Delicious, modern cuisine that continually evolves with the seasons. The friendly, attentive staff always make you feel special whether celebrating a major occasion or just having a casual night out. Our favourite destination anywhere in Bayside hands down.

Delicious food, great service

Very laid back and casual. Dined out in the court yard, only people there except for the chef collecting herbs and garnishings. Good to know it was fresh. Our host was extremely pleasant and made us very welcome. The food was excellent. Shared an entree, then a main , very tasty followed by a dessert. Walked away knowing that I had had just enough.Will definitely be back. Prices reasonable. Full marks to host and staff.

This restaurant was quite the surprise. We walked in off the street to a fantastic night from start to finish. The food was delicious and the hospitality equally as nice. Thank you for a great evening. We will certainly return and tell our friends and family

Great atmosphere and even better food. We went last night and it was quieter being a Sunday but enough people to still have a great atmosphere, service was very good and food was fantastic. Nice to find something so good so close to home, we will be back.

Great relaxed atmosphere with high end cuisine. The menu changes seasonally, based around local produce, but always includes a duck special which changes daily. The owner hand picks and trains the staff, who all have a good passion and knowledge for food and service, and a good knowledge of the menu.

It used to be so much better. It took 3 tries before anyone confirmed our booking, we requested a table that suited us and the kids & being 9 of us and a birthday & Mother’s Day get together we thought they’d accommodate - but nothing but a 3 word response on email saying we were booked and then the table given to the hosts friends despite him saying it had been prebooked for a long time. Not buying it. We were sat at a table right in the middle with waiters bumping into our babies high chair all night. Service was dull and we bought a pricey bottle of red that was an open bottle when it arrived at the table? And not great. Saganaki was a wedge of cheese, the dips and bread tasteless, my parents both found the swordfish dry and tasteless and couldn’t finish it, 3 of us had pasta & were very underwhelmed. Smaller portions now too. It used to be so good but it’s just not the same after it’s changed hands. We won’t be back.

We had a really great dinner here tonight. Both of our steaks were perfectly cooked, delicious wine and a very relaxed family friendly atmosphere.

What a hidden gem, inspired menu, great food, wonderful attentive staff and and a relaxed casual atmosphere. Our party of 6 all left this restaurant as raving fans ... we will all be back. Do yourself a favour and eat at this wonderful establishment. Highly recommended

Had an all round superb dinner experience on Sunday night. We arrived without reservation at 6pm and was warmly greeted and shown to a table. The menu and in particular the Specials board was explained to us with enthusiastic detail. The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. For entré we had the 65/65 egg and Fried chicken. For Mains we had the pan fried Barramundi and the Duck Gallotine, wow, food that looked great and tasted even better! For desserts we had the delightful Lemon curd and the magnificent Chocolate Soufle. The soufle was light, tall and the most delicious soufle I've had in years. Combine that with the friendly and knowledgeable customer service and you're on a winner!

Loved everything about this place. One of the best meals I've had in a long time. The atmosphere and decor was beautiful and the staff friendly and attentive. Highly recommended and can't wait to go again!

Had a great night at Six Keys - Sarah was kind enough to allow us the private dinning room for the 7 of us - we have been coming here for a while now and Sarah and team welcomed us all back perfectly . The food was sensational and great wine - thanks for making a great night !

Fantastic food, lovely place and people. There are not many places which has good food for adults and kids with a great welcoming atmosphere for all the family. We will definately be going again!

Enjoyed the Rib Eye steak and it was a Perfect medium rare! Best steak I have had in a while highly recommend this place to everyone!

40th Birthday Celebration - 18 guests <br/><br/>Let me share with you I was uncomfortable from the beginning when trying to book this restaurant for my daughters birthday but she wanted to go there as it had fond memories for her. I had had no response to numerous emails and phone messages when trying to book, it was only because my daughter went there for dinner she was able to speak to Dave and book, I made several calls leading up to the event to confirm prices, could we BYO (of which we never told there was corkage), and believe it or not my daughter got a call the Monday leading up to her birthday asking if we were still coming.  To this day I have had one phone call conversation out of all the emails and phone messages left. <br/><br/> We were rushed to sit down, shared entrees put in front of us, when a guest asked if they could pay extra and choose off the menu the response was no, but not in a nice way, snapped at.  <br/> <br/>Not one drink was poured for us we were given ice buckets and glasses and the rest was up to us. <br/> <br/>Our main came out straight after the shared entrée, and then Dave wanted me to do the cake straight away, I asked for 15 minutes but it was never that, we were out the door by 9am which was meant to be a family celebration, people came from a long way to share this moment and we had just over 2 hours together. <br/> <br/>We were charged $10 per bottle for corkage, not one drink was poured for us<br/><br/>This restaurant was once jam packed with people on this night there was no more than 10 who all left early, I know what has changed but do you as owners of the restaurant, the service was terrible the food was ok but definitely not up to what it used to be. <br/> <br/>It was clear to me Dave the owner didn't want to be there, and it showed by the service and lack of people in the restaurant.

We dined here recently and picked it based on its rating but sadly it didn’t quite hit the mark... presentation was fine but the Maryland chicken and gnocchi was small and over cooked, served with 5 (yes 5) pieces of gnocchi. Steak was good but the tiramisu sounded better than it was (I’m so sad to say). Top marks for ambiance but not quite up to scratch.

A delicious fine dining hidden gem in Beaumaris! Great food and always presented nicely! Such a great addition to Beaumaris situated down Keys Street!

An inspiring menu, great service, and the cocktail menu is amazing!! Would 100% recommend for families, couples or special events. I'm vegetarian and although the set menu doesn't have the widest range of choice, the specials did! I had the special flatbread, some sides, and the snow fairy cocktail.

My partner and I have just had lunch at the 6 Keys Restaurant in Beaumaris. We were greeted by 2 young males who explained in detail what each dish entailed. After ordering, our meal was promptly served. Everything was to our liking. The 2 young males even took time out of their busy schedule to chat to us and make sure we were satisfied. When dessert was served that was something to remember, it was delicious. <br/>I have dined at restaurants, clubs and pubs in all states of Australia as well as eating places overseas and I have yet to be treated as we were treated at 6 Keys Restaurant. The owner should be proud of them.

Wow we couldn’t get into Japanese restaurant and how lucky we are to walk into Six Keys. Great friendly staff and even better food. Had the best seafood linguini I have ever had. Can’t wait to come back and try other dishes.

We have been frequent diners at this wonderful establishment for around 3 years. They change their menu regularly and you always get high end restaurant fare, no fast fix family meals to let you down. One of the few places you can go to and leave it up to your waitress to recommend. Only issue we have here is sometimes they forget you when first seated - please take a drink order before leaving us to amuse ourselves

Had a wonderful evening at Six Keys where we held our end of year client function.  We had a 3 course set menu, which was great value for money.  The entrees were shared and all were amazing.  We then got to chose our main and dessert from 4 to 5 choices.  All the choices were delicious and plentiful, and everyone enjoyed their meals.  The wait staff were amazing, very attentive and given it was an extremely hot night, made sure there was plenty of water on the table.<br/>Highly recommend for dinner and a function!

really nice place, for family, friends get together, for solo , for working. They have big and small table, really relax and good atmosphere. For the food, also really good presentation, taste good. The duck liver and Raspberry Soufflé really amazing, because not many restaurants provide this dessert in Menu. Such a good place, I would like to go again:)

After walking past this restaurant many times, I can now say I've finally tried it. The service and atmosphere was nice. They have an extensive wine list, a number of share plates and main meals, as well as specials. I order the seafood linguine and my partner ordered the eye fillet. My linguine was delicious but it needed more seafood. My partner's eye fillet was cooked to perfection and accompanied by roasted cauliflower and house made chips. <br/><br/>Overall an enjoyable meal, we will be back!

Went to Six Keys last night with the family. What a fantastic, hidden gem. From the specials that my wife and I had to the kids meals - I could not fault this place. Service was impeccable. Highly recommend.

Consistently great food. Eye fillet is perfectly cooked every time. Sarah and the team provide great very friendly service. This is a favourite in the area.

Really great local eatery. I had the duck special which was really tasty, albeit ever so slightly over seasoned. My partner got the salmon which looked great and tasted great too. We shared pork belly sliders to begin and they were great! Overall a great bayside restaurant and service from the staff was noteworthy - really on point.

We discovered this gorgeous little gem tonight and can't wait to go back there again soon. The restaurant is warm and cozy and the staff attentive and very friendly. We enjoyed delicious tender steaks with beautiful sides and lovely wine. A perfectly relaxing Saturday night dinner ❤️

This place is amazing. The menu changes but it's always fantastic in every element on the plate! Highlights include the pate and crusty bread, soft shell crab, slow cooked meat, and very nice soufflé! Love that they have Shaw and Smith on the wine list. Decor is cosy and romantic. Perfect!

I was looking for a place in Beaumaris and found here on Zomato. Most times you find that the review is written by a friend or relative.<br/>The meal was just perfect. Entree and mains were spot on. Very good price points too.<br/>Had the calamari and the croquettes for entree.<br/>Then the Barramundi and Duck for mains. The Duck was magnificent.<br/>Thank you guys for a great meal. <br/>I will be back again...<br/>P.S. Great wait staff too...

Celebrated a milestone birthday with a group of friends at Six Keys. At last......a reasonably priced bayside restaurant with great food, and great service. All 12 of us were more than happy with the food. And the service was casual, courteous and timely. We will all be back for sure.

Great gem of bayside. Food is great and staff proactive. But the souffle is incredible here. Noisy place but this adds to the atmosphere I suppose.

Highly recommend their Passion fruit soufflé, taste like heaven. Not too sweet and the texture was so smooth!<br/>Their entrées are very appetising.👍<br/>Main courses are delicious and filling.

nice atmosphere happy staff forgot one entree bread came near end of main. two dishes were great the prawn linguine was tasteless. probably not great seafood used. hope they get it right as it's got the right idea.

Great local restaurant. The food is great and the service is top notch. I always go for the souffle here. They do it well. The only downside it gets really noisy. They need to install some acoustic panels to bring the noise level down as it is hard to have a conservation with your partner...

Excellent customer service. After the 'breakdown' of 6 Keys online booking system last night (30/5/2015), we had little choice but to wait around in the hope of a free table or move on elsewhere to enjoy the evening. As it was my friend's birthday we decided to move on, as we could see that we were not the only clients with booking issues! While disappointed we did not get to dine at 6 Keys, we were unbelievably impressed that maître de, not only rang to tell us a table had become free (unfortunately I didn't hear my phone in my bag!), but she also walked around to the nearby restaurant we dined in, to try and find us! She then apologised once again for the booking problem and offered to pay for our corkage and bread at the restaurant we'd moved to!! UNBELIEVABLE! So impressed by her professionalism and service. Unheard of! We will definitely be heading to 6 Keys again soon, although.... I'll book the old fashioned way next time!!!

Our Wedding!. In March of 2015 we had our Wedding Reception at 6 Keys & we couldn't have asked for anything better! <br/>Sarah & her team worked tirelessly with us before, during & after the wedding. <br/>Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for Sarah, no matter what the request was she was able to facilitate us (and all of our guests).<br/>Everyone commented on how amazing the food was & how great the service was, "it was like one big party". <br/>Sarah & her head chef Shane worked with us to create the perfect menu for us, & nothing was too much trouble. <br/>There is a court yard at the rear of the premises where we started with drinks & canapés, it was perfect. <br/>The price was much better then a function centre & it felt like everyone cared so much about all of our guests.<br/>We had such an amazing time & I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Genuine Feedback. We've just recently moved to the area and was very excited to try this place out. We're part of the wave of young families moving from the inner city to bayside. First of all, this place does a lot of things right. The fitout, decor and feel is unique and works for this establishment and location. So props for not trying to be a warehouse converted cafe in Brunswick, old shoe store in Northcote or old and converted Coin Laundry in Armadale. <br/><br/>The food however is sub-par and the coffee is terrible. Whilst that comment bucks the trend of what has been written about this place I suspect that the other reviewers genuinely believe the food and coffee is great because they haven't tried the other places in the inner city (I won't name names, but a quick search on Broadsheet will reveal who I am talking about). So far, we love Beaumaris and can't believe how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful place. However, the hospitality industry here needs to pick up its game. The area is becoming more gentrified by younger families who appreciate good coffee, food and wine. I have no doubt that we will see a lot of change in the area in the next few years (which has started to take place in neighbouring Black Rock, a la Ebenezer) but it would be great if some of the already established places in Beaumaris started to take note of the changing views/needs of the area.

Always a great place for dinner. We eat here every few weeks or so, and it's always great. Staff are friendly, food is exceptional, try the pate its great! Very inviting.

Great gem of a place.. Great find. Fabulous dinner here the other night. The duck and the steak dish were lovely. And the raspberry souffle was just heaven. Service was a bit slow but it was pretty packed. Can't wait to return to try rest of the menu.

Hit and Miss. Seven of us had dinner here to celebrate a birthday. It was a very busy night and the service reflected this . We did have to wait quite a long time between courses and obviously the servers were under pressure. Having said that one of the waitresses who is very good did apologise for the delay during the night. The food was a mixed bag really. Some of the dishes were successful and others not so much. I had the gnocchi special which as disappointing. Gnocchi should be light and fluffy in texture but these were firm and rubbery. If they can't make gnocchi to the standard that diners expect then they shouldn't be on the menu. It also lacked seasoning. The desserts were well presented and tasty but they need to expand the dessert menu. The other mains were good though the duck was small in portion size. Overall, there is room for improvement and a restaurant with potential if they can fix up a few problems.

Can't Fault six keys!. We have been here many times and they never disappoint!! The duck is always a winner and the desserts are amazing!! Although a little pricey, always worth it!

Wow, what a great restaurant! We ordered multiple entree's and a pizza to share - every plate was delicious! The soufflé & profiterole desserts went to another level! We'll be back

Excellent. Stumbled across this restaurant by accident after living locally for 2 years - what a find !! Owners wher very welcoming, couldn't fault the food, their warm homemade bread .......yum, I wonder if they would share that recipi with me. Looking forward to returning soon.

Wonderful food, excellent service and lovely ambiance!. We absolutely love going to Six Keys when we come back to Melbourne and always make sure to have at least one or two dinners there. The staff are fantastic and really understand the requirements for gluten free. Some of my favourites are the chilli prawns, steak and definitely the raspberry souffle. Yum! Can't wait to go back!

A beautiful meal finished with desert to die for. Highly recommended...<br/>Last night was the second time eating at Six Keys. Like the first time, we walked in the door and were greeted with a welcoming smile. The service though out the whole night was outstanding. <br/>From our starters to our mains it was all absolutly delicious and cooked to perfection, the night was topped off with some of the most mouth watering deserts thet were absolutly to die for...<br/>overall We were all very satisfied happy customers

A Jewel in Beaumaris. Six Keys is hidden away from the main Concourse area of Beaumaris, just off Beach Road, but it is so worth finding. It has a great bistro atmosphere and food to match, with a specials board changing daily and a fair selection of reasonably priced wines. A restaurant for couples, families and a special occasion - give it a go, you will return!

We've just left from our first time dining here and I am super impressed. We are all involved in the industry and passionate about food and service and this place was wonderful! The food was yummy, the atmosphere was relaxed and the staff were so personable. They were so sweet to the children! Great elegant little place for a lovely comfortable meal! We will be back :)

Good atmosphere. Diverse menu. <br/>Steak was not cooked correctly. Came out rare asked for well done. Slow on service. Forgot out salad but did not charge. Agree with others. Good for the burbs. No real highlights.

Delicious !!. When you walk in the front door your met with a smile and aromas of the wonderful meal to follow. Great service and great food! Anywhere that can cook a 350g Rib Eye EXACTLY medium rare is perfect in my eyes! ~ The creamy pepper sauce is as described....

Impressive. After hearing about this place for so long, we had to give it a go and we were not disappointed. The restaurant has a great fitout and feel of a french style setting, and our waitress was fantastic. When our meals arrived everything we ate was amazing with flavour! It really is a great place for food, ambience and service. Why didn't we try this place sooner!

BEST DUCK IN TOWN!. Went to six keys last night and had the duck breast wiyh orange sauce. The duck was cooked to perfection and around the outside was these crunchy mandarin flavored things, they were out of this world. The waitress told me it was freeze dried mandarin, I have really never had anything like it. The old chef seems to be back and the food has definitely been turned up a notch. Great job guys.

Fantastic fare in the burbs!!. I absolutely loved our dining experience at 6 Keys in Beaumaris. It was our monthly get together - ladies only- and we loved it that much we booked for the next two months - think we have found our favourite place to eat at!! I was impressed with the fact that not only did they have a fish of the day they also had a duck of the day. Cuisine is a mix of Italian and French inspired dishes. The desserts were heavenly. The service was fantastic as well. The only complaint would be that I thought the serves were a little small - but that could be because I didn't want my meal to end - it was divine!!

Excellent staff. (This was about 2 weeks ago) We had the private room for a group of around 12 the food was nice and I thought there was a decent selection including the specials board. Our waitress/host whatever she was classed as was fantastic and more than accommodating our group walked away talking about how fantastic her customer service skills had been. We will be back for sure the whole experience was enjoyable.

Very Over-Priced. This restaurant is very over-priced for very average food. The calamari entree was tough, the chicken breast on sweet potato mash was drenched in butter - it ruined the whole dish as that's all you could taste. Steak & risotto only just average. We won't be back & wouldn't recommend. There are much better restaurants in the area.

Wonderful experience. Took my partner to six keys for Valentine's last night. The food was excellent, my wife had the seafood strudel and I had the lamb Wellington, they were both perfect. .The service was friendly and attentive. ..will be back very soon

Pathetic!!!! The owner shou.... Pathetic!!!!<br/>The owner should know better, and be setting a professional example to his staff if he is serious about his restaurant.<br/>I visited Six Keys for the first time and was VERY disappointed!<br/>My meal was noticeably undercooked! <br/>When clearing our plates the waitor asked if everything was ok? <br/>I kindly mentioned what was wrong with my meal.<br/>The owner appeared acting very defensive, unprofessional, and arrogant!<br/>He could have handled the situation a lot better!<br/>No apology was given and he displayed a very negative attitude.

Wow it was great they cooked my steak beautifuly and the new derssert mmmmm.....

I ate lunch at six keys with a friend and took my year d daughter with me in her pram. Whilst the food was so so the waiter was so rude and had a bad attitude. He wasn't accommodating in the fact that we needed space for a pram but sat us in the middle of the restaurant with people squeezing by when he could of offered a table out of the way. He constantly rolled his eyes at my baby making a bit of noise and when we ordered we got some dishes to share and he said is that all and then practically threw the plates down in front of us when serving them! Won't be going back. For me service is just as important as the taste of the food if not more

Fantastic!. I have been an avid customer of this restaurant since it opened. The staff and manager Dave have always been the most polite, helpful and ever knowledgable with each and every visit.<br/>Although the menu and chef has changed over time, the food has never been of a poor standard and has always been presented with the upmost of care and deliciousness. Nothing is ever a hassle for the staff - even with the pickiest of customers(my husband!). I have hosted large parties there and have had smaller intimate dinners. I would encourage people to book as it can get quite busy. I love the wine list and the outdoor garden. Impressed every single time I visit.

Great find. I booked this restaurant for a small group of girls and we sat in the side room. It was like our own private dining room. We hadn't been there before and found the staff friendly with great knowledge of the menu. Food was excellent - my friend had a lovely risotto and the special duck was amazing. Six Keys, Seven Nights. The service and food here was exceptional, I would eat here every night of the week!!

Absolute Gem. Second visit and loved it just as much as the first time. The chicken breast was the best i've ever had at a restaurant and the desserts were divine! Great atmosphere and service, i'll be back again soon.

Winter Warmer. We came here for lunch last Sunday. The food was fantastic with generous portions for the pastas and risottos. Although the two waitresses could have done with a few extra helpers, their service was wonderful- big smiles and very professional! Well done!

What a bad dining experience! Who we presume was the owner/manager was obviously pre occupied with his television in the bar that when we just wanted some drinks to order my wife had to get up and ask him. The look I seen him give as she came back to the table was one of an employee who didn't want to be there let alone have paying customers who just wanted to have a pleasant drink and dinner( what I stupidly thought they did). Will never be back and will let anyone I know the same!

Menu has improved. I have been here twice. The rasberry souffle is to die for.

The restaurant has a good ambiance, the staff are friendly and informed but the meals are a bit overpriced for what you receive.

Disapointed. We are locals & I was looking forward to going to Six keys. Went there for my birthday and was disappointed. Ordered the pizza with mushroom & gorgonzola for $17.50 and out came 4 pieces of hard square slices with 1/2 a mushroom in total and a few tiny dobs of gorgonzola. I know true italian pizza is more sparse than what we are used to. We've been to Italy and love the pizza there, but this was not traditional, or modern, just plain stingy. My partner had a lamb salad which was mostly forgettable. The waiter seemed absent & didn't seem to know how to smile. Expensive night that we both walked away from feeling a little empty in more ways than one.

Awesome Service. A fabulously, well run restaurant just off Beach Rd in Beaumaris. The young staff know what they are doing and clearly have a good manager. At one stage a family at a table nearby was having trouble eating their meal because their little girl would not settle. I was amazed to see the owner/manager walk over, pick up the little girl and proceed to keep her entertained while her parents finished off their meals. It's this kind of service that will bring in the regulars.<br/><br/>The food is well presented, with good flavour and reasonably priced. Loved the beach-style decor. The freshly made bread and pizzas were delicious as were the sides and from what i saw from other tables, the mains looked great. <br/><br/>I'll definitely be back to sample more of the menu!

I loved it. Amazing food, great service, friendly atmosphere. Food was presented in a simple elegance which gave us more chance to focus on the mouth watering tastes of the food. Its hard to find a place where the waitresses know what food their selling. All in all we will definately be making a return to six keys.

Six keys to a perfect meal.. 1. Excellent staff and service, very attentive and caring service, food came out with no delays. <br/>2. Lovely entrees, the new menu is fantastic, with a wonderful garlic and rosemary flat bread. <br/>3. Wonderful antipasto plate and pork loin with crackling. Perfect steaks with chunky chips and salad, looked beautiful too. <br/>4. Great wine list, looks like the owner knows his stuff. <br/>5. Amazing raspberry souffle to finish. <br/>6. Such a good experience we can't wait to come back!

A hidden gem in Beaumaris. So excited to have found 6 Keys. Had the ratatouille bruschetta & then shared the slow cooked lamb shoulder and the prawn & creamed leek risotto with my partner. The food was so, so good. Genuinely lovely waitress & a warm atmosphere, we can't wait to go back. Highly recommended.

Good, flavoursome food. Loved the spaghetti marinara. Charming atmosphere. Decent service. Have been twice and will be back.

Good food but not great service. One waitress and manager/owner on and quite busy. Neither particularly friendly or attentive. Had to indicate we wanted drinks. Lovely decor. Food good but not outstanding.

Fantastic. Had a function for my Grandmas 70th here, fantastic food, service and atmosphere. The entrees were delicious and so was the gorgeous steak the I ordered. Very Impressed.

Great food. I really enjoyed eating here. Food was really good and the atmosphere is very low key (pardon the pun) and relaxed - which I liked. Even the bread that came out before the meal was really nice - presented on a wooden board with oil and salt. Very rustic and hearty foods. Some of the dishes were a lil exy but not offputting. Will be back!

Good for the Suburbs. We eat here regularly with the family .. not bad for the suburbs, but don't expect any high cuisine or top service - after all it is in the back streets of Beaumaris. Prices have crept up a bit however its still a reliable favourite. .. and when your options are the Beaumaris Pub (good enough but even more expensive), the Japanese place in Keys st (variable), Citrus (well over due for a makeover) or that horrible seafood place at the concourse Six keys is a good option

It was yummy the bread with the chicken on top was the best. But..... Why r they always empty?

Nice but. Food fantastic, highly recommend despite the staff (owner I think) being far from friendly.

OUTSTANDING FOOD. I am regular to this joint since long period .Pleasant is too short as an expression for this magnificent experience .Mouth Watering delicacies spirits of the refreshing eras topped up with scrumptious dessert (SOUFFLE) completes the delightful circle of experience at SIX KEYS .

Very pleasant. It was a pleasure to dine in beaumaris in such pleasant surroundings with good quality proportional dishes. The staff were cute especially dan and always making sure we were never wanting for anything. We give great praise to the small plates which are conversation dishes that spark your tastebuds for the rest of the evening.<br/>We left with the feeling of contentment. <br/>Thanks we will be back.

Best food. I hv been to six keys ample of times wid my friends and everything is spot on ,,,I looooooove the food ,,food is just awesome ,incredible , superb,,yummmmmmmmm ...good food and friendly staff ,,,

Incompetent!!!. What restaurant can't cook your steaks to order? Six Keys. What restaurant makes you wait forever to order a drink? Six Keys. What restaurant serves salty, overcooked chicken on a bed of lumpy mushed potatoes. Six Keys. What restaurant tries to charge for people who haven't eaten and for kids at adult rates? Six Keys. What restaurant offers a-la-carte menu and then at the last minute changes your booking to a set menu? Six Keys. And guess what restaurant has rude, incompetent management and staff? You guessed it, Six Keys. My recommendation, as a chef, is this place is an overpriced waste of time.

Awful. Incredibly disappointed. I celebrated my 50th birthday at this restaurant....and while I had a brilliant time because of my beautiful family and friends, the night was disappointing because of the awful attitude of this restaurant. First, there was no recognition of the event of the night, ie it was my birthday, so no "happy birthday"...nothing. We had 22 people there and it was booked, so you would think that a restaurant of this calibre would recognise the event. <br/>Second, when my daughter booked, she was told it would have to be a set menu because there were so many people...ok...can live with that. However, when we ordered steak,, we could not order how it was cooked...everyone had to have the steak medium rare... <br/>The waiting staff were incredibly sour, rude and we had to battle to get a drink or anything....ridiculous..... When I questioned the steak, she said, that is how it is!<br/>Now for the final let down, they gave us the bill and my daughter had booked for up to 30. We had 22 people, 2 of which were children. We were told it was $40 per head and children menu price for children, We were charged for all 30 people we originally booked for.....yet we were not given the opportunity to even eat this amount of food. I've never heard of a restaurant charging for people who do not turn up....unbelievable. My two daughters only just realised this amount was on the bill, when an older person worked it out, otherwise my poor 18 year was going to put it on her credit card. <br/>As it turns out, I realised that we were still charged $40 per head for two children's meals. <br/>Again, while I had a brilliant night with my beautiful friends....it was disappointing that this restaurant would have such a terrible attitude. I've read a number of the reviews and there is a similar theme....rudeness from staff and owners. Well there were 22 people at the restaurant on Friday night and that is 22 people who will never return and whats more 22 people who will tell all about this experience. What a shame, because it looks so nice, but beauty is not just on the outside....I hope that this restaurant can change.

Food glorious food.... We had a wonderful dinning experience at six keys. My friend who has food allergies said this was the best restaurant she had been to in years! I even chose a gluten free meal and loved it! Fantastic ambiance, friendly and promt service, great wine list and a well priced menu. Girls, save room for desert! The brûlée was to die for!<br/>We will be back for sure!

Great bayside food. This restaurant stands out as the best food in beaumaris. Ive eaten there multiple times and have never had a bad dish.keep up the good work!

We stumbled across this heavenly little place in November last year and were so impressed we booked for Christmas Day. Despite a full house, the food and service was perfect, no rush and no long wait between courses. Not an easy feat when there are only 2 waiting staff! The ingredients are high quality and there is imagination in the dishes. We will be regular visitors.

Great night with friends. Was asked to catch up with some pals at this little gem in Beaumaris recently. Had to travel out of my comfort zone to get there being the city chick I am. Was promised much from my Beauy friend who insisted I travel her way. I was forewarned that it was good but still surprised at just how good it was. The place was very busy and the staff were casual & friendly. Was thinking of my diet before going to dinner, however all that was quickly thrown out the door when I took a look at their menu. We shared entrees of prawns, pork belly and calamari which were absolutely fab! I progressed to the duck which was tantalising and really blew my diet by finishing with the heavenly raspberry souffle ! After a great night of friends & food we rolled out the door... will definitely make the effort to travel back to that Beauy beauty!!

Dissapointed. Extremely overpriced <br/>Poor service

Unexpected. An outpost of quality food in a tiny shopping strip near the beach. Great family atmosphere, ok service and delicious range of food. Don't forget to check the specials board. Try the white & dark chocolate baileys mousse for dessert. I'll be back.<br/>Updated: I was back, and still will be. However the goulash special is more like a peppery stroganoff. The maitre d' respectfully disagrees. Apparently it's Czech rather than Hungarian. (Note this update was made after 1 recommendation for the review).

Ummm... yeah ... ok food. The food was ok, reasonable even. The service was ok. Had dirty plates in front of us for about 20 mins. But the first thing that hits you as you walk in is the uncertain ambiance or lack thereof. the entrance is reminiscent of a fish and chip shop; loud, kids everywhere, disorderly. Once you get past that things improve a bit. Probably worth a look if you're chasing something new.

A Great find. The food here was fantastic. There were 4 of us and we all had fabulous meals. The desserts were especially good and the service was friendly and fast. We will definitely go back.

Great food - BUT. The food here is delicious including the vegetarian options. Good wine choices as well. First half of the meal went well but then the service declined with the owner (we presume) off to chat with friends leaving the floor under staffed. No follow up on desserts or coffees or the bill !! Really need to work on service we know we weren't alone in feeling this way.
