Divine! The almond croissant was one of the best I have tasted and all of the chocolate choices I made to bring home were 10/10. The flavours subtlety explode in your mouth. The truffles are beautiful and I will be ordering more online. We love them, so happy to have found this place ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ So much to choose from, we didn’t even get to the ice cream. Next time 😊
We went to the cafe first & had the vanilla bean scones with fresh cream & jam as well as a chocolate shake, cappuccino.
We then joined the 12noon sampling & information session -for $3 each well worth trialing the variety of flavours/chocolate that is produced here.
My personal fave was the Tahitian lime & chilli chocolate.
The cleanliness of the cafe/shop/factory area is to be applauded.
Staff we dealt with were knowledgeable and friendly.
Definetly will be back and will bring visitors with us.
We had a lovely family day out! They have the yummiest Ice cream! Great place for families with kids!
The truffles are exceptional! Without a doubt the best chocolate I have ever tasted. Especially the Turkish delight truffle. Truly a Wow factor. Delicious.
I highly recommend the High Tea it is sensational! Beautiful food, beautifully presented and plenty of it. What a treat!! Thank you to Leanne and her team for looking after us so well. Vivien C.
Had the most amazing Hi Tea today to celebrate our daughter's birthday the food was just amazing & the staff all extremely friendly was a treat to meet the Chocolatier who created our amazing food too.Thankyou to all concerned
It was great experience to have breakfast in choclatire just before hitting great ocean drive. Great atmosphere and some delicious choco varities. The pick of the bunch was "Mango Tango".
We visited today I highly enjoyed our lunch and sweets great place for the kids to run play and meet new friends service was great.
Awesome place, highly recommend. Indigenous sign and garden is impressing.
Fantastic food, very friendly staff, great place to take visitors or just a special day out.
What an awesome place. Friendly staff and lots of yummy things to try free. Massive yummy ice creams too.
Brownie was amazing and for only $8 you get a huge slice, a generous serve of icecream and a shot of melted chocolate!
Love the wide variety of chocolates we got here in this giant chocolaterie! The ice cream is awesome too - no lack of flavours there! Big bonus is the free chocolate near the front door. Delicious and highly recommended!
Loved the chai ice cream flavour. Captured the flavours of a chai massala v well. If you love a creamy ice cream this is awesome. Serving size is quite generous so best not to eat after a hearty meal as I found out xx
A bang for your buck! This incredible complex is not only just a chocolate factory, but a stunning restaurant with large child-friendly gardens. The serves of the food are ENORMOUS with the smashed avocado able to feed both my Father and I (and we eat heaps). The prices are inexpensive, especially for the amount of food you get.
Anyone with kids will appreciate the genius of this chocolaterie. Run by the same people as the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie, the design of this joint is absolutely brilliant for families.
Featuring a huge fenced open space/lawn (where they’ve provided enough balls of different sizes to keep kids of all ages entertained) and a shaded outdoor sandpit (spades & buckets provided), there is both outdoor seating (where you can comfortably sit and watch the kids play) and a pretty large indoor seating area with ample supply of coloring sheets (with the most detailed designs you can think of that will take the kiddos hours to finish coloring) and buckets of well-sharpened color pencils. It is their attention to these types of details (I don’t envy the person whose task is to sharpen all those pencils!) - that leads me to say that I don’t think you will find more kid-friendly place to have one of the most enjoyable indulgences of all time - chocolate!!
If I was being super critical, I’d have to say the food was average - the fish and chips were nice but nothing special; the popcorn chicken was tasty - but again, nothing special; the ice-cream and chocolate that came with the waffles were 👌🏽 (pretty awesome) but the waffles themselves were a little soggy. We did love the hot chocolate - which came with its own side of liquid milk chocolate you could add (yum!!!) - and ice creams. I think anything to do with chocolate & ice-cream was pretty yum (surprise, surprise, given their name!)
Overall, everything on the menu was on the pricier side, but to be honest, that wouldn’t deter us from returning if they keep the kid-friendly activities and infrastructure up. I mean, wouldn’t most parents pay any price to sit back and enjoy chocolate while their kids are kept well entertained?? 😉
Nice place to have a second to none hot chocolate in Melbourne, and the hill views outside is just beautiful around the sunset clock. Recommend to people who are around to have a go.
If you been to Yarra Valley Chocolateire and ice creamery than you are not missing out much. They are pretty much the same. The food is pretty much the same and the ice cream is just as yummy. This place has a wonderful outdoor setting that is great for the kids. Definitely one of my kids' favourite location. Love their Dark Chocolate sorbet.
A must place to visit for tourists (and locals).
Beautifully design place and the large open area next to the restaurant is great for the youngsters.
There were 3 big tubs of white, milk and dark chocolate buttons near the entrance to try for free. And I admit, I let myself came back couple of round for that cute yummy buttons 😉😍
We didn't try the food, but the hot chocolate was gorgeously yum! I dream about it till now.
They let you diy the generous amount of chocolate in the small cup and the warm frothy milk. And the choccamochachino was heavenly delightful.
Latte was great, but if you come to chocolate factory, the hot chocolate is a must!
Staffs were very friendly and helpfull.
When you come to visit Melbourne, do come here! And I tell you, you won't be dissapointed.
Highly recommended! 👍🏻
CHOCOLATE!!!!!!
A taste that can never get old. The creaminess that stirs you to crave for more. To fall in love with chocolate over and over and over again, please visit the Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery in Bellbrae. It’s a tourist destination and it’s amazing.. They have so many varieties of chocolate in shapes and sizes you’ve never seen before. They had a 12 foot long chocolate bar. And chocolate favoured lip balm.. That was heavenly.. The cafe is pretty packed cause the chocolate there is awesome!!!!!
I tried the famous brownie with their traditional milk hot chocolate.. the best I’ve tasted in my life.. Do visit and please try the hot chocolate!!
Amazing place! Beautiful displays and lovely food! Prices are a little high but worth it I think. A chocolate lovers paradise!!
Teena on the checkout!!! Gosh...such a pleasure to be served by her! What a sweet girl...so helpful and pleasant with a beautiful smile! Thank you Teena!
All round great experience!
It was a bit of a letdown.
The venue is very nice and well designed.
There is a large selection of chocolates that you can buy. Yes the prices are a quite high, but that is to be expected for somewhere like here.
They have got plenty of room for the kids to run around, which is nice.
My big let down was the ice cream. I Brought my wife, and 2 daughters an ice cream. They knew exactly what they wanted and picked it straight away (they had been before twice before, so knew what they liked). Being gluten free, I had less of a choice, but still had probably 8 of the 16 flavours that I could choose from.
I told the girl serving I would have a double in a cup, but I wasn't too sure which ones so I wanted to taste some. I tried one (salted caramel) but didn't like it. So I then tried another, as she passes it to me, she says that is all I can try, as they have a 2 try limit.
This blew me away, how on earth can I pick the ice cream I want to buy when I can only try 2 flavours!!!
I didn't like the second one I tried, and now was stumped as I didn't know what to buy and didn't want to buy a new one without tasting it first.
I decided to chance my order to a 1 scope cup and went for the traditional lemon sorbet as I knew what that would be like.
Although on a side note, it was not very nice, and the lemon gelati from the ice cream vans is nicer.
To add more sting in the day, we only came down because they have a rocky road festival on.
We did ring before we came down and confirmed that they had some rocky roads that were gluten free. The lovely girl on the phone said yes, they were, so we headed down the highway to give them a go and buy a few.
Get there and go to buy some, I ask which are gluten free and the girl gets out her book and says, sorry but none of them are. YOU SERIOUS!!! talk about frustrating.
Anyway, the staff seem lovely and the place is great for the kids, but I won't be going back again.
A great place to visit for dessert! Large portions that always leave you satisfied. The ability to try the chocolate when you first walk in is also a great bonus. The only small critique is the waffle needs a little more sugar as without the chocolate and ice cream it is a little bland.
OMG . What a great place, They have got it spot on. Before even parking you are alerted to watch out for ompalompas.Complimentary chocolate buttons as you enter white milk or dark? The ice cream selection and the way its displayed is mouth watering as are their truffles. Euphoria is the only way I can describe the Violet and Forrest berry dark chocolate. I have never seen such a range of flavours and combos. Each display is an adventure of discovery, Foodies must visit , plan your drive today. I will be revisiting within 48 hrs. The staff are well versed and you can tell the supervisors care about their staff, it all filtered down to the customer experience.-
When staying in Torquay, a visit to the Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie is a must. We had breakfast here and it was very good. Hot waffles and bacon & eggs! This is chocolate heaven!
