A must if going to Bendigo... owners are salt of the earth and care...about their custom, food and all areas of quality. Bendigo is lucky to have them. Casual place, relaxed.
First time I have tried your Gluten Free Bread and I am amazed at how perfect it is . When people have an intolerance or allergy it means so much to find something that you really enjoy . I know why you won the award for beast Australian Awards . Thank you so much I am so happy
I love the amazing food and coffee this place produces. Today I bought a gourmet fruit loaf and shared it with my Year 11 History class, I'm definitely their favourite teacher now! I also think there will be a few parents being sent in for one of these delicious loaves!
Ate a few of the Award Winning Hot Cross Buns this morning, and was certainly not disappointed. Despite the number of people there, the staff were lovely. I sat and watched the people at the competition across the road, and thought to myself how much they're missing out on. Great coffee, delicious food.
I loved the quirky surroundings, service is wonderful and I'll go back again for another breakfast when I'm in town. Absolutely yummy <3
I've just eaten 3 whole loaves of bread in under a week (couldn't help myself)! The most amazing bread - All different flavours/ingredients - beautiful and simple. The Walnut and Fig is seriously awesome and the Corn bread is amazing with just butter and vegemite. Can't wait to be back in Bendigo just to come back here :)
My wife and I had an amazing experience with having a yummy breakfast there yesterday. We also bought some bread and those yummy date scones which didn't make it back to Melbourne. We travel a lot to Bendigo and can say with all honesty that we will be back for more each time we visit. Looking forward to enjoying another coffee too as it was much better then the roasting place across the road.
Thankyou,
Ron & Heather.
Best bread in Bendigo, especially the pumpkin loaf
Absolutely love this cafe and all your products! Never been disappointed! Yummy bread, cakes, drinks and meals. Was super excited to see you were open today for the Trove market so I could pop in an grab my favorite for a Sunday treat... Pumpkin roll and vege frittata and relish! Thank you!
Absolutely Awesome, highly recommended must try!!!
Great coffee, good service. Always a great place to stop.
Amazing French toast with banana and maple syrup
I always come here because there is a dog bowl outside for my puppy.
Just ordered one of your falafel wraps. Absolutely DELICIOUS, I didn't want it to end.
Thanks for the beautiful lunch and for the impeccable service. Wish you guys were in Melbourne!
Very helpful and friendly to vegans. Didn't have to explain anything.
Great service and I enjoyed the loaf of bread I bought, but it was maybe just a little bit expensive. Having the trove makers market one Sunday a month here is also a bonus. I will be back to try out the cafe!
Glad to have stopped here to grab a loaf. The ciabatta sourdough was amazing, so light and soft inside but crusty on the outside. One of the best sourdough I had in my life.
Stopped in at The Good Loaf to buy some bread, noticed the calzone and decided that would be a great option for lunch with a cappuccino and we were very happy that we did. The calzone was fantastic! Friendly efficient staff and the owner is not a bad bloke either! Well done Laurie. Keep up the good work.

Heard that their bread was really good, so brought the family there to try it out, turns out it wasn’t a disappointment.
We ordered Turkey Focaccia, Chicken & Avocado Focaccia, TGL (The Good Loaf Breakfast), Pulled Pork Burrito, Vegetarian Focaccia, Indian Baked Beans and all Cappuccino. Everyone was satisfied with their meals and coffee.
Really enjoyed the whole ambience and settings there. Not only their breads are made fresh every day, but their honey are fresh from their roof top too. YES! They do bee-keeping upstairs.
Definitely give this place a try when visiting Bendigo.
I had the best French toast at the good loaf sourdough bakery. Nice hot French toasts were made of corn bread, served with maple syrup and mascarpone( was mixed with vanilla beans), topped up with banana. It was just amazing. Coffee was good, too. Thank you for the beautiful breakfast, will see you very soon.
Stumbled upon this great cafe in the centre of town. Very child friendly with special kids sandwich pack as well as toys and blackboard for drawing. Fresh bread made on premise and simple but delicious menu.
Hmmmm. Went there for breakfast recently and still cannot understand what all the hype is about. While the breakfast we ordered was tasty, it was very much overpriced and very small portion. The reception was nothing to brag about but I did like the quaint decor and furniture. Will probably try it again.

Great egg and dukkah sandwich, the menu is a little on the pricey side and why charge 50c to toast the sandwiches?? Great sourdour though....
I have been coming hear for around 2 years now, easily my favourite place in Bendigo! Fantastic coffee every single time, amazing and friendly service, and a thoroughly relaxed and inviting atmosphere. 10/10
French toast - Grilled bananas. French toast was really nice. I was a bit worried about the corn sourdough bread but it was really delicious with the caramel sauce and grilled bananas. The vanilla mascarpone also really complimented the dish well. The coffee there wasn't to bad too. Worth a visit
Hits the spot just right Gr.... Hits the spot just right
Great breakfast sandwich
The food was awesome! As was the fresh juice :)
The prices were very reasonable and the staff were lovely.
Best sour dough bakery in Victoria - their Vine Fruit loaf is divine, but only available Thu, Fri, Sat, so time your trip to Bendigo accordingly!
Brekky Favourite. The best bacon and egg sandwiches in Bendigo! Also has the best french toast ever at The Good Loaf. Yum!
Friendly staff who remember your name as a return customer- a big plus in my book!
Your semi sourdough hot cross buns were amazing and the corn bread is incredible and fabulous with cheeses. The loaves of corn bread last well too. I bought a loaf on Saturday and it's still fresh today (Monday). Had some toasted with eggs, Meredith goat cheese, wilted spinach and dried green tomatoes and it was to die for.
Funky. Great food and friendly staff. We haven't had any dud coffees here. Bread and extras are fresh and tasty.
Great options for a light lunch, good coffee, happy, bright service and a discount on my delicious organic sour dough loaf..couldn't be happier!
Great sourdough. Long overdue for Bendigo. Well done Laurie! The bread is fantastic. Keep up the good work.
Best bread in Victoria. Ok, so I am a sourdough-lover but everytime I come to Bendigo - I stock up here. Plain sourdough, honey-oat and especially the pumpkin are just fab. You know they are made with love as the loaves last ... and they take ages to toast - my litmus test of great bread.
Cafe is in an old tyre shop - circular building, really unique. Staff really friendly, attentive and good coffee. Laminex, re-claimed tables and chairs very cute, they offer blankets for outside chill and you can toast your own bread in-house. Love it.
Great idea but the service ?????. The quailty is of the food is great , the coffee is up and down everytime , and the staff arent always friendly ,kinda make you feel like you've interpted something they were doing
Sourdough is undoubtedly my favourite type of bread – so I’m grateful to have an excellent sourdough bakery local to me. The Good Loaf is situated in an iconic round building that used to be a Beaurepaires tyre store. As you can imagine, a lot of renovations were carried out to convert the building to a bakery. While this blog is primarily a gluten free zone, I desperately wanted to give The Good Loaf a write up because their bread is amazing and gluten is often given a bad rap no matter what form it comes in. What many people don’t realise is that true, traditional sourdough, like what’s produced at The Good Loaf, takes 2-3 days to make. During this process, the natural fermentation pre-digests the wheat/gluten through enzymatic activity creating greater bio-availability of nutrients and a lower G.I., allowing those of you with gluten sensitivities and intolerances to have greater success digesting sourdough than regular bread containing baker’s yeast. For those interested, The Good L
On our way out of Bendigo, I had to stop past this bakery to grab some sourdough bread. It looked like an old car wash that had been turned into a café, with chairs and tables and red geraniums out the front and the baking operations in the back. The staff were young and packing up for the day, but they still had some bread on the shelf for purchasing. There was no hesitation from the hip dude behind the counter to recommend the corn bread - it was soft and fresh and on special - SOLD!
