They're absolutely a lovely team!
Their menu is great too, with lots of options for adults and children. There's plenty of favourites for all day brunch and options for lunch too, such as delicious salads and mouth watering burgers.
I ordered their Moroccan Pumpkin and Cauliflower Salad and it was absolutely delicious! It had a yummy addition of haloumi, which filled me up too! You only need to see a photo of their waffles to know how spectacular they are!
Their menu is available for takeaway, so definitely check them out and show some support their way.

Was in the area so I stumbled across this cute petite cafe, this is such a popular and well known cafe in Belgrave boasting with a thriving atmosphere. I grabbed a skinny latte and the coffee was strong just the way I like it. Their food menu looks enticing I’ll be trying the food next time I pop by.
I decided to have the ‘Penny Focaccia – bacon, capsicum, baby spinach, avocado and cheese, served with fries ($10.90)’. The meals at The Puffing Billy Café are extremely generous and delicious.
Fantastic place with real meals and not something that looks like a ration. Not fancy, just the way I like it . Oh and the coffee’s and hot chocolate are brilliant.
If you're coming for a hipster flavour of the month dish with flowers and beautiful plating keep walking. You'll only find good ol' fashioned Aussie cafe food. Very good value for money, always busy and great for kids.
Came here for a late breakfast with some friends. We ordered the vegetarian breakfast with no eggs and for nothing to be cooked in butter (to make it vegan) it was delicious and great serving sizes and a fair price. I also ordered an orange juice which I wish wasn't crappy supermarket juice, I'd have preferred freshly squeezed or at least the nudie brand.
We just ate here today for the first time. Simple, old fashioned menu. Nothing fancy, which suited us perfectly. Sometimes (most times) you just want your meal to be served on a plate instead of a chopping board or layered in a beaker so this place was it. Food was very good and reasonably priced. We ordered the Station Master's burger (with the lot), Emerald Lake burger (the lot without egg), chocolate muffin and bacon and egg toasted. Every single morsel of food was happily eaten. Chocolate muffin was great because it wasn't overly sweet. Burgers were served with fries making them even greater value. We ate during the lunch rush. We only waited a few minutes for service and food only took about 5 minutes after our order was taken. Food was served all together which was much appreciated as we were all very hungry.

I really love this cafe, have gone here lots of times the food is really down to earth and you get really good portions. I get the normal breakfast and it is a generous serve. Have had the burgers as well and can never finish it all. This place is really value for money the menu is great lots to chose from the food is good as well this place is a Belgrave icon
Gets my vote on value alone, but that would be an injustice as the cook is clearly a professional who knows his clientele. Locals and visitors alike seem to know this place and no one left looking glum. Milkshakes like the old days, and pancakes from scratch with oodles of ice cream. The Asian students at tables right and left would laugh on receipt of their gargantuan meals, take a photo and tuck in. Highly recommend this unpretentious gem!
I've been going there for a few years now and they have always had really friendly staff, great prices and good food. It's a very basic menu, with great breakfasts. Their portion sizes are generally large and they cater to any of your food intollerances etc.
They also have a gender neutral toilet, which a lot of people appreciate.
Wheelchair Access: It's a bit of a tight squeeze at Puffing Billy Cafe, so maybe not the best option for someone in a wheelchair. However, there aren't any stairs, so if you are with walking aids other than a wheelchair, you shouldn't have any problems.
Unfortunately the café changed their menu. Its now very limited and the previously amazing foccasias are no longer available.
The burgers are quite good with a nice home made taste. Staff are friendly as always.
Prev 5 star: This cafe, with its old diner style is stunning. Prices are decent, the food is scrumptious and the coffee good. The menu had many enticings things to choose from. The staff was friendly.
Cosy little cafe with good value meals. The vegetarian breakfast ( I had it without the eggs) was very filling and enjoyable. The coffee was okay - need to watch the filter packing - but I would visit here again.
Dropped in for Vegetarian breakfast - very good. The service was quick and although uncomplicated the quality and value was excellent. Good work -

Wonderful place to have lunch and coffee. Feels very much like a country town cafe with great value food and a menu with something for everyone. In the heart of belgrave it's the perfect place to take a break from browsing the shops or before heading to the cinema.
Love it. It's always good food for a decent price! Personal favourite for a breakfast. Love the thick shakes! Lovely location in Belgrave. :)

Old fashioned home style cooking. It doesn't try to be fancy, it's doesn't need to be.
Girlfriend loved it, i loved it. The waiter seemed a bit surprised that my girlfriend ordered a mega breakfast and I got vegetarian. Friendly staff and quick service. I don't understand why it has only a 70% rating, its a big meal at an affordable price with a great theme of the areas history. I suppose some people are missing it for what it is. A good traditional, hearty country meal.

Awesome!. An amazing cafe in the hills, good food, friendly and quick service, great thickshakes, fantastic breakfasts, and sandwiches! Even the decor inside is cool :) A must try if your in Belgrave :)
Size matters. If you need a really hearty meal and have a huge hunger this is the place for you.
PB Cafe serves good wholesome food at great prices.. the servings are very generous to say the least..
