Really amazing Spanish tapas dishes. Portions were just the right amount to share for 4 pax (we don’t eat too much). Well done cocktails too, would recommend!!
Cosy and rustic. Friendly and helpful staff. A reasonable menu with a good range of Spanish inspired food options to suit any appetite.
Not a big range of wines on offer but that does not matter as they are very good.
I had dinner here last night (21/9/17). The ambience was impressive, dark wood, open fire, golden lighting. The wine list is adequate and interesting with several Spanish sherries, local wines including some local Sherry and tempranillos.
I had panko olives, two kinds of anchovies on garlic toast, a cheese and jamon croquette, tomato and garlic toast, and garlic mushrooms. All really well done, very tasty.
As with any restaurant these days the cost of the wine increases the final bill significantly. In my case I ended up paying $79, of which the wine was approximately $38.
Service was first class and the owners, Heather and Michael are to be congratulated for what they've created.
Lovely atmosphere. With the open fireplaces this makes it the perfect place to go on a cold night. Food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The Press Room is an old print house, converted into a fine dining establishment, right in the heart of Beechworth. We were invited to the The Press Room for dinner by our friends- an even hungrier couple, who constantly rant and rave about it. We were so excited to try it, each time a dish came out we simply forgot to document it! It is very well decorated and furnished, the walls inside are eye catching. We are taking into account they were fully booked when we were dining but we found the staff a bit distracted and not quite as friendly as anticipated, quite pushy with making you order desserts off the menu. The menu is just tapas, a single sided A4 page, and very pricey. Menu consists of small, medium and large plates- all with Spanish names and ingredients. Considering the amount of money you pay for a large sized plate, really not worth it for the portion you are given. The food definitely the best part of night, most of it was fresh and tasty, even if you do only get a small taste. However, some dishes like the tortilla were lacking spice or any taste for that matter.
TIP: Do book before dining, you won't get a table if you just show up! Don't forget to order a Chorizo Bomba- tiny portion $5 a piece but very tasty! Wine is a must with your meal, pairs perfectly with any dish on the menu.
Good food, nice little interesting wine list, good service. Could increase the gluten free options and make sharing dishes easier. Will definitely visit again
Celebrated our anniversary here in October. Tapas were on point. Delicious sangria! Decadent desserts. Staff were down to earth and very friendly. Definitely be back.
Second time we've eaten here and it is busier than ever. Went Saturday night and could not fault a thing. Service was amazing, the place was packed and the owner told us that there might be a wait. This wasn't true. Food arrived timed beautifully. Our drinks were topped and I cannot speak highly enough of the pork belly and the beef cheek. We took our guests there and they were really impressed. Atmosphere was ambient and warm considering disgusting weather outside. 10 out of 10.
Awesome little restaurant. Regional Victoria never ceases to amaze me, gorgeous restaurants wherever you choose to go. Beechworth is full of great places including the press room. Lovely tasty tapas, yummy paella, awesome chocolate chiros and wonderful ambient dining! Loved the matador picture hanging over the fireplace. We got talking to friendly diners on tables both sides of us and we're reminded how friendly holidaying Aussies can be! The owner came out to have a chat and give me his secret recipe to the beautiful sangria. He even gave us a glass of one of the ingredients to try and to our surprise he charged us for it on the bill....oh well it was yummy and potent so we didn't care until the next day when we sobered up!!! Cannot wait to return.
We ate here as part of a large group of 20 - including children. We were were given good advice regarding sharing ideas and ended up with a great meal of starters followed by paella. The wine was also really good. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was humming, despite it being a Sunday night. Possibly a little slow but that can be common with large group meals.
I can not speak highly enough of this amazing dining experience. The food is first class. The beer and wine are first class. The staff ... are rated higher than first class. Such a wonderful experience. You must experience The Press Room.
Great food. The tapas was amazing! Atmosphere great. Service excellent. Will go again next time in Beechworth. Highly recommend.

We had a very tough time only picking 6 of the options to make up the set menu as everything sounded amazing. When the food came it exceeded expectations. Great cocktails and wine too.

I never expected Beechworth to be such a golden nugget of culinary excellence. Couldn't be more impressed than I was with The Press Room Wine Bar. Had the 6 course tapas, and if i could fit it in, I'd have had the other 5 options as well. Started with a superb cocktail and seated in front of the open fire, or costs were taken. The owner showed us to our table before making some fantastic suggestions to make our experience one to remember. The flavours, the servings, the drinks, there was nothing I could complain about. Finished the evening with a complimentary glass of Licor 43. Really special.
Visited on Friday 23 August and selected Chef's Selection. Beautiful selection of tapas inspired food that was delicious. Hosts were enthusiastic, friendly and happy to chat about their journey at the Press Room. Loved the gin and orange seared gin cocktail. Wine was a little expensive but very enjoyable. Lovely experience in gorgeous Spanish inspired decor with the old charm of the old press establishment.
Wow! The food was exceptional and the cocktails were sensational!! Loved every minute of it. The service was fab, the young lady has a really good understanding of the menu, we went with every one of her suggestions and our experience was great. Have the greens with your meat and have the ice cream with the churros!! We’ll be back xxx

We have been wanting to eat here for a while as the menu (and cocktail menu) looked great. Came here special for my partners birthday. The atmostphere was great, warm, cozy and not too loud. The staff were friendly and helpful. All the food we had was delicious, we had The Patas Bravas, the scallops, spinach dumplings and marinated chicken for dinner, with caramelized pear and rice pudding for desert. The cocktails we had were well balanced and delicious. We will be visiting again.
