Review Rocks On Rosalind - Bendigo

My gf and I had dinner on Saturday night and we left extremely impressed. The service was incredible (Troy, cal and jake). The food was beautiful, great menu and the cocktails were made to perfection. Overall the whole experience and ambience of the restaurant made it one of a kind. We will definitely be back !

Great tasting food and sauce. Good service, unfortunately the rice in the Morton bug curry was inedible which they exchanged. Servings size were bit too small for the price.

Wasn't blown away. Went for Valentine's day. The atmosphere I expect to what was received was defiantly different. We were squeezed in pretty close to another couple on one long table with the only thing separating us being a wine bucket. The duck breast was nice. But the crab not so much. The desert was nice. But a bit small. My 2 cents

Our go to place for special occasions rocks never fails to impress. I love the fact that they are open Mondays as most others places are shut!

We tried the lunch special, and it was nice to get so many different tastes for only $35. The service was great as always.

Went for a corporate function. They paid very good money to have everyone in the function looked after. And they had 2 waiters for the whole function so we where eating desert at around 1030 pm The place it self is very well set out and down stairs is great. But for a high end place the service should not have taken so long Seafood was great. Steak comes in two forms. Medium and well done. If I order a steak from a high end restaurant. And I want rare I should be able to get it.

A world-class venue, and very well priced for the quality of cuisine offered. I felt the wines offered were very complimentary to the ingredients being used, and were very well selected for the cellar. Knowledgeable staff and competent Executive Chef, were clearly experienced and suited to the setting. I would have liked to have seen a dessert wine offered with the cheese platter to fully compliment the overall wine/meal pairing.

The food here was absolutely amazing. All of the dishes were created and served with the utmost care and precision. On one occasion during the night the owner came over and questioned whether we were enjoying out evening and whether there was anything he could do. This level of service and attention to detail makes it an extremely relaxed and enjoyable dining experience, one that I won't forget anytime soon. I can't wait to go back.

If your looking for a place that has more to offer than the average pub around Bendigo this is the place to go! The staff are always bright and bubbly and really onto it, when your drink is gone they are right there offering another one, my partner is quite a fussy eater but the staff here were very accomodating to help him get something he would enjoy, and he loved it! I have been here for drinks a few times and there espresso martinis are to die for! Plus I have tried other cocktails on the menu and they have been amazing too! When I've been here for a function they are really well organised and have really good options for when dinning with a big group of people (tasting plates). All in all a great place to eat or drink in a beautiful, classy, fun environment, plus the actual building is amazing, and is defiantly worth the look around all its areas to dine- one of my favourite places in Bendigo!

I came here two years for my first visit to bendigo, the service was beautiful and the food was absolutely delightful, unfortunately my most recent experience was not the same. My partner and I came down from Melbourne to celebrate our anniversary and this really was the biggest let down. To start with, the food was very much average. Both of our starters were small and disappointing. I had the soft shell crab, it was dry and lacking flavour and my partner had the peaking duck pan cake, which made it seem like bendigo had a massive shortage of duck and they were trying to make it last. This left a bad taste in our mouth BUT we were staying positive for our mains. I decided to go for the beef bourguignon, or steak with mash and absolutely no jus. I won’t lie the steak was cooked beautifully, but for $60 that shouldn’t be a plus. My partner had the lamb, which was again, well cooked and insanely bland. I also ordered a side of the confit fennel. Fennel is my favourite so I was excited about this, half way through my main I asked where it could be? Had they forgotten? Anyway, it was then delivered to our table when we had both finished our main, we had a taste but barely touched it. Time for desert, I decided to go for a sweet and tail, a cocktail and desert pair. They came out reasonably quick which was good, I then spent ten minutes trying to stare down a waiter for cutlery to eat said desert sitting in front of me. I was soon to discover that I wasn’t missing out as the ‘peanut butter’ tart, was just a buttery tart with some strawberry purée. After such an amazing experience last time this was such a surprise. I hate leaving a negative review but when we were then made to PAY for the fennel which we barely got to eat because they forgot it, I was just disgusted in the lack of responsibility for bad service. My partner owns/ runs a chain of restaurants and I have been a waitress for over 8 years, we know that sometimes things don’t work or go to plan, but this was just lack of care and disrespect for customers. I will no longer be recommending anyone visit this restaurant and I hope to god they can find a way to lift the standard to the quality evening they once offered.

Booked on Friday online for Saturday night to celebrate an engagement, Finn called me about an hour afterwards and was very welcoming and asked me if there was anything at all he could help me with, then when we arrived every staff member congratulated us and were very professional, was the first time I’ve ever been there and it won’t be the last, i highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants an amazing night. Also I’ve never had food that good in my life, I can’t thank these guys enough!

We were there for the food & wine weekend..... spectacular service! We could have done with a little more food in the degustation menu but the quality of both the food and wine was amazing.

Thanks to staff at Rocks for helping us make Cassie's 21st dinner extra special on Monday night. Meal was excellent, service by staff was great & we all had a great night. The chef who did the cake - you did a great job & we all enjoyed it. As Cassie's extended family - we thank you for great night. xx

A little disappointed with our visit for Mothers Day. Firstly when we asked for the kids menu, we received a couple of vegetarian tasting menus, which was ok because one of the girls isn't a big meat eater and the gnocchi dish appealed to her. But when the dishes came out they were different to what was on the list. When we queried this we found out we were given old menus. Secondly one of our entre's didn't arrive, we had to ask for it and had obviously been forgotten. When the waitress spilled a beer while handing it to one of our men she didn't bother to clean it up, he had to get one of the other waiters to do it. Whilst most of our meals were very nice, the seafood special was really small as was the morten bay bugs dish and a few extra vegetable selections to accompany meals would be good. Upon receiving our bill we discovered we had been charged for a bottle of champagne which we had sent back. But to top it all off, to discover we were being charged 10% per person surcharge for it being Sunday- would've been nice to be told this upon booking or at the very least when we arrived. Between the 12 of us (4 of whom were children) we spent almost $1000 Would certainly expect better for this amount of money!!

First of all we where there 5 minutes and seen a mouse running behind cupboards between kitchen and cutlery drawers, told waiter and he said oh its ok we have pestisides placed around and traps (pesticides near a kitchen �) not the best look for supposably fancy restaurants. Now i wasnt to phased typical aussie just give me steak . I did enjoy entrees and steak but for the price i wouldnt do it again. And sister inlaw order medium well steak came out bloody, for a $60 steak ya would expect better

Had the lunch express today absolutely loved it all ,and our waiter I think was timmo was a delight definitely worth doing again

I have been here a few times with my family, which is quite big and the service here is amazing considering all the people in our family! Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff at rocks and the food is amazing! Definitely a place to bring the whole family!

On a rare night out after the birth of our first child Rocks was the choice to dine, and it did not disappoint. We went on a Monday evening and had the luxury of a more quieter evening - the food was sensational and we had excellent no-intrusive service. Would highly recommend!
