Went there for breakfast this morning! What a lovely way to start the day! Even though it was very very busy we were served in record time and food was exceptional! Not to mention the service a special thank you to Anthony for going above and beyond for us! Also bought their delicious bread as well best bread I've ever tasted!! Have just had my opinion of the wonderful Brasserie Bread confirmed with their two fabulous wins for their bread. It is always such a joy to go to Banksmeadow to their cafe for the scrumptious breakfasts, brunch and lunches. So with they were nearer to where I live. However, the bonus is that their bread can be bought locally and it is head and shoulders above any other bread I've tasted. I love their white sourdough, their baguettes, the fruit bread, in fact to be honest, I like all of their breads. My hips also like the bread, spread with lots of butter and vegemite, my daily breakfast, though sometimes I have peanut butter or avocado (not smashed), or left over bolognaise - the bread soaks in the juices from the bol. - what an absolutely delicious comfort meal. Do think of opening another cafe on the north shore side of Sydney, as those of us who live here would just so love that. Thank you for all the effort which has gone into creating this bread heaven.

I have been into Brasserie Bread at Botany twice and on both occasions I can't fault the food or the customer service. Brasserie Bread has a relaxing, friendly, happy atmosphere and the cafe staff are exceptional at being very responsive, attending and helpful when asking about menu items. I will definitely return!!

Definitely my favorite place for brunch in autumn.

The location, ambience and interiors are all great. The food, is absolutely lovely.

The coffee and croissant (favourite combination ever!) were the highlight of my meal. The sourdough pancakes were soft and filling; balanced with a sweet-and-sour berry compote and an extremely light and delicate honeycomb cream. The raspberry tart was cakey and yum. No complaints, really.

Can't wait to try more baked treats from here.

Lovely unassuming cafe. Food was nice and good proportions - I had the Croque Monsieur, which although presentation was nothing spectacular, was quite nice. Hubby had panini which was decent. Coffee was outstanding, best we’d had in a while.

Love this place! Decent coffee and amazing bread.
Comfortable clean interior, order at the counter, be tempted by all the pastries and breads, decent coffee, free sampling of sourdough while you wait.

Have had a few dishes off their food menu.
Ham and cheese croissant beautifully toasted remaining hot but flakey (and thankfully not flat like most places). Avocado on toast refreshing and yummy. selection of gourmet sandwiches.

One of the down sides would be parking, there is roadside parking but it can be difficult if it’s full and with all the heavy trucks going through!

Definitely a local favourite.

It was terribly busy at this artisan bakery, super popular on a Saturday for breakfast. I managed to get a table quickly and scoffed down the Breakfast Plate (soft boiled egg, tomato, avocado, sliced tilsit cheese and toast) before my next appointment. They serve the toast with Pepesaya butter (yum!) and Coffee is by Allpress. Will like to go back again when I'm in a less rush.

Joanne and I had breakfast at this bakery on a Sunday morning when the cafe was still relatively quiet. The cafe has a counter service, so you'll have to go the till when you're ready to order. We tried the ham and cheese croissant, and the smoked trout with feta and poached eggs on sourdough. Both dishes were really tasty and we were satisfied. The counter at the front displayed a variety of pastries and baked goods which looks so enticing. We end up getting the olive and rosemary loaf to takeaway; the olive and rosemary flavours compliments so well together.
😍🍞 I'll be sure to pop by again to try the pastries and the different breads when I visit Sydney again.

Delicious bread, nice looking premises and friendly staff... but a bit overrated. This is simple food done up to a decent standard. My sandwich was good but the highlight was the bread. It was actual bread! (as stupid as it sounds). Had a flourless orange cake and it was ok but nothing impressive... upside is they did not overload me with sugar. If you are in the area I would recommend this place for breakfast.

A Bakery production site and cafe in Botany Bay that has a large space to eat in, bread you can buy to go or watch it the bakers in action. Coffee was campos and they sell beans too. The menu has lots of meals
for breakfast, brunch or lunch and offer lots of bread choices; white, wholemeal, rye, multigrain etc.. you can get sandwiches, pancakes, salads and more. I got a European breakfast (or so I called it). A warm soft boiled egg, tomato, cheese and toast. It comes with Pepe La Saya Butter too. Nice. Prices there are reasonable. I got an espresso and a macchiato which were fine. Service was good.

Special shout out for the sides that we ordered... They were very generous. The lemon, lime bitters was especially delicious... It was a special, but is deserving of a place on the main menu.

With a rating like this, you can't help but have high expectations. I had to give the sourdough pancakes a go despite not having much of a sweet tooth especially for breakfast. They were very good indeed, worth all the praise and positive reviews. But the true star of the meal for me had to be the lamb shoulder hash!! Soo amazing, so delicious, and definitely the dish that will have me back again. Honestly with the pancakes alone I wouldn't have rated so highly, but the lamb - my goodness this alone is a 4.5.

It is a bit in the middle of nowhere so the trek had to be made purely for the meal, but after my first visit I can conclude that it was all worth it indeed!

Located on a lonely road, the outside didn't seem like much but the interior was quite nicely decorated.

The service was pleasant, ordered the poached eggs with bacon and avo, and the pancakes to share.

The poached eggs were done very nicely, and the bacon was extremely fragrant. I spread the avo, bacon, tomato and the poached eggs on the wholemeal bread and ate it all together. It was a delightful dish and I thought the meal couldn't get any better till I tried the pancakes!

The pancakes were really intriguing, my host telling me that the pancakes were fried. To my surprise, not only were the pancakes tasty and fluffy on the inside, but they were crispy on the outside! It was extremely unique and I was delighted with the dish!

Not a fan of the location of this place (way out in botany on a dusty road that people hoon along), but I wanted to try the pancakes. You'd never suspect this place is here between industrial places and across from a tavern looking golf course. The decor is simple but functional. Service was friendly and efficient.

Got the sourdough pancakes with honeycomb cream and berry compote ($16.50) and they were delicious. Nourishing, crisp yet light, and excellent balance of flavours - not too sweet. Also got a choc caramel tart ($6) to take away - yummy and delicate filling but the pastry could be shorter (and at $6 was a bit steep). Finally capped off with a fresh OJ ($5) - good serving but oranges weren't that sweet and it wasn't cold (they didn't have a cold pressed option sadly).

All up really yum but not sure I'd trek down there for it again.

I’ve made it something of a tradition for me to visit Brasserie Bread whenever I visit the airport to pick someone up, it’s a great place for a very Australian brunch after getting off the plane. Brasserie Bread is probably the first place that I specifically drove out to due to a social media post. Someone posted their sourdough pancakes and they looked so good that I just had to go try them for myself. Since then I’ve gone from Facebook spamming to Instagramming food pics to Food Blogging and you can probably blame Brasserie Bread for all of that!

Sort of out in the middle of nowhere. It's actually not that far away but it's on this long stretch of road that makes me feel I'm heading to the outback. So it feels far. I don't go very often but I really should. Best pancakes in Sydney. They're sourdough pancakes with a berry compote and honeycomb cream. I'm huge on texture and that's why I love these. They're not light and fluffy in my book. Rather, spongy and chewy. Sounds odd I know, but so incredibly good. And that texture is what lures me back. No-one else does it like this!? Plus it obviously tastes fantastic with just the right level of sweetness. I really want to try the banana version but I can never pass up ordering the berry pancakes. Maybe one day. Have also had other stuff here. Their pastries are amazing. Especially the almond croissant. Sandwiches are pretty good too. Really tasty but a little on the small/light side for me. Their bread is naturally amazing and the standout in their sandwiches. Not a fan of the coffee. Overall, a fantastic little place that can get really busy during peak hours. The pancakes alone are worth the trip out here.

Located in the industrious area of Botany road, the menu is not extensive but the dishes I have tried are all pretty amazing.
I especially love the sourdough pancakes. It’s not sweet and more of a savory pancake and a great breakfast. The pancake is garnished with unsweetened berries (or you can have bananas instead) and topped with honeycomb cream. If you are someone like me who doesn't really like sweet things you've got to try this. My husband ordered lamb shoulders; he mentioned that food was very tasty with all the ingredients perfectly put together.  Fantastic coffees and you can buy perfectly made pastries, condiments and breads. Love this place!
Update : came back and ordered banana sourdough pancake this time. This pancake is much sweeter than the berry one. Banana and syrup on the bottom of pancake is really sweet but coconut yogurt offsets the sweet flavour well. I do prefer berry one for my taste but still its a good pancake.

Brasserie bread is truly down to earth. No elaborate furnishings or fancy menus. There's a giant chalkboard menu on the wall calling out as you enter.

We ordered the lamb shoulder hash and the smoked chicken on sourdough. Unconventional as it may be for a breakfast item, the lamb was certainly a winner. It was tender, rich and accompanied with perfectly roasted and flavourful root vegetables and spinach. The smoked chicken was slightly misleading as I was actually expecting smoked chicken pieces but it turned out to be a very basic chicken roll sandwich. It was well done but ordinary. Both dishes were served with freshly baked sourdough. I also really liked the butter they use (Pepe saya butter), which was fabulously rich.

Couldn't leave without buying a pain au chocolat and a chocolate almond croissant for tea and they were top notch. Perfectly crisp on the outside, fluffy interiors and a good amount of filling. What surprised me the most was my coffee! It is hands down the best cappucino I have had in this neck of the woods. I was wondering why it took a while for my coffee to arrive but well worth it for a well brewed cup of coffee. Good job barrista!

Really excited to discover this little hidden gem tucked away in an industrial warehouse close to my suburb. There are so many more pastries that look absolutely decadent such as the lemon tart and the caramel tart. Can't wait to get my hands on them!

Who doesn't love bread? As soon as I stepped into this place, I couldn't stop pointing my fingers to each bread and pastry I saw! A trip to Brasserie is not complete without their light and fluffy Sourdough Pancakes, Croque Monsieur (or Mademoiselle with egg on top) and their amazing caramelised Garlic Bread! But this time.. I'll only talk about their croissants~
All the time I spent to travel paid off with their Award-winning Croissant! From the first bite.. It's so buttery and soft with the crispy and flaky exterior.. They practically melted in your mouth with all that finest quality butter! Try their Pain Chocolat if you want to enjoy the indulgent filling of dark Belgian chocolate..
As for the Almond Croissant, it has those flaky crispy yet buttery layers and it's double-baked with a sugar syrup glaze and toasted almond slivers on top.. The frangipane cream was rich and velvety with the right level of sweetness.

I started buying my bread at Brasserie Bread because of their French Mountain loaf. It was the closest thing I'd found in Australia to pain poliane, a dense chewy sourdough with a hard crust that was almost ubiquitous where I lived in St Germain des Pres. I don't know whether Brasserie Bread still make the French Mountain loaf - I always look for it when I see their stalls at the markets but haven't come across it for a while - but their other sourdoughs are also good. So much bread, so little time ...

Gets a 4.0 because its in a weird location with no good competition nearby (its a organic bakery cafe in an industrial zone) and the coffee was decent. I had the goat yoghurt muesli, a Danish and a coffee. Not good value but I loved the muesli, Danish was old without crispness and coffee was solid. A friend had the sourdough French toast which was strange but filling. Overall its an above average cafe with very filling and satisfying bread.

We kneaded our dough around 5 times, with a short break between each go. The dough was pretty sticky, but with each rest, it became less and less so. On one of the larger kneading breaks, baker Yudha entered the room with a jolly smile and walked us through making our own starter.

Yudha’s practical demonstration included mixing the starter together with a pair of chopsticks, which apparently is the best tool for the job and requires minimal clean up! At the end of the class everyone is given all the instructions on how to make your own starter and sourdough, which is great, so you aren’t frantically trying to remember everything you see!

Once Yudha finished his demonstration, he pulled out the biggest slab of dough I’ve ever seen!

Have only been here to taste their freshly made original sourdough's and sprouted wheat variety but alas they were delicious!

Paired well with Pepe Saya butter! Just think about it - freshly baked bread with butter - it doesn't get any better than that! Unless you add some honey! :P

The single origin wheat is sourced from the Southern Finders range.

Matt who explained to us of how this began also noted that when they first started making the bread he could taste a 'mineraly' taste but then realised it was coming from the soil. All the good nutrients were being tasted in the bread.

When people have that passion for what they do, it shows in the products they produce. Gotta love the passion and the stories that come with it.

I was recently invited to attend Brasserie Bread’s event ‘Single Origin – Celebrate The Source’. I was thrilled to go because a) I love bread and b) I love bread. I invited my Dad along as he is a passionate weekend baker and always sends me out each week to buy a loaf of Brasserie Batard bread from Thomas Dux.

Before I continue, I just wanted to quickly chat about what exactly ‘Single Origin Bread’ means and why it is definitely worth celebrating. Single Origin Bread is, as its name suggests, bread created from a single origin. In Brasserie Bread’s case, they have sourced their flour from the fields at Flinders Ranges. When speaking to co-founder Michael, the need for single origin bread was clear as it ensures traceability and knowing exactly where that beautiful slice of bread was planted, farmed and milled. From the bakers’ point of view, it ensures consistency as the protein levels, moisture and structure of the flour is exactly the same every time. This allows the bakers to truly understand their ingredients and guarantees the same (excellent) product is baked every time. This is unheard of in the bread industry as flour is normally milled with a mixture of different wheat and tracing the source is close to impossible. But after years of searching, Brasserie Bread have done it, and boy that’s worth celebrating!

The event was held at their café and bake house in Banksmeadow. After parking nearby we could have easily found the location using our nose alone as there was the most delicious aroma from a spit of lamb being roasted outside. After making our way inside and receiving our trusty nametags, Dad made a b-line straight to the friendly baker standing behind mountains of freshly baked bread.  Nigel, the head baker in Melbourne, was absolutely wonderful. We spoke at length about baking bread (of course!), the new single origin flour and the two breads on show tonight–sourdough and sprouted. Nigel cut us slices of the freshly baked (and my goodness, still warm)

he shortcrust pastry from Brasserie is the same in all three cakes we tried, they hold really well, are gorgeously buttery and so crumbly when you bite into them. No wonder the girl at the counter put on 6 kilos in 3 months, how do you say no to such lovely food after work? The dark chocolate ganache was just divine, I was really into the next few mouthfuls as the caramel is as described, delightfully runny and slightly bitter. A stunning tart.

Brasserie Bread says, “An artisan baker is a craftsperson who is trained to the highest skill level to, mix, ferment, shape (hand mould) and bake a hand crafted loaf of bread.” This is not industrial, mass-produced bread. Their dough is cold-fermented and slow processed, they use organic ingredients that are nutritious and with no preservatives. With their popular kid’s baking classes, it is also about passing on the knowledge, skills, and passion to the next generation. I love that.

Best bakery by far!!!!!. My first experience of this bakery was amazing, I was so disappointed in myself that I hadn't been there before. Let me just say, hands down the best croissant that I have ever had, it was like no other!!!! A definite must when going there, they were happy enough to pack my food for takeaway so I could enjoy it at home, which was a bummer for me cause I wanted more and more, I had the brioche with spinach, an egg and hollandaise sauce, it had smoked trout but I opted not to add it and my friend had the sourdough pancakes with bananas and maple sauce. I tried both and they were divine, there was so much sauce in both meals which made the food very scrumptious, and for someone like me who doesn't like pancakes at all. They may have changed my love for pancakes ?!

A good escape from City life, nice relaxed atmosphere with service to boot. Sourdough Pancakes were really good, I felt the eggs were slightly overdone, Coffee is fantastic. On the whole this place is great, will come back again :-))

So simple, so delicious. Don't expect a fancy menu, it's very simple and lacking in choice, but the food is very good. What it does offer is great for light brunch, which makes sense cos you gotta leave heaps of room for dessert! Ranging from full meals (sourdough pancakes amazing!!), choc caramel tart (delicious, add your own salt ;) ), other tarts and cakes etc. Coffee I've had over 2 weekends here were delicious. Their dark choc is very sweet but so smooth, would be great in colder weather. I think it's on the pricey side for size of meals, but they make simple things taste so good! Bun-in-Oven must try :) The industrial/warehouse inside is not so great with noisy children though :(

Family-oriented breakfast joint - love the Pancakes!. My fave pancakes in Sydney are from here - they're sourdough pancakes with a chewy texture and slightly sour taste -- love it how its not as filling or sweet like the usual pancakes you get at most other places.
The pork shoulder and hash was fantastic too. friendly waiters and a buzzing eatery.
The only thing I didn't really like were there were too many kids and prams around and the fact you had to order at the counter that slightly detracted away from the cafe experience you'd normally find at weekend brekky places in the inner west.
....still, top-quality food overall!

This place is making plenty of dough. And for great reason. It's a great haven from the hustle and bustle of nearby transport.
Specialising in fabulous assortment of home-style breads, retailed at the immediate front of house, there is also an appealing restaurant .
I met here for a breakfast meeting. Both of us chose the poached eggs, sheep feta and smoked salmon on toast. Choice ingredients, perfect eggs and served well.
Normally going beyond a regular sized coffee order is risky. However their large coffee was delicious and not at all diluted.
On the way out I was successfully enticed in buying 2 loaves for the family. Nom nom.
All in all a great success story. Keep it up.

The smell of fresh bread and coffee envelopes you as soon as you walk into the place, love it. Plenty of breakfast options to choose from too, brioche, sandwiches, brownies, eggs benedict etc.

Fantastic brunch!. This is a great little spot (ok, a bit out of the way) for a lazy Saturday brunch. Cannot recommend the sourdough pancakes enough! Have tried also the croque de monsieur and other savoury b'fast, which are ok but servings could be bigger (it is a bakery, after all!).

They may be a wholesale bakery that stocks cafes around the country, but the Botany HQ is absolutely down-to-earth and has that local community feel, with friendly service. The pistachio raspberry delice was hefty to hold and I did not expect the checkered beauty of the the filling when I sliced into it. Delicious flavour combination of nutty pistachio and tangy raspberry, and very generous with the filling too. The cinnamon kouign amann was crispy and satisfying, like the pastry form of a cinnamon doughnut. Their sourdough needs no introduction - got the emmer wholegrain sourdough this time - best enjoyed toasted with butter and a smattering of sea salt. IG: @shazlikesponies

Amazing! Head office and Bakery is at the same location. I can see the place has a dine-in area, due to covid restrictions. Seatings are unavailable. But they remain open for takeaway.

These guys produce the most amazing sourdough breads. We are regulars here now. Good coffee and all day meals. You can watch the bread making process through their display windows. Ample parking spots.

Going here to buy sourdough bread twice a week. Best sourdough bread in town. Friendly staff and professional service. Coffee is good too. Sourdough pancake with berries and cream is a must try. They sell other goodies such as butter, olive oil, jam and sweeteners. Can be crowded during weekends.

Wanted to check this place out for a while and finally got to do it today. Did definitely not disappoint! Great food, lovely team, easy parking and the sourdough was so good I took a whole loaf home (and might have already eaten half of it).
