Review Banjos Cafe - Bathurst

Very busy lunch time visit today been here a few times but unlikely to come back coffee served after a 30 minute wait & in a chipped mug & cold! - rarely do I ask for a replacement, but today I did same mug I think it was just microwaved.:-( Nachos & Sweet potato frys came out after 40 minutes Nachos cold & frys hot so I suppose just eat as already paid & vote with your feet sad as this used to be a good venue...busy lunch time crowd or not.To note the floors were strewn with straws sugar wrappers food bits etc & staff just walking over it no effort to show pride in the venue presentation. Very sad as I said it was a venue of good food & presentable.So off to another Cafe or Pub in future.

Whenever we visit Bathurst, this is our go to place for excellent food and service. I ordered a hamburger as shown and it was delicious. I also had a chocolate milkshake. Great value and the presentation is awesome.

Honestly this is a beautiful cafe. Great coffee! However the service that we experienced really let it down. As soon as we entered the cafe, we were rudely and loudly informed that “um the grill is actually off”. i understand that we were being told not to order food as they were closing a whole hour after we walked in, but the way we were yelled at is honestly not okay. Furthermore, there was half empty drinks and rubbish everywhere behind the counter which was quite off-putting. Finally, along with being blunt, the staff seemed to be very slack, leaning around and having loud conversations. mentioning that customers were still here, like they wanted us to leave. This was an hour before closing! I have no problem with a relaxed environment, but the staff comes across as very unprofessional. I understand that the cafe was closing (in a whole hour though) but that is no reason to make customers feel unwelcome.

I spent 20 on a cheese melt and a thickshake, it was a good feed and enjoyed it. HOWEVER few hours later I got incredibly nasty food poisoning; the bacon was off on the cheese melt. It pretty much ruined the rest of the day which I had so much to do, and writing this I’m still unwell. I’m incredibly disappointed as every other time I ate there has been good, but if they’re serving me bad bacon, I’m not going back to risk it.

The food was good until it switched management. I ordered a wrap as a take away. They burnt it and I had to remind them of my order just to receive it. I later threw it all up.

1st time eating there was awesome great food and coffee ,very friendly and welcoming staff

Had a putrid take away coffee here yesterday. It tasted like my 1 year old made a Nescafe blend 43 instant coffee.
