Review Star Bakery - Belgrave

This bakery is an absolute gem, the Vietnamese roast pork rolls are among the best I've ever had. Run by a lovely Vietnamese couple they also do alot for the underprivileged kids of Cambodia. 17/01/2019 Sadly it looks like this place has shutdown.

Been in love with the Vietnamese Bahn Mi since I met my first in a bakery in Collingwwod. But PLEASE! Other readers and reviewers take note: The pork rolls here are CAMBODIAN style, not VIETNAMESE style. Filling more like our traditional pork roast with lurvly crackling plus asian salad enhancements. Absolutely to die for. Absolutely excellent lattes as well.

The best Cambodian pork rolls ever, and the nicest owners. Most of the times we are in Belgrave for lunch, my family heads straight here.

Best pork rolls you'll ever have, make sure to ask for the cracklings put inside the roll or they will put it seperated. Delicious pies as well.

When I'm looking for lunch in Belgrave, the choice is simple: get a pork roll 10/10 owners

The pork roll is like the Singapore roasted pork belly. Excellent!

These are the best Potk Rolls around. The owners are always very friendly making you feel
welcome. We rarely buy anywhere else as they are just not up to scratch

Best pies in the wider area. Try the freshly cooked pork roll with crackling, amazing. Owners are lovely and helpful . Prices are very reasonable, fresh bread and rolls are also good. They do a few desert pastries and are good. They are masters of the humble Aussie pie for sure.

I was craving a banh mi while I was staying at a friend's in Belgrave but I couldn't be bothered going to Springvale so I went here instead. They just finished one roast pork and brought out another one so it was fresher. They ran out of the banh mi rolls so we had them in baguette rolls that have been cut up. The man said that he roasts his pork the French way rather the Vietnamese way which makes it slightly different. I think it's juicier then the Vietnamese roast pork and it's not the belly. They also give you a piece of crackling separate from the roll. I really enjoyed my banh mi but I still like the ones I get in Springvale or Richmond better. I would recommend this place for anyone near Belgrave craving a pork banh mi but can't be bothered travelling too far. I also ordered cheese, bacon and steak pies for my friends and a cinnamon doughnut for me. My friends thought their pies were ok and my doughnut tasted different from other cinnamon doughnuts I've had but I really liked it. The people working here are really friendly and the man who works here is very chatty.

The bread is fresh, the pork rolls are DELISH! and the service is good. The man that served us had a great personality, he was funny, genuine and was easy to get along with. Coming back next to try their pies!

Steak, Bacon & Cheese Pies. They are the best pies I've ever had - and no, I don't want to try steak and onion!!

Unfortunately, 4 out of 5 times I go to get one between 11.30am and 12.30pm they have none!! If they sell out all the time (which they obviously do!), just make more!

Scrap the horrible ones and just make Steak, Bacon & Cheese pies!

In fact: Your bakery should just sell Steak, Bacon & Cheese pies and pork rolls, which I hear are good, but also often sold out!

Best bakery in Belgrave. Cheap and tasty pies, and the Vietnamese pork rolls are banging for 5.50$. Service a bit slow sometimes but always super friendly. The guy made me laugh
