Chilli Scrambled Eggs & Hollandaise with pancetta. Amazing meal, asked for GF, no shallots, extra H & Pancetta and nothing was a problem. So delicious and great serving size. Also best soy mocha ever.

Such a lovely little cafe that has both indoor and outdoor dining. On warmer days it’s delightful to sit u Dee the umbrellas and have your meal and coffee.
I recently came here for a coffee but was tempted to order a slice as well. Didn’t snap a pic - sometimes it just feels too much to snap your food.
The meal choices are plentiful and watching plates go past me to other diners was tempting. Next time. Decor is pleasing to the eye and comfortable ya les and chairs.
What I can say is that the staff are very friendly.
Notes: wheelchair accessible, disabled friendly. Very kid fri fly. Good parking.

Dropped into Phase Two over the weekend after staying at a friends holiday house in Merricks. This café has a funky modern feel to it with a lot of people eating in or waiting for takeaway coffees, which is always a good sign.

On the first day we only ordered take away coffees and they certainly didn't disappoint, delicious and creamy. Looking at everyone's dishes while waiting for the coffee we decided to come back the following day to eat breakfast.

The place was super busy and we sat down at a large communal table, however it was large enough to have our own privacy. As we were in a little bit of a rush, I ordered straight away. Had coffee's again and to be honest probably nicer having them in than the takeaways from the previous day....or maybe I was just caffeine deprived!

We ordered the Phase Two special house benedict ($22) which comprised of pulled pork, poached eggs, hollandaise and a corn salsa, resting on a lightly toasted croissant. The house made hollandaise was absolutely delicious and the eggs perfectly poached. I was sceptical about the croissant as I usually love a mean sourdough however it worked beautifully with the pulled pork and something I would never think to team together when cooking at home. 9/10 for originality.

We also ordered the 'Hurley's Hero' ($18) which was zucchini fritters which were really light and fluffy and not like other generic fritters I have had from other cafes, poached eggs, beetroot hummus, salmon rillette, cabbage and dukkah. Again another knockout dish with eggs on point, and all the flavour combinations just simply working!

With definitely be back when in Merricks again as the whole menu sounds delectable and would highly recommend anyone passing by or staying around this area to eat in. Staff were very friendly and attentive even when it was super busy. Keep up the great work guys!

Popped down the Peninsula to the new kids on the block in Balnarring @phasetwocafe and try out their delicious Menu, was recommended the Chilli Scrambled Eggs with sourdough, Chorizo and Smashed Avo..... didn't leave disappointed and they make an amazing Latte !!

The staff was beyond helpful and even had a good old chat with them about their new venture.

We have a very good cafe here, folks. It’s well on trend with a lovely modern funky fit out, funky staff and, most importantly, mighty good funky food and coffee. Funky is the word. My long black was a cracker. Rich, dark and imposing, it was enhanced by the gorgeous thick cream they’re wise enough to have here. I salute them for the quality of the brew and cream and for the cute presentation on a board. It’s hard to beat. My partner loved her superbly made strong flat white and dangerous but delicious mango slice too. Add lovely service and you’ve got a very fine cafe.

I’d never been to Balnarring before but now I know Phase Two is here and other great things, I’ll be back for sure. Bravo.

This place is amazing; a gem in Balnarring. Of note, Hurley’s Hero - zucchini fritters, eggs and salmon rillette - is the best brunch dish I’ve ever had - it is literally Michelin-star worthy. Coffee is also fantastic, as are the staff! Friendly and efficient. This place gets crazy busy though, even on a freezing winter morning, so you may have to wait a little for a table. Lots of cute shops to explore as well in the area once you’re done, and of course the beach. We make a little half day morning trip out of Balnarring, based off this cafe alone. 5/5

Ordered the Phase Two board with a hashbrown. The service was impeccable and the lovely waiter who accidentally dropped our fritter replaced it kindly. The whipped feta was AMAZING and the decor was absolutely charming. Definitely will be coming back here again. Thanks for a delightful lunch experience!!

If your fussy on your coffee, I would say this is the best I’ve come across so far. Do yourself a favour and order a cappuccino from them. You won’t be disappointed. Have ordered some of there breakfast options and they are amazing also 👌.

Loved the miso omelette. The menu has a few interesting variations on the breakfast experience and some tried and true classics for the conventional. My dish was original and decorative. Coffee was to Melbourne standards.
