Review Tree Of Delights - Belgrave

This German cafe serves a range of meaty and filling dishes alongside traditional drinks and desserts. We’ve been here over 4 times and so far can recommend: Currywurst spiced pork sausages Strammermax Meatloaf roll with delicious bacon jam Sausages and sauerkraut Potatoe Rosti and their sausage bretzel, a sausage cooked in pretzel dough! The prices are very affordable for the high quality of the food. Most dishes are under $15. The family run business really looks after their customers with great service too. The are baby friendly with a high chair and kids books available in the corner. If you’re looking for a great cafe in Belgrave, I’d recommend visiting the Tree of Delights!

Absolutely amazing!!! Best German cafe in Melbourne!! Cakes and pretzels were perfect and reminded me of Germany. Will be returning again soon.

Very delicious home-made food, i enjoyed every single bite and licke the plate clean, everything is fresh and tasty. Hollandaise sauce is perfect, even salad dressing is amazing ! You can also get real bretzel here! It is the kind of breakfast you want to have everyday

Gorgeous little cafe. The staff were lovely and helpful - I was on a time schedule and they were very accommodating. Had a chocolate milkshake and a blueberry waffle, which were both delightful. The milkshake was served with a reusable metal straw; I'm glad this place is taking active steps to reduce waste. The waffles were perfect: soft, golden, perfectly cooked, with a light ice-cream, a rich blueberry syrup, and fresh blueberries scattered throughout. The price was very reasonable too! I can't wait to go back and try more types of waffles and whatever other delights this gorgeous cafe has to offer!

It's a hidden gem but worth finding. The coffee is excellent. I sat outside and watched the world go by while I had the bacon, egg, cheese toasty and it was delicious. Prices are reasonable. I'm going back for the cheesecake. They have newspapers

Well hidden away, this lovely place serves authentic German food with a smile. Highly recommended.

The Bratwurst sausage with sauerkraut in a bun was very disappointing. If we had not requested mustard it would not have had any flavour at all. The sausage did not appear to be traditional or high quality bratwurst and only half a sausage was placed in the white bread bun. The sauerkraut tasted as if it had come out of a can and also had little flavour. The coffees were good, however.

Very disappointed after visiting today. The lady was clearly stressed and made us not feel welcomed. I understand when you have a bad day but still say hello and goodbye to your customers. The coffee was good and we ordered spaghetti cup icecream which tasted exactly like in Germany. Wouldn't recommend this cafe if you get treated like that.

Only go there up to lunch time!!!!!

After a big bushwalk in Sherbrooke Forest, Janeca and I were looking for a place to refuel and refresh. Tree of Delights fits that description and then some. The German cafe serves a range of meaty and filling dishes alongside traditional drinks and desserts. We’ve been here over 4 times and so far can recommend:

A genuine, authentic German café just an hour outside of Melbourne.

As a German you can only love this place. I come here especially when I miss home. The Dandenong Ranges that surround beautiful Belgrave are a great destination for a long walk after indulging delicious cake and Brezeln (or: Brezels).

Staff is very friendly, music is fantastic, and the whole ambience is calm and warm-hearted.

I often come here with Aussie friends to introduce them to some German deliciousness. So far everyone loved it and keeps asking when I get back to get Brezeln for everyone... :)

You should try it out!

*Many Vegetarian options, Vegans might struggle with limited options though... Soy coffees are great!

Best. Goulash. Ever. I'd have ended it here but I need to fill the word limit up. Soup started out decent and by the time I got halfway into it, it morphed into five star awesome - unbelievable. Warm inviting atmosphere, delicious fare, good service, will definitely be back.

Everything is handmade, which is nice to see. The “strammer Max” is really nice and the diversity of the menu is great! The apple crumble cake was delicious and perfect. I was hoping to get a piece of the poppy seed cake :( Hopefully next time! Wish you all the best for this little cutie cafe 👍
