Review Arthur Street Cafe - Baulkham Hills

Peter
We got served and seated straight away. Very friendly and professional staff. Food was great. Shared a hot Chick and Waffles. Food came out quick too and was very tasty and we'll presented. We'll be back when passing through. Thanks

Delightful suburban cafe hidden amongst a small strip of shops in Baulkham Hills. Interesting and amusing meal names, wide menu selection including all day breakfast items. Quite popular with the locals, very highly recommend. There's also an overflow downstairs and outdoor seating area.

How on earth do they have 4.3 stars? The pizza I ordered had nearly raw veggies and absolutely no crust. Did they microwave the pizza and threw in some steamed veg on top? Huge cubes of raw eggplant, on a doughy bread with raw sauce and almost no cheese.

We have been here a few times now, including getting takeaway during lockdowns, and we are never disappointed by the food and drinks on offer. The menu is fun and creative, the presentation is always beautiful. So Mushroom In My Belly is a great option for those who enjoy diverse textures and savoury foods, and Bananarama is a favourite for the beautiful presentation and banana brulee. The sweet potato chips hit a good balance between crunchy outside and fluffy inside. I didn't love the golden latte (too strong for me) but they were super understanding and swapped it for another drink for me no worries.

I’m sorry guys but after reading the reviews for your cafe we decided to stop in for lunch. One review stated “ Top Class Food”. Wow!! Really!! What my wife and I was serviced was definitely not top class food. It was very average to say the least. Both the morning Glory meal and the Halloumi Burger were disappointing!! On the other hand the chips were very nice! Service was good!! Coffee nothing special to be honest!! Fresh juice was lovely! I always base my honest feedback on would I return and recommend and on this occasion it’s a no!! 5/10 and being generous

I’ve had their meals more than once and they are consistently on point and accomodating. So nice to know every time will be consistently great tasting and well made! Loved their pavlova platters (such huge servings!) and recently tried their high tea- so tasty! Great ingredients and presentation and a true hidden gem in the local area!

Always friendly service. The food was delicious, and they had pink themed food for breast-cancer awareness month. This place gets busy on weekends, so I'd recommend booking ahead

On my visit list from a few months now and finally made it. I recommend making a table booking in advance or be prepared for a long wait. Coming to food, the place doesn't dissapoint. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. Service is slow though thanks to all table occupied and everyone wanting to try something new. A little pricey but then once in a while for a change, lovely to visit a Cafe and indulge in good food!

I had lunch here today with my family. It was the perfect place to escape the cold with its warm and friendly staff. I got the signature Arthur Street French Toast which was delicious and my partner got the fried chicken .. also fantastic. Then we enjoyed one of their delicious homemade cakes. I highly recommend Arthur Street Cafe for it's warm and friendly service and sensational meals. I can't wait to come back to the best place in the hills!

I love this place and have always enjoyed the food. Today I left extremely disappointed. We ordered the famous Arthur Street French Toast and it was nothing like what I expected. Having ordered this several times before, it came as quite a shock to see the French toast being placed in front of me. There was no love given to the meal. Definitely not picture worthy compared to the meals that Arthur Street Cafe normally serves. To add insult to injury the staff explained that this was the new French toast recipe. The menu made no reference to the French toast being changed, which is extremely misleading. Please bring back the old French toast. The famous Arthur Street Cafe French Toast. The one showered with lots of love.

Friendly service. Happy place. Efficient. Great food. One lady in our group who had the burger option said she had tasted better, however the remaining 7 of us were delighted. We will definitely go back again!

The food here is absolutely delicious and staff couldn't be nicer! Just remember to make a booking especially on a weekend or you may be in for a bit of a wait... totally worth it though!

We went to Arthur Street Cafe yesterday morning for high tea and it was absolutely amazing. There was a large range of teas to choose from and the food was absolutely delicious. Despite arriving extremely hungry we were all very full afterwards, very satisfying and overall a great experience. Would recommend to all!

Great coffee, amazing food and lovely friendly service. Breakfast and High Tea were both amazing, and the kids menu is great too!

Got recommended this place by some mates. Great big servings, loved the Beef burger followed by coffee. Will be back with the family.

Customer service was of the highest order and the food was pretty good too. Found this place on yelp as I’m not familiar with Baulkham Hills, but will definitely be making the trip their for breakfast again..

Faboulous service and delicious food. We went there on Mother's Day for brunch, the service was amazing although the cafe was super crowded (luckily, we could get a table very quick). We would definitely go back again.

Love this place I come here almost every day for a take away coffee and every time it is so awesome Best place to get a coffee first thing in the morning

Great cafe for kids and excellent food. Highly recommended and the best cafe in the area.

I have been here a few times now and I have enjoyed every visit. Today I came with a client who was having some issues and the staff, particularly the owner, went above and beyond to assist her. So helpful and kind! Wonderful service!

Great local Cafe.. very good coffee and brekky. Also very nice and friendly staff. Never get disappointed with their breakfast menu. Highly recommend it if you live around and look for a good place to eat.

Friendly staff and a nice place for brunch. But the servings were a bit on the smaller size and the poached egg was over cooked. But other than that it was delicious, especially the smashed avocado bruschetta !

You won’t find anything gimmicky or particularly whacky on their single paged menu, but it’s simple classic café offerings are are what make it a local favourite. The Acai bowl, which is the usual Açaí smoothie blend topped with toasted muesli and fresh fruit along with a coconut & chia pudding. Nothing out of the ordinary, but it’s clear that this simple combination works well judging from the number of people who order this bowl!

This was a surprise find. A friend and I came here for lunch and ended up ordering their high tea. A very generous serve for what we paid in comparison to other places in Sydney/hills area. Although I think they may have changed owners, so not certain if they're still offering this or only for special occasions?

The food was served with a pleasing appearance and the taste made it better. The features of the shop were simple yet antique-like and had a very comforting vibe.
One of the staffs didn't provide help and she seemed very out of it. However the staff that did help were absolutely friendly.

My regular local brunch spot. The acai bowl was tasty and refreshing on a hot summer day. The acai and coconut chia pudding was a delicious combination. Lots of fresh fruit as toppings!

✔️ My cousin recommended this local cafe to me so decided to go here for a nice brunch with my mum. Appealing menu and the helpful staff were great with explaining a few items on the menu. Started with regular and soy lattes and they were pretty nice. I ordered the baked eggs without cheese as I can't have cheese, and my mum got the bacon and egg roll. Both were nice but average. Loves the pesto sauce on the baked eggs and the fresh crispy bread that came with it. The bacon and egg roll was the highlight as the bacon was crunchy and the sunny side up egg was cooked especially well with a perfect yolk.

❌ The baked eggs were really average. The eggs were supposed to be poached and are supposed to be runny when you cut it open. The eggs themselves were so overcooked and were actually hard boiled instead of poached. You can get baked eggs a lot better pretty much anywhere else.

Food: 3/5
Presentation: 4/5
Service: 3/5
Location: 3/5

Amazing cafe, atmosphere and fast friendly service. I recommend the poached coconut chicken salad, large portion sizes and delicious👌🏼 Also very accommodating for babies

Came at Arthur Street Cafe to check out the brunch scene around the area.

We found in Arthur a lovely venue with friendly service and quite good quality food.
We ordered their Welness Salad and the Superfood Salad on top of 2 coffees.

The salads were fresh and quite tasty, maybe they should change the way the julienne as the strings were too long to eat. However, the let down was the coffee, unfortunately not uo to standards.

Thank you for having us 🙏

Visited with friends. Very noisy and overcrowded cafe. Mismatched decor. Staff seemed flustered and overwhelmed. Food ok but charge the same as cafes in the inner west and harbour without the view. Coffee is ok but expensive. Large is almost $5. The most I have paid in the inner west is $4 for the same size.

The turmeric latte was different, better than expected. Watermelon juice was quite watery and barely had any flavour however. All the food was good, would recommend swapping double cream for ice cream instead with the Arthur Street Famous French Toast. They swapped this for me with no fuss nor any extra charges so that was great. Great local spot and wouldn't mind coming here again.

Ever since management or ownership changed this has become one of our favourite cafes anywhere in the west. Great atmosphere, prompt service, good food.

Awesome little cafe with great food & really friendly, attentive staff. Turmeric latte was beautiful! Will definitely be returning again soon.

A sweet little cafe nestled in the hills. It's evident it gets its fair share of regulars and for good reason too. The staff are all lovely and the food is pretty good. A great post grocery shopping pit stop for coffee.
Abbott And Abbess
Interesting cafe for a small line of shops in the suburbs of Baulkham Hills.

They serve breakfast and lunch menu and an assortment of desert items. The home made cakes are very good.

We have eaten great burgers, crispy sweet potato chips that you want to keep eating and the deserts!

The service was quick and atmosphere great. However, the waiter asked if we wanted an upgrade to wedges, which we chose, then it came out as sweet potato chips, without a choice. Although the chips were great, no mention by the waiter was poor service. They had run out of wedges and made the decision without asking.

We would return.

Nice food and quick customer service . I've had the bacon and egg roll here and it was deliciously juicy and the egg was cooked perfectly. The French toast is also really good here. The coffee is adore estate coffee which is best with milk.

Relaxing, yummy and fulfilling lunch. Came here as I had heard good things about it from a friend and was not disappointed!! My husband had the burger which I had a bite of. It was delicious and you could tell that care had gone into making it. I had the lamb wrap which was equally as delicious. We polished it off with some chocolate cake. Normally I would never order cakes at cafes as they are often insipid, dry, coming from the same factory. These were not!! Homemade with the best chocolate icing I've ever had.

I have found the most delightful child-friendly high tea (oxymoron?) right here in the Hills!! And I don't just mean that babycinos are on the menu - this place really knows the mummy market!! Fish-tank by the front counter, a Thomas and Friends play table up the back, right next to the Lego wall and book stand. Downstairs, a cubby house, chalk wall and a plethora of toys to keep the littlies occupied long enough for you to have a hot drink. Word is getting out fast though, so make sure you book ahead.
Little Munch
Portions are big and reasonably priced. Their lunch menu for kids is brilliant at $8.90 and you get a juice, milkshake or frozen yoghurt included. There isn't a breakfast menu for kids but quite a few choices off the adult menu can satisfy the hungriest of little bulls.

Family Celebration. We had a most enjoyable family celebration at Arthur St Cafe. The food was great, service was excellent and the staff were friendly and very obliging. A great find, we will be back for sure!

Awesome food !. Had breaki at the cafe today, absolutely divine!! Had the haloumi bruschetta and it was just amazing. The coffee was hot to perfection and the staff were just so friendly and welcoming. I met the owner Jo and it was a delight to have a conversation with her. I highly recommend this cafe! Will be a regular :))

Nice neighbourhood cafe. A little overpriced for what you get, but the interior is really spacious and nice. Coffee is good as well. A heads up there is a $10 eftpos minimum

Great atmostphere, fantastic food!!!. Only by chance did I discover this amazing café. Very friendly atmosphere, the coffee was fantastic and the breakfast divine. We ordered the Haloumi bruschetta and the French toast, which were amazing (I highly recommend)!!! I can't wait to return when I am in the area next.

Love it. Went to Arthurs today to find out it was under new management and my overall impression was great. The food was really tasty and came out fast. The coffee was amazing and nice not to have to go to a shopping centre just to have a coffee and cake
It did cost a little more than the old Arthurs but no more than any other cafe in the area.

Mean Cuisine. This cafe is under new management so we were looking forward to trying it as we live locally.

We ordered poached eggs on toast + scrambled eggs on toast, each with a side of mushrooms. The side of mushrooms was incredibly stingy, each serve costing $3 consisting of 1 1/2 mushrooms each (so $6 all up).

These mushrooms were the very small, about the size of a 50 cent piece. When we questioned if this was classed an an extra, we were told that the mushrooms were special "field mushrooms" and cost more than buttons.

Our toast was only toasted on one side and was barely toasted at that.

Classic "mean cuisine".

Eggs were quite nice, but cold. They need a plate warmer.
