Review Carmine's Pizza House - Balwyn

Ben Wiesner
pizza quality is terrible. We have tried them 3 times. First two the orders were missing items, the 3rd they ran out of ingredients... cooked 1/2 the order, let it go cold while going to the supermarket to complete the order. no phone call or text to update... Had to wait an extra 30mins. When I queried the reason for not holding back on the cooking of the order, the owner touched the cold pizza with bare hands and said it was still warm.... Just Awful!

I went to try the meatlovers pizza and quite frankly I was disappointed. The customer service was lovely, however the quality of the food, regarding the meat and sauce that went onto my pizza, my lovely piece of art was just horrendous.

This place has changed hands many times over the many years. I have to say it used to be much better a decade ago and more ago. I found the staff were friendly, but the two pizzas we ordered were average. Not enough ingredients for my liking, one tiny mushroom on each slice of the Caprissiossa for example. The pizza was a bit on the greasy side. Also the meat was not that tasty. Slightly thicker than average base. The pizza sauce on the base was rather bland, could have used some herbs or garlic. If you are a local, it's better than pizza hut, but drive a little further and there are much better options. The meal deal was good value, so that's why I'll give it 3 stars instead of 2.

Good Pizza store - good food - easy access - great take away

We've had 3 large orders with them, last one 14 x large pizzas to cater for a birthday party, all pizzas were fabulous. Beautiful thin base and tasty toppings. The customer service was exceptional, so far good experience and just around the corner from us. Good alternative to the now closed down Columbos Pizza.

really good taste, more chicken and prawn, much more better than before.

Unhygienic good preparation. I visited last weekend and order a 2-pizza deal, I stayed there for 15 minutes and witnessed the most disgusting pizza making practice. There were three pizza makers behind the counter, one did not wear gloves, and the other two wore their gloves while playing with mobile phone, scratching head and picking up phone calls, then making pizza without replacing their gloves. Are these disposable gloves so expensive? Apart from food hygiene, every other aspects were good.

Ordered twice two nights, both times didnt recieve any extras i asked and payed for, TOO MUCH CHEESE on top, to cover up ingredients missing , and killed the flavor i expected not one anchovie on a Capricciosa when i asked for double, NEVER AGAIN !

Fast service and the pizza was great! The flavour is seriously good, to top it all off, they also have free delivery.

Love the pizza. I purchased the Americana and its exquisite. The tomato sauce was exceptional, full of flavor, you could smell the amazing aroma from hundreds of metres away. Even my dog wanted a bite. The toppings were unbelievably swell. Amazing.

Terrible pizzas
Dry over cooked , cheap toppings and bland in flavour .
Extremely tight with toppings does not even cover to edge of pizza.
Check out pics of pizza to see.
Waste of money get a pizza elsewhere

Pizza is always fresh and tasty from Carmines. Ordered a HUGE number of pizzas for a function and they arrived on time, hot and everyone was more than happy! Definitely recommend!

Fresh pizza with very fresh and what appears to be high quality ingredients. The pizza wasn't oily which is usually expected for the traditional thicker base pizza establishments.

We ordered using Uber Eats with our house close by and even though they were delivered they still tasted amazingly fresh.

Definitely recommended for some quick takeaway pizza!
Carmines is my favourite pizza place in town. I always receive friendly service and delicious food. I tend to tailor my order to include extras and remove other ingredients and they are always happy to accommodate. Perfect not too thin, but not too thick crust and they aren't stingy with their toppings :P

For the price you pay, you get prompt service (10 minutes on a busy Friday night is good timing), free delivery under certain conditions and a good pizza. If you're looking for old-fashioned takeaway pizza, this is the place to get it locally. Owners are friendly and experienced too, know their customers and know what they're doing.

A note: this isn't gourmet pizza, so if you're looking for that go somewhere where you pay $22+ per 'large' pizza with a smattering of toppings and wafer-thin base.

Nope. It was delivered on time. That's the best I can say.. The pizza and pasta were just plain bad. Would not recommend.

What a joke. Charge you $2 per pizza to order online and then serve oil on bread.

Oil soaked through the box!

It's so good to see that someone knows how to make a gluten free pizza that u can enjoy. I will be going back 100% and telling people to go.. Staff are amazing and very friendly.

Good deal. Delicious pizza at reasonable prices. The 2 for 20 deal is a steal!
