the spot too! Thanks for having us guys, best of luck!!!

Mr. is my favourite cafe in Sydney! Staff are very friendly, the coffee is always on point and the food is AMAZING! Avo on black rye is on the top of my list.... and the cinnamon doughnut of course. Highly recommended :)
