Review O2 Cafe - Bassendean

Brandi House
Beautiful little Italian Restaurant. Scrumptious food with an exceptional cocktail selection. Food for the soul! Love the atmosphere & stunning wall garden. Great for a romantic dinner for two or a night out with friends & family.

Smart place. Clean. Lots of space and good eating choices. The 4 different coffees and Drink we had were good a nd tastie. Staff nice and helpful. Staff also well presented. Toilets are ok. Female toilet closer than the guys, at last one of my wifes pet peeves organised. Got there and test place out. Plenty of customers so staff do a good job.

We used to frequent O2 on a regular basis, but the last few times had had bad experiences. My partner suggested going back last weekend and I thought ok lets give it another go. Unfortunately this visit sealed the deal. The young woman who initially greeted and served us was really friendly and attentive and I must give her credit. She was the one who eventually came to check if we had received our meals, after what was a considerable wait (we hadn't). I was actually quite surprised at the wait given how many staff were on that day, however they all seemed to be preoccupied preparing for a function that was on later that day. When our meals arrived, they were underwhelming to say the least. My partner noticed that the tomatoes were missing from his breakfast and I noticed that I was also missing something from mine. His eggs also looked a strange colour. I made my way up to the counter to speak to someone and again had to wait, while staff walked past me into the function area. Eventually I spoke to someone and who said that she would check for us. When she came back she said, I'm sorry we seem to have run out of the tomatoes and the cheese for your order. I understand that sometimes this will happen, however communicate this! Tell your staff so that they can communicate this to the customer. Were your chefs just expecting us not to notice that they were missing? $25 for a big breakfast that looked like this (see photo) is beyond disappointing. May I suggest you go back to focussing on the basics, good value and good service. In the meantime there are plenty of other great cafes in Bassendean that deserve my support.

I love a big (really, I should share) vegetarian breakfast and good coffee, early on Saturday morning. Friendly staff and comfortable environment, accessible if you have a wheelchair or mobility issues. The green plant life and room to breathe make this a well named venue. A local favourite.

Came here by chance as I was stopping through Bassendean on my way home, was extremely hungry and asked the woman if the breakfast menu was the only one they had, if they had other menus, she told me that's the only one, disappointed with the lack of choices I ordered the pancakes, which was almost $17, sat down, a staff member got me some water for the table which was nice, ended up waiting quite a while for my order, then it was served to me, great presentation but for almost $17 I expected more, I got two really thin pancakes (most places give you more), a few berries, one small scoop of ice cream which wasn't much at all, and one of the pancakes was completely burned on the bottom side. Wasn't too happy with what I got, only upside was the staff were polite, not too sure I'll be going back though, for that amount most places would serve more with less waiting time.

The vegan stack is huge and so tasty. Lovely coffee and friendly staff. Everything always comes out quick too. Also plants, so yeah five stars.

Good breakfast. Coffee was a little bitter. Opted for the vegan breakfast; beautiful, fresh veggies and a tasty meal!

Mid morning Sunday visit; service was prompt and orders came out fast. Eggs hollandaise was a good serve and coffee was decent. Small collection of pens and toys kept children entertained.

Place looks very hipster and seems to still be under refurb mode. Orange & ginger juice, no ginger but eggs hollandaise with ham tasty - recommended! As long as music doesn’t go louder, then a return visit is in the cards

Place is cute but unfortunately the lack of food choices for lunch fails. Prices a little above average. Good little coffee place to go to down that little Old Perth Road strip. Service a little average, especially when it’s ‘busy’. I recommend you try it too. Always good to support local businesses.

A great little gem of a cafe! They have a variety of plants and other little gifts available for purchase. I love the way they have brought nature into the cafe and the industrial layout. The menu is fantastic and the food is devine. They even offer a variety of milks for all dietary needs! Highly recommend

The interior of the cafe truly gives you a sense of escape with its abundance of plants and natural finishings. Food is simple but well executed and very affordable. Staff are great and the coffee definitely did its job.

Beautiful cafe filled with plants. A great and really affordable menu with options for kids. Cafe also has games for kids and a basket of free fruit for them. Food and coffee were great and arrived quickly. Staff were lovely.

Lovely fresh and vibrant cafe with lots of little homewares you can purchase. The service was great however our eggs weren't runny! Will definitely be back to give it another go

My husband and I dined here for breakfast this morning before hitting up the markets, and O2 Cafe does not disappoint! We were welcomed in with smiles, even though it was extremely busy and the young staff would have been put under pressure. The decor is very relaxing, filled with an abundance of foliage for display and also for purchase. The cafe also had sourced some local soaps that they had on display for sale near our table, so the scent of them was very pleasant.<br/><br/>I ordered a flat white in a mug, which was massive! I had to get hubby help me finish it before it went cold. Very delicious, one of the best coffees I've had for a long time. For food I ordered the Vegetarian Breakfast, which was decent value for $18. It came with 2 massive slices of sourdough, homemade beans, poached eggs, avocado, mushroom, baby spinach and also their version of hashbrowns, which I had hoped would be bigger, but they were still very yummy. My eggs were poached to perfection. Hubby ordered eggs benny which he said tasted yum too. <br/><br/>The service was amazing. Quick service, food came out in a timely manner, and multiple staff came to our table to make sure everything was perfect, which we appreciated. Over all, we will definitely be back to O2 Cafe!

Had eggs Benedict with salmon and avocado here was good service and coffee. Pretty quick for breakfast and very nice layout of cafe. Come here for coffee every now and then and wouldn't say my favourite bean but still lovely.

Waited 20 minutes for takeaway coffee last year. Deja vu Monday morning. There was someone doing coffee and six floor staff. Got my money back and left. Sad.

Breakfast at O2 wasnt great but not bad either. I had Cheese Melt Toasts and Hubby had Omelette. They tasted okay but not wow. If they give some tomato relish for the omelette, it'd bring the dish a notch up. They use 5Senses coffee beans which is one of my favs, but the coffee didnt impress me much. Service was good, friendly staffs.

This place has a Great atmosphere, the interior reminds me of a cafe I love down south in Margaret river. Coffee is great and the food is delicious.

Went there with my Mother today for lunch. The staff were very helpful. We ordered the Persian Burgers, very tasty. Décor very nice, plant prices a little high but maybe they don't want to sell the decorations. I don't understand the negative reviews. They are not trying to be McDonalds, if you want fast service go there instead.

Have been here twice both times we ordered and waited for 40mins and both times they forgot our order ,it wasn,t even busy won,t go back after service like that

Drinks were nice. Food sucked. Chicken burger was drenched in oil, and the eggs benny was a ham overload with soggy untoasted bread and the poorest excuse for a hollandaise I've come across. Come here if you want to buy a plant, but a garden store is most likely cheaper.

We've only recently dared to come back to this place after their opening debacle (years? ago), and sorry we left it so long. The pancakes with bacon are really nice, not too heavy or too desert-y, banana smoothie is lovely too. The downer was the 'eggs your way', (scrambled) were very oily and the toast served with oil and no butter... a bit gross. But everything else really very light and fresh.

Gorgeous cafe for a coffee, lunch, or breakfast! Or was fresh, and the staff are super friendly. And the actual fit out of the building is amazing. Highly recommend!

O2 is a beautifully fitted café, with a great atmosphere, seating was well spaced - you don't feel like you are sitting on top of others.  The service was friendly, efficient and quick and though the menu isn't huge there was plenty of choice, and we chose the Sunday special - both meals were delicious, in fact the best smashed avo yet.  The bread is cut thin so plenty of crunch and they butter it!  such a treat nowadays , usually have to BYO butter.  Tea selection was fantastic and my coffee was the best coffee I've had in a café in Perth. Very happy O2 is local.

Had a relaxing breakfast with my husband in this little gem. We literally stumbled across O2 and thought why not and we loved it. Great prices, coffee was so good we had one with our meal and one to go (my husband even rated this as 2 thumbs up and that's a big call!) <br/>Avo smash with feta; bread well toasted, not overly thick - our preference - generous amounts of avocado and feta with a beautifully poached egg on top. <br/>Will be back for more very soon!

Our usual little breakfast spot down the road was too busy to fill us in so we endeavoured down the road to O2 cafe which caught our eye as we walked down Old Perth road. O2 presents itself as a fresh alternative to other breakfast spots in Bassendean and it might just be the presence of the striking green fake plants plastered all over the walls and tables that gave me that impression. There is much needed competition and I'm glad 02 has popped up. I had the savoury breakfast crossiant and for $10 i felt satisfied but not overwhelmed by my choice. My brother, however, opted for the big breakfast ($22) which as the name implies was rather large. He mentioned that everything was at a good temperature and nothing was cold on the plate, i guess that was a nice feature. We both went for the iced lattes ($6) which were also both quite satisfying and not too sweet at all. I cant fault this place and i hope it succeeds in presenting a challenge to Into the Woods down the road.

Unfinished decor and hit and miss coffee. Confused staff but lots of potential! Will check back in a few months to see if they have found their feet.

The staff here are friendly. If you have dogs with you, you can sit at the outside window. There's a good selection of breakfast and lunch foods at decent prices. The lattes are good ($3.50 for a small takeaway). The icing on the hedgehog slices ($4.50) is on the softer side, which I enjoy.
