BEST Gyoza ever! Nice environment and friendly staffs👍🏻

A pretty underwhelming experience overall. Rice dish and sushi were good however the cooked items, in particular the beef dish and stir fried vegetables put this place on the do not return list. Onion and cabbage swirled around with oil and sauce combined with two broccoli florets (yes we counted them) did not make the grade. The beef dish had three florets. We won't be back. Ordered through Menulog.

I really loved the place, since it was my first time at a sushi train place, I didn't know what to expect. But the vibes are great, the music and the people are perfect. The service is amazing, very kind and clear with explanations. The sushi was really good, as well as the dessert. I went on promotion day so it was 2.90 for every plate.

Sushi was almost without salmon, just rice and cucumber. Very disappointed

Bought 13 sushi and they were reluctant to give any wasabi and ginger. Ended up with a dab enough for just 3 of the sushi. Seriously 🤦🏻‍♂️

been here for more than 30 mins with one other table. Appallingly there are dirty tables everywhere that the staff cannot be bothered clearing. It is shocking to see the lack of hygiene especially considering raw seafood present. it was just me and my daughter with another table for 2 people. I do not understand how you can say you were very busy with 4 customers and 3 staff ? I wanted to click a photo of the other tables to show how horrible the place looked. you have to take responsibility for your hygiene especially beacause of the cuisine served. you cannot have such attitudes with raw seafood around

Standard sushi, standard service. Gyoza obviously bought frozen. Fine for a quick bite of sushi if you don't have high standards.

The atmosphere is amazing. Food is great. Lots of choices to choose. I guess the best sushi train I’ve ever had. The staffs are friendly, knowledgeable, and active.

Average sushi and everything else, it’s run by Chinese, so authenticity is nonexistent. Can’t expect more, alright to just grab two sushi rolls and go.

We ordered from here off Ubereats and if it wasn’t for the price it would have been okay... but it’s just too expensive for average takeaway sushi. The hand rolls were nice but the sashimi/sushi pack was almost icy and not worth $21.80 when these packs are usually around $16. We probably won’t be back.

This is the freshest, tastiest and best selection of takeaway sushi/sashimi that I’ve had for a long time! The assorted trey of sashimi is about $14 for a very decent amount of while fish, salmon and tuna. I purchased mine right at the end of the day but it tasted so fresh! I also ordered their prawn brown rice roll and teriyaki beef roll. Both were excellent. The teriyaki sauce was delicious and the prawns were super sweet and crunchy. I could not recommend this place more for excellent takeaway (or sit in) sushi/sashimi.

I didn't know what to expect from this place because the reviews have been very mixed. Personally, I thought the food here was good. I ordered the prawn and vegetable Gyoza which were delicious. Also ordered the Teriyaki Salmon Don which was nice also, the salmon and vegetables were well cooked and tasty, the rice was a little bland but I was able to add some sauce to spark it up. All in all it was a nice light meal.

A few friends had been here and warned me against going here.... they said it was that bad... so I went there. It was absolutely terrible. There are so many other nice places in the area. Should have listened to my friends!!!! Miss this place like the plague...

When sushi club first opened we were all so excited. Their tobiko was a favourite.... until they replaced avocado with shredded carrot.<br/>The last time I ordered there I was actually picking my son some pizza up from across the road. I phoned them and asked for a fresh nigiri pack and specifically requested not for one that's been sitting in the window all day.<br/>After I hung up, I saw the man pull a pack from the window and bag it. <br/>When I questioned him he got very defensive and started speaking to his colleague in another language, which I thought was very rude.<br/>Haven't gone back since.

Located in Balwyn Shopping Centre, Sushi club is a nice quaint little Japanese place. The ambience is very nice & warm with friendly staff. <br/>Ordered Beef udon and Sushi, the serves were generous and very good value for money. <br/><br/>I felt the flavours in the miso beef noodle soup could have been better, but it was compensated with fresh ingredients and good value for money. <br/>I am going to return back to try something else. <br/>Keep it up..!!

I had lunch here and I was really impressed. They had a $10 lunch special so I gave that a go. <br/><br/>This place was good, I had the fresh tuna sushi which was delicious until I got some gristle. <br/><br/>I tried a chicken Terriyaki sushi which was really tasty. I also had a miso soup which was good but really salty. <br/><br/>The vegetarian gyozas were fresh and light. Yummmm hahaha <br/><br/>Overall really good value for the price.

Do not bother with this place, why are staffs sitting down and chatting when you enter? You are having a break every time I visit? Why are the rice feel like rock solid left overs? Why do I pay $13 for few slices of sashimi, then you give me those cheap akami tuna that aren't even fresh, cheap cucumber rolls and tiny bit of avocado. Why do you say you are opened but your shelf is empty? Maybe because you haven't done your preparation? Then stay closed until you can have the full menu ready when ordered? Is this a joke? I ordered something on your menu and every single time, the staff goes:" Sorry we don't have it, you have to wait for 15-20 minutes.""Sorry it is sold out" What you think Im stupid? This place doesn't open at 8:30, it opens when it feels like it, It opens when its afternoon when they finally made the full menu available.  I should sue this place for false advertising?<br/> <br/><br/>*Another Chinese do Japanese that failed.

If we are in a rush this is our closest sushi place with pretty decent sushi. We have also tried their bento boxes which are great although I'm not sure if they are MSG free

This is our go-to restaurant because my family simply loves Asian food. The prices are pretty cheap, $10 for a full meal. At night around 9 they don't make any meals but their sushi rolls are $2 and sashimi packs are 20% off. It's worth visiting if you love Japanese cuisine.

Disgraceful. Ordered the main sashimi. Was dismay when it came out. It was the size of a 10 cent coin sliced really thin. Miso soup was cold. Cost $16. Left hungry and went to the Chinese place next door

I love the hand rolls, made fresh everyday. Sometimes the sashimi tastes a bit off. <br/>It annoys me when i was trying to order the lady couldn't understand me and kept nodding her head while smiling at me. Also if you go to the restaurant from 4-6pm you find their family members sitting at the long table which is reserved for them only, I couldn't sit their with my mates and they didn't want us to move the tables together!<br/>(It mostly looks like a family business but their kids are sitting around the restaurant)<br/><br/>They really need to improve their service, knowledge of english and overall state of the restaurant as they tables don't feel clean at all!

this is worst shop I have ever seen! everything all really low quality including the food and the services! The owner was really unfriendly and food was really bad! This will probably lower the standard of Japanese food. And the environment is really bad. The shop is very dirty too. And I even found a hair in the sushi roll! Please don't go to this shop or you will be really regret.

Not authentic. The sushi rolls are fine, the hot meals are very average, and this place is not run by Japanese people.

Terrible. I had the worst experience ever. I wish I had read the reviews. bento box was terrible, especially considering the cost. when I complained about the meal which was chewy, salty, had a metallic smell and tasted unusual, the staff member walked away with my plate and never returned. when I followed up with staff they could not understand what I was saying or that I might have a complaint. such a debacle. never again.

Found the sushi very low quality and not particularly fresh. The service was one of the worst I have ever come across. The waitress was extremely rude and no cutlery or plates were provided. The mood was very unpleasant. I will never go back.

I think here the roll - sushi is good!!!. I'm a nigiri sushi kind of person, I often come there and was satisfied because real nigiri sushi includes wasabi. This place is much more of a roll - sushi type restaurant.<br/><br/>I want to say is,If you like sushi rolls , this is the place for you!

Good sushi rolls. Like the sushi rolls there but must say the hot dishes have too much MSG

I live around balwyn and just decided to try it out. i ordered a couple of pork sushi rolls and the rice was dry and didn;t even taste like pork. wouldn't go there again

I often come here since balwyn doesn't have a great selection of healthy food and I don't have time to travel further. The service is so so and I am yet to have them get my order correctly when ordering sushi rolls because of language barriers. The sushi rolls are clean and well presented and the overall appearance of the restaurant looks very clean. The mains are not very nice though and the unagi tastes microwaved:/
