Review Bunja Thai Bendigo - Bendigo

Our trip away in Bendigo has come to an end on our second last dinner meal and it was time to try something different. Quick look in Google reviews and Bunja Thai looked good. Once we entered, we were hoping that the food tasted and looked as good as the interior of this beautiful building. Our food was delicious, service was good. I had the yellow curry with chicken, and the Mrs had the red curry with beef.

Beautiful building, it seems like it was an old bank and it even has the original vault there. We had a delicious lunch to celebrate my birthday with family.

Great value for money. I love the lunch specials. Food is always great, good service and friendly staff. Highly recommended while in Bendigo CBD.

Interesting menu with only limited options to avoid confusion.. I ate Thai Fried Chicken with Jasmine rice and sweet chilli 🌶 sauce… it was good for the price of $15.. see photo.. The heater was pretty strong and I found the ambience to be a bit more warmer than pleasant… Staff was great.. I’ll visit again to try something else..

What a beautiful place to enjoy a very tasty meal. Pricing was reasonable and service was fast.

Very very good. Nice building, tasty food and not expensive. Plus they are open on Mondays unlike most other restaurants around the place all closed until Tues or Wednesday. That's no way to run a business. Definitely we will be back.

Second time we have been here, before and after covid, and it hasn't changed. Seems very authentic, lots of choice, many gluten free options. Some dishes tasted different from other places but still delicious

My family and I went to Bendigo today and was recommended by an Asian grocery lady so we went there for dinner. The waitress name “Jenny” took our order and her service was terribly bad and not helpful at all. The food we’ve ordered were either very spicy (we order mild spicy level) or very salty. If you have another choice to go, you absolutely should not go there otherwise this restaurant will ruin your day with bad finishes. Highly not recommended.

This place is by far one of the best eats in town have been going here for years and still love it - great menu great atmosphere food is fresh and well presented- if your looking for a quick Lunch then the specials are for you, cheap & easy.. there website is a good spot to start for specials and fine dining menu 👍🙏👌🏼☝️👋✌️

My review is purely based on the service at this restaurant. Some friends and I went for the lunch special and while we are aware it is a cheap lunch special the service is terrible. I love thai fodd and in a previous life worked as a waitress in a thai restaurant. The food was as expected for a lunch special...suited to western pallet. I would recommend eating from the menu. The waiting staff do not look like they want to be here. Please be aware I have eaten here for many years with the food always being a great standard. The service is always hit and miss. We had to ask 2 different waitresses to take our order as we are on the clock. When we finally ordered she did not make eye contact or interact with us. Kept staring at her hand held. The meals took longer than expected for a lunch deal. We also had one waitress come and reach between 2 of us and remove a full carafe of water and take it to another table. Rude. My advice to the manager is to train your staff firstly to smile and basic etiquette. If the staff don't want to be there maybe they should be moved on.

Just Wow!!! I celebrated my Birthday last night and everything was amazing, the food, the service, the staff. I can not say Thank you enough for making my night so fantastic. Highly Recommend

Had a lovely evening with friends on a sat night. Place was busy but we were in no hurry and had a lovely secluded table up the front. Staff were great and very friendly. Absolutely loved the mixed entree and was very well presented. Enjoyed the main courses we shared particularly the beef salad and curries. Would definitely come back if in Bendigo and highly recommend a night dining here to all the locals

We had a tapas style lunch plus a delicious yellow rice. The food and flavours were just amazing like nothing we had ever tasted, even in Thailand. I would drive to Bendigo just to eat there again.

The building is majestic and decorated in a calming and peaceful way. Service was excellent. You were made to feel very welcome. Would definitely go back with friends👍

the interior is beautiful with high ceilings and interesting decorative items ... each table is adorned with a vase of beautiful flowers ... service was quick and friendly ... ordered red curry duck with jasmine rice ... curry was fragrant with rich coconut milk but I found it too sweet and not spicy enough

Had the most amazing meal and the service was spot on!

Gorgeous food and a lot more room now that they have changed to rectangular tables. Only thing I would ask is that staff try to make eye contact when taking orders as using their ordering app (holding their phone up in front of their face) and not looking at people who are talking to them can make their customers a little uncomfortable.

I often get take away from here and everything is always beautiful. The food is fresh with bold flavours. I highly recommend bunja Thai.
