Review Maple & Co - Bankstown

This place has a lot of potential. The food is great and the coffee good. Just lacks the warmth of friendly service with a smile. This is our breakfast go to when in Bankstown Central as I find the food and coffee consistent. I like the Toby's Estate blend. This time hubby got the big breakfast which didn't disappoint and I had the brekkie burger with hash brown and avo, totally satisfying. And if you're a coffee lover like me then you'll love that they also sell the Toby's Estate coffee beans at a very reasonable price (for excellent quality beans).

Ordered Crunchy Crumple Chicken Breast and the portion is larger than I expected. The order took a bit longer than I preferred. The salad is okay, the dressing was sweet and tangy. The fries is excellent, comes in large chunks and not overcooked. With the chicken breast, although I didn't get any of the "crunch", it is not bad that it's not dry and has flavour. The gravy however is the most watery gravy I've ever had or seen, usually gravy has some sort of 'thickness' to its consistency and it has none. Also had a weak almond latte which I enjoyed. There are some negative reviews because staff attitudes, however I had no issues with my visit today, we were greeted and they were friendly. The wait and gravy could do with some improvement.

Food is first class but customer service need to improve. Waitress and the lady behind the counter were extremely grumpy, no hi hello nothing. We are not having free food there, we are paying for the service. So please smile 😁

Horrible service, ordered a chai and it came out very cold i asked for a new one but it never arrived. By the time we had to leave she asked me if I wanted my chai after i have finished the pancakes...I said its a bit too late now! Never again! Not to mention the dirty plates and table...

The name may have changed but nothing else. Before my Mum passed this was her go-to place for waffles. I think this has become my new brunch place to go for pancakes and waffles.

Always a delight to pop in and the food never disappoints. We usually go for the blueberry pancakes with cream and ice cream or the big breakfast.

Been coming to this place since i was a kid before the name change and renovation was my favorite place for breakfast i asked the friendly staff about it and they told me it was the same place and same food so i ordered the usual with my partner we shared a big brekky and a stack of pancakes although the pancakes were the same i could not say the same for the rest of the food the eggs were terrible definitely not cooked on a pan was very dry like it was done in a microwave easily the worst eggs ive ever had the sausage was beef not pork like they used to be and was also not very nice and the toast was way over cooked and not buttered aside from all that one thing i loved about this place was when you ordered pancakes they would give you a full bottle of maple syrup to use as much as you pleased instead for 4 pancakes they gave us a small cap only half full that was bearly enough for 1 pancake its really sad that this relationship of nearly 20 years has come to an end i wish you guys didnt change your food the renovations look amazing but unfortunately its not a reflection on your food

I have been to this cafe twice in the last week and the food and service is beyond exceptional. The prices are also very reasonable compared to other cafes in the Centre. The food is modern and fresh and my first choice for cafes in Bankstown. When you are sitting there it's like you aren't even sitting in Bankstown central!!

Slowly working my way through the menu. I usually order pancakes but the rest of the menu is just as delicious 🙌

Im sorry to say i went the other day to maple and co for a meal and i have to say i was disgusted by the service and the attitude i received by an older lady not sure if she was the manager or the owner but at the end of my meal one of the young girls seen how i was frustrated and she came up to me and was so respectful and her service was so welcoming... so just to let you know if i go back it WILL be for the food and only to be served by the young lady ... lucky for the young staff at this place cause if it was for the older ladies i wouldn't be going back......

I have been coming here since before the reno's.....it's the only place to eat at bankstown I feel. The food and service are excellent, and the manager keeps her fingers on the pulse.......keep up the good work guys!

Was quite impressed with maple and co when we came here for brunch! The big brekkie - each component was seasoned well, bread was nicely buttered and everything went well together. Loved the strawberry and ricotta pancakes - the pancakes weren’t too dense and wasn’t overly sickeningly sweet. Also had a side of wedges which were crunchy and seasoned well. My boyfriend and I demolished the meal! Prices are quite good, service was efficient and plenty of seats available - will definitely be coming back!

I ordered a flat white and was given a cappuccino that was mostly foam - barely any actual coffee. I ordered a large, but the amount of coffee given was less than a small. Not wanting to cause a scene, I simply took the foam out and placed it on the cup lid. I went to the manager, not to complain about the lack of coffee, simply to ask for a new lid so I could drink the coffee remaining. The manager was incredibly rude throughout this.

I was a regular customer, visiting almost every week. I will not be coming back again.

Great awesome Fantastic pancakes. So yummy and very nicely displayed on plates. The service definitely needs improving, but those pancakes are too awesome:)

Update 2 pics of different occasions of same items - darker plates look better

Took my elderly mum here this afternoon after her cardiologist appointment. We both ordered the lasagne. When my lasagne arrived I noticed it had a watery sauce around it, whereas, my mother's lasagne didn't. There was also a corner of the lasagne that was rock hard. This was because the meal was reheated in the microwave.. for too long.. first of all, a microwave reheat is not fresh. and neither is the rock hard corner of a lasagne. I was too tired and hungry to wait for another meal to be made, let alone make a scene with mum around. But at the end I had enough and I took the plate with the uneaten corner to the counter and showed it to the waitress and asked her to take it to the chef - pointing out the hardness by tapping it with my knife. I sat back down and waited until mum finished her meal. During that time, not one staff member came to my table to apologise or offer any kind of compensation. I was just ignored with all avoiding eye contact, so I called the waitress back to ask her what chef said. She told me I would get a $2 discount off the price of the meal.

Really???

I think it's very bad service to ignore a customer and not even approach me to apologise for the over reheated microwave lasagne.

When I went to pay, I discussed this with the manager. I asked if the owner was here, and I was told no, but I was now dealing with the manager at the till. I told her that a $2 discount is unacceptable and when she asked me what I thought I should get, I told her half price.
( I should have said free) She scoffed at that and said no. So why did she ask me what I thought was fair, if she was not moving on the discount given for the meal that was not fresh and over reheated.

I told her I was discussing this with her before I left to give them a chance to rectify things. As she was not interested I said, ok, I will do a google review - which basically is there for the internet public to see.

I told her if Chef Gordon Ramsay was here he would throw it in the bin - being served a meal not fresh - but reheated in a microwave with a watery pool of sauce around it. Why was it watery? melted ice crystals? The manager did not even feel embarrassed about this.

The previous week I ate there on my own and ordered a drink called "Egyptian Ice - just like a liquid Turkish delight" . That was the description on the menu. It was nothing of that flavour. In fact it just tasted like a cold tea. Not even sweet.

I was willing to give this place a second chance, but today they blew it. I think Gordon Ramsay needs to visit them.

Pleasant cafe, with plenty of seating. Off the main thoroughfare, so a good place to relax away from the bustle. Staff are pleasant and efficient. Plenty of raw sweet options.

I had a delectable lunch of Thai Style Salt and Pepper Squid on Friday the 24th, it also came with a little cup of Thai style source.

The Squid was cooked to perfection because it was nice and tender, the salt and pepper coating was just perfect also.

I ate most of my salt and pepper squid with no sauce, so I decided to try one piece with the sauce and I really didn't like it because it just took away that beautiful coating taste of the squid.

Popped in for a quick coffee. Decent enough using Toby's Estate beans. Will definitely pop back in for a bite to eat. Currently have a deal where if you get one of the big breakfasts you get a free coffee. No coffee art though (sad face).
