Review Flavours Castle - Belmont

Robynne Collier
Most amazing Indian I've ever had and I have it frequently. Could not believe the flavours in every dish. Each one had a unique blend of spices so many places I've eaten the dishes taste very similar, not here. Really large serves full of meat not just sauce and a few pieces. You can tell the owners are passionate about what they do, food and service were exceptional. If you love Indian this is a must do!!

This restaurant is a fabulous find and a firm favourite in my family. We love the dosa's, peas masala and garlic naan breads! Service is genuinely very friendly and you certainly feel like a guest as a previous reviewer mentioned. We choose to make the short drive from home in Torquay to come here as the quality of food and value for money far outweighs anything we can get there.

Not that good I had order two dishes goat coconut stew but it was all sweet no spice and chick pea grain with round roti... but spices were not fried properly and it too tasted sweet...very disappointed and yeah when I visit for dosa night the sambhar never comes on time...

We went to this restaurant on the New Years eve night based on its good reviews. Speaking about the positive, the food we ordered was good and authentic and we liked it to some extent. Now coming to the downside: 1) Food availability: Most of the authentic dishes that we wanted to have, to name a few: Dosa, Kerala paratha, Kada fry were not available which was a big let down. So we were made to have the items that were available on the menu. Even most of the beers mentioned in the menu weren’t available. In fact we booked a table for 2 well in advance and if most of the authentic dishes weren’t available, they could have at least gave us a heads up regarding the availability but we weren’t. PS: The waiter even apologized for this having happened but we didn’t visit the restaurant for an apology to be served. 2) Service: We were just 2 people and we had to wait for a long time for our dishes to be served. We reached the restaurant by 8.45 and left it by 10.50 3) Service: We had ordered desserts when making the initial order and we even confirmed if those items were available but when we finished our main course and were waiting for the desserts, the waiter said that there were no orders placed for desserts, which seriously disappointed us and it clearly showcases the miscommunication between the team members. So if I had to conclude a final verdict on this restaurant, I would say that if you are planning to visit this restaurant please have a look at their menu first, then give them a call and confirm the items available on the menu, and then go to the restaurant, else you would regret. Having said that ensure that you have plenty of time when you visit this restaurant because the food takes lot of time to be served and confirm the order twice so that they don’t miss stuff.

Absolutely appalling takeaway. I wish I read the other reviews on Menulog before I placed my order. Ordered a chicken korma and rice and selected the "Hot" option. Had to wait an additional 20 minutes after the advised pick up time, when I got home it was bland and contained a grand total of 6 small pieces of chicken. I tried phoning several times to complain but got no answer. Shockingly poor value for money, and shoddy service. I won't be a returning customer.

Quite possibly the best with both food, choices , pricing and above all We feel as their guests. They try to please on all fronts. We have been grateful for their services since first opened. We go back over and over. Recommended ) Stephen

Super friendly staff. One of my favorite Indian restaurants in Geelong. I’d give 4 stars if they had quicker service

I dont like Indian food because its too spicey, my sister made us go try it and the butter chicken was amazing!! we wanted to try something different so we asked the server to pick something not spicey for us. he suggested the roganjosh, but it was too spicey for us and we didnt really eat any. they appolagised to us and didnt charge us even though we were happy to pay for it. great customer service. thank you.

Phone ordered a rice, butter chicken, rogan josh and 3 naan. I was told the wait was 30-40 minutes, which seemed high but I said ok. I arrived around the 40 minute mark: there was no one else waiting for takeaway and just 1 couple in the otherwise empty restaurant. Waiting and waiting: the final wait for takeaway was 60 minutes. Get home (850 metres driving) and dish up: the naan has huge chunks of burnt black stuff on it, the meals were stone cold, the rogan josh lamb was tough as old boots. The butter chicken did have a nice flavour. Overall, a very disappointing looong wait for our cold meal.

This restaurant is great. I bit hard to find but definitely worth the effort. Real tasty and spicy dishes that seem to be a different style or flair to most other Indians Restaurants.
