Review Bendigo Corner Store Cafe - Bendigo

Greg H
I booked a table at the Bendigo Corner Store Café at 305 View St Bendigo today as we had friends coming over from Ballarat to see the Elvis Exhibition at the Bendigo Art Gallery in the morning and from there we were going to have a meal. The food at the cafe was excellent and the company was great. The coffees were outstanding and the egg and bacon roll I had was superb. Although we dined inside there is plenty of room outside to eat and drink if you want to enjoy the sun. We all enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere of the Bendigo Corner Store Café was great. We would all return. Well done!

Best place I have been for breakfast on my travels work so far. Eggs Benedict was amazing, almond latte was perfect. If you want good quality food and service this is the place. Staff are amazing

Eggcellent eggs bene with ham, not too dry & the perfectly cooked eggs complimented with a seriously well made Almond Latte. Can't go wrong for a breakie in Bendigo. Staff are so friendly & love to chat too (maybe because it's a quiet Sunday after Chops wedding).

Drove up to Bendigo for the Writer's Festival & were so pleased the Information Centre suggested the Corner Store Cafe to eat. Just a few minutes away from super crowded Bendigo central, the coffees were perfect, crispy skin salmon was full of flavour & perfectly cooked, & the choc mint slice was delicious! Staff were friendly & service was prompt. I'll definitely return when next in Bendigo.

Ordered the Fritters which were cold because of the freezing cold smashed avocado layered on them, also burnt around the edges, had a few bites but that is all I could stomach. My partner ordered eggs on toast with salmon, toast had no butter, salmon had a bone in it and this meal was also unfinished. The extremely loud and obnoxious customer that seemed to love the sound of his own voice, made an uncomfortable dining experience for not only us, but the rest of the customers. I would not recommend this Cafe.

Very poor service, no acknowledgement when walked in, grabbed menus and sat outside. When staff member was finished at next table. We asked if we could place a coffee order. He refused to take it. Understand there may be staff issues. But no need to be treated in this manner. Disappointing! Much different experience at Percy and Percy 10 mins later!

The ham hock sandwich is always good Good coffees too

It is a super busy cafe and they were short on staff members when I visited. I would recommend booking, especially during peak hours. I really recommend the chilli scrambled eggs, but not the coffee.

This is the second time I have had a really bad experience here, hence this review. Today the quinoa fritters were inedible more like deep fried potato cakes. We also ordered jam on toast (simple enough) but the bread came out warm, not toasted. When we asked for it to be a little more toasted the very rude waiter replied that it's sourdough and it will take a long time... and it certainly did. This same waiter was also incredibly rude when we asked about the fritters as the dish served is nothing like it reads on the menu. Such bad service. Won't be going back

Sorry to do this to the lovely staff at the corner store, although the service was great the food on the other hand was terrible. I just came in this morning for brunch i had a Tuscan chicken salad which was big but that wasnt the problem. With my salad i was expecting the chicken to be warm but was stone cold. Not great for boiled chicken and the yoghurt with the balsamic vinegar was way too over powering the size needed to be smaller and it needed a little bit of shaved tasty or palmasian cheese to tie it all together so the flavour doesnt smack you in the face. I also had a decafe latte and there was hardly any froth on the top and the coffee was close to cold as the sugar didnt dissolve when i stirred it in. Also i bought a take away passionfruit and white chocolate muffin and it was hard, dry and dense the only thing tasty was the icing. All up NOT WORTH THE $26 I PAID FOR IT. Not the greatest start to the day. :-(

We enjoyed a lovely lunch here today. Catered for kids beautifully in a casual but welcoming environment. The staff were informative and friendly. Coffee was great and the food was tasty and looked gorgeous on the plate. Thank you!

Had breakfast here this morning before driving back to Melbourne, despite being busy the staff were prompt with the coffee and breakfast orders and all of it was great! Definately a great find in Bendigo.

We venture to the corner store every Sunday for breaky, each week the staff are wonderful, the coffee is top notch, and the food is always yummy!

Slow service 10 mins to get a latte, then it arrived Luke warm, another 15 mins later the bruchetta arrived and wow I could have done better myself at home.

Very disappointed to see that the Bendigo Corner Store has decided to remove beer, wine and cider from the menu when we called there today. Plenty of other options to explore around Bendigo I guess, we've been supporters since the place opened but....................

Great food and great service. Been quite a few times and never had an issue. Definitely will be back.

All ways good, fresh food, excellent coffee and friendly staff

This place had the worst service. We placed the order and only one meal came out. 30 mins later we asked where the rest of our order was and we were told it hadn’t been put in yet. There was no apology for this oversight and when I complained to the waitress she was very dismissive. Go to Percy Percy! Better food and far better service! I won’t be coming here again. I like my eggs without an attitude 😒

Popped in here after enjoying the Tudors to Windsors exhibition at the Bendigo Art Gallery. Just the spot for a light late lunch. The coffee was good and the toasted sandwiches delicious. I’ll have to revisit next time I’m in Bendigo.

Delightful little brunch place on the outskirts of Bendigo city. Came here for a day trip and decided to drop in, with no regrets. Lovely service, great atmosphere and good food. We ordered the cornerstore breakfast which came with eggs my way (scrambled), tomatoes and tomato relish with beans, bacon, sausages and a potato croquette. Although the croquette wasn't crispy, I thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the dish. There was not a tonne of flavours, but that suited me fine. We also ordered the taco bowl which was a daily special, and it came with normal and wild rice, guac and pulled pork. Again, the flavours were very subtle, but we quite liked it. Couldn't find fault with our cappuccino and chai latte as well, so I would definitely come back the next time I'm in town.

A lovely corner store serving brunch and lunch meals. The atmosphere is quite chill, food was average. We ordered the corner store brekky. The potato croquette was disappointing as it was chunky and didn't have any crunch. The poached eggs were slightly overcooked and the overall dish lacked in flavour. The tomato relish was good and the sourdough was crunchy and chewy.

Lovely cafe decor especially outside in the sun.<br/>The food was average, the chips were meant to be cooked 3 times however they were not crunchy. The fritters were bland. I wouldve rated a 3-3.5.<br/>Further point off for service, the sandwich came out & after approx 10+min the fritters had not arrived, we went in to ask and they had forgotten to place them with the order, there were only two of us at the table so unclear how this can happen & also why didnt the wait staff ask when they delivered one meal & saw us waiting. They were able to make the fritters quickly but not overly apologetic.

<br/>Great food , great coffe and always great when the staff know what yoi want before you order . Everything was amazing like always , cant wait for my next visit 😁
Custard Queen
I found the coffee too acidic, and the food below average. I paid $16 for the porridge which had about 1/4 cup of very fine/small grain (Quinoa it looked like) 3 tiny apple wedges, 4 blueberries and 4 raspberries. It’s an absolute joke for the price, in Melbourne I pay the same but have a full bowl of hearty breakfast. This entire meal could have fit in a 1/2 cup. My friends scrambled eggs had water at the base of the bowl, she complained about having to “drain” them. My other friend didn’t enjoy his meal vegetarian meal. The only person who said it was alright had a burger (but soggy chips!) Fair to say I was left pretty hungry upon leaving but not wanting to spend anymore money there. We didn’t complain because we didn’t want to get into anything. The locals I was with said something about this place going downhill, I would have to agree (I used to go there a few years back).

Easy parking. Good service. Good food. Good coffee. However on returning 2 mins. later to retrieve our dogs water bottle, the owner denied having seen it. I insisted that it was only partly used & required it for our dog. He reluctantly retrieved the now empty bottle from the bin & even more reluctantly filled it with 'hot' water. Thankx, 'Not so dog friendly' otherwise good cafe experience.
Jonti Ridley
The service was pretty good and good came relatively quickly, however the toast was bit crisp and the eggs (scrambled) were a bit running. Highly recommend the hash browns with salsa
Sorbetebros
Great local store which supports local businesses. Beetroot and quinoa burger was great. A nice place to visit for out of towners. Friendly staff and generous chip serving.

Most of the other cafes were closed for the public holiday so thought I'd give this place a try. Food wasn't bad though not a lot of variety and pricey for what you get. Coffee was daylight robbery- $4.50 for a watery espresso that tasted worse than the hospital coffee down the road. Did a double take when the fellow at the cashier put that one through but was assured that yes they did think their coffee was worth the amount charged. If you want a proper coffee head to Percy & Percy or Old Green Bean
Brew Hunter
Old Green Bean is a nice little spot to grab a good strong coffee on the go or to dine in for brunch in modern humble setting. <br/>I happened to be on break at work and was craving a good take away coffee. Not being a local of Bendigo with a snobby palate accustom to Melbourne’s sensational coffee scene, when I stubbled upon this vicinity that advertised its brew I decided to give it a go. <br/><br/>Upon entering this cafe the barista greeted me whole heartedly as I ordered the usual long black to go. The coffee took longer than expected but was rather worth the lengthy wait even thought cafe wasn’t busy at all. <br/><br/>The brew was hot, as in burn your tongue hot. The acidic texture was smooth and bold with strong bitter flavours. Overall the coffee was better than I expected it to be and next time I happen to find myself in Bendigo I would opt to come back to the Old Green Bean for a bite to eat as the menu sounds pretty delicious.
Reiijoce
Go early if you want a good seat to sip away the strong and aromatic latte. Portions for bekkie was fairly average but yummo.A good place to be if you are here on a day trip like me.

This cafe experience left me a little disappointed. After spending the week in Bendigo, taken by the town's easy going, laid back charm from other eateries similar to this cafe, I'm sorry to say that this was not continued at the Bendigo Corner Store Cafe. After reading the mixed reviews online, I thought I'd give this place a go. Not long after I arrived, I was abruptly greeted by one of the staff (owner presumably), I then politely asked if my partner and I could get a couple of coffees (as it was late afternoon) and I was met with a quick yet condescending reply of "we do table service....." With no further instructions from her and she just walked off. My partner and I chose a table outside as we were quickly served with water (a plus I'll admit) before being asked by the same staff member what we were after in regards to cake and coffee. We told her our order and she again abruptly walked off, and was left to made to feel as if we were inconveniencing them. Our coffees and cakes arrived shortly after placing our order (again another plus) but what really irked me over was paying the bill...their self proclaimed "table service" seemed no longer on offer. After waiting for around 10 mins to be asked for more food/drinks or for the bill, I decided to get up out of my chair and walk inside to finalise the bill. When I approached the counter there was no apology for this by any staff, but don't promise something you can't deliver, especially when you are NOT busy! My bill was quickly finalised and I did not get so much as a "thank you" or even a "see you later".... I left with cold silence. This experience demonstrated to me how common courtesy and basic principles in customer service need to be reviewed at this business if the owners would wish to avoid future similar less-than-satisfying reviews.

Very busy place. And the staff aren't very accommodating. The food is great - but took almost an hour to actually arrive. Could do with more than 2 umbrellas in the very hot back courtyard...Not thrilled.

I've been meaning to go here for ages, finally made this morning for a date with a girlfriend. I arrived first and was offered a drink straight away. I ordered a watermelon, Apple and ginger juice. It was delicious. My friend arrived and we both ordered the bacon and egg toastie. The toastie was also delicious, lots of flavour and the egg was cooked through as asked for as we are both pregnant. It was too hot to have a coffee, the air on was not able to cope with the heat, and we ended up having to to move to be closer to the air on as we were both feeling the heat. That though was really the only negative. Menu seamed a little pricey, although what I chose I thought was well priced. Toastie was $11 and juice $7. I'll be back when it's a little cooler to try a coffee, and something else in the menu!

Location: Easily accessible, short distance from main centre. Easy parking. Venue: quaint converted country store. We chose side walk dining with nice relaxing atmosphere. Service: good. Order taken & nice coffee delivered within minutes. Tasty breakky of eggs & bacon arrived in good time. Cost competitive.
Food Is Life
My partner and I visit here a bit.<br/>Staff are always friendly and the quality of food is usually pretty good (have had a rather gristly steak sandwich which I am not game enough to try again).<br/>The outside sitting area is great on a lazy Sunday arvo.<br/>Pricey, but worth knowing that they source their produce responsibly.<br/>Must try the chicken burger.
Mick
Friendly staff and great organic food. The seating out back is possibly one of the nicest places to have a lazy weekend lunch in Bendigo. Food is always of a high standard although I did find the gristle in my steak sandwich a bit too much to stomach and have not tried since (could have just been a bad cut). Chicken burger is a must though!

We go here for lunch on the weekdays. The coffee is very good, and the food is pretty handy too. Have had the steak sandwich a few times. The outdoor area is a highlight, indoors can get a bit loud at times. Staff are usually pretty friendly

Went for lunch today and was greeted quite pleasantly by a younger waitress who seated us and took a drinks order followed by our meals. That was fine, however the dark haired older waitress who proceeded to serve us for the rest of the experience was rude, abrupt and unfriendly. My wife and I went in to order coffee and sweets after lunch and were asked whether we "were finished" rather than, what else would we like. Meals were lovely, coffee very good, experience ruined however by the rude and obnoxious attitude of one sad staff member.<br/>Won't be back in a hurry.

Coffee is great. Food is always excellent and good sized portions. Service is spot on and they do a great job a catering for kids. Dining area out the back is great on a sunny day.

This place has the best coffee in Bendigo. I regularly come here for breakfast but the best part is the menu is all day so you can get a steak sandwich in the morning or a soup if it's cold! Staff are very nice and prompt service.

Do you even service?. Have never had such odd service before in my life. Arrived without even a friendly welcome but instead a sour look and a quick 'we probably can't find you anything'. Then when we did manage to get a table, we needed an extra seat, so when I asked the waitress she told me that all the other chairs are for other people and that I couldn't have one. Umm is it just me or is it common sense to find something for your customer to sit on? I even went as far as to ask for a milk crate in to lounge on which she replied 'no my manager won't do that either'. Thankfully a lady nearby was kind enough to give me her seat. Was I supposed to squat the entire time? Our food was brought out at different times and some of my friends had even finished their breakfast before my other friend even got a glimpse of hers. The girl that processed our order at the end was really lovely and the food was nice. Anyway, I do hope the cafe does learn to seat their guests in future and not refuse them a chair.

Food very interesting, a touch of difference on their dishes. Service exceptional!

Nice atmosphere, good food but incredibly rude staff with attitude. Some politeness towards customers ensures return business.

One of my Favourites. I have been here numerous times and enjoyed my meal each and every time. It is one of the places I can visit with my son from Melbourne and know he'll be happy with the vegetarian options and the quality of the food. I always check the specials board for in season produce showcased brilliantly !!

Regular visitor. I come here often on a Sunday morning for a coffee. I find the coffee delicious and the staff very friendly. When I do order food it has always been lovely. This morning I had one of the specials and it was just beautiful.

Lovely breakfast. Great environment to enjoy breakfast, while the place was very busy our meals were fairly quick to arrive at the table. Eggs were cooked to perfection & presentation was good. Coffee lovely, will be returning.

Great all round. The boys at moto bean sent me here to continue my 'coffee journey' through this part of victoria. <br/><br/>I dont know what the morons on this site are on about with their bad reviews, the food was outstanding, service excellent and the coffee was a big hit! <br/><br/>Good job to all of you guys. I will be recommending!!

Worst cafe meal I've ever experienced. We were visiting Bendigo for the weekend and thought this cafe looked quaint and the food sounded delicious. Pity it didn't taste that way. I had the roast vegetable, quinoa and feta salad. It was inedible. I've never left a meal completely uneaten before. The large chunks of pumpkin were parboiled, with a minute scattering of quinoa, sprinkling of flavorless feta and no dressing. Whilst the waitress was delightful, the manager was initially quite rude. The rest of our food ordered was also not great. Could do with a new chef and better attitude from management.

Great service, even better coffee. Is this the best cafe service in Bendigo? Possibly.<br/>Is thIs the best coffee in Bendigo? Definetly!<br/><br/>This place is awesome

Awful service. Rip off.. I could not believe how terrible the customer service is here! I am left feeling just mad.<br/><br/>My juice was hard to drink - the ginger was in gross little clumps floating around my drink. <br/><br/>My porridge was just a big bowl of Uncle Toby's oats with a little bit of stewed fruit on top. The banana tasted like fake banana topping. $13.50 for something that I could have made at home for $1. <br/><br/>When asked how my meal was, I explained politely what I thought. The waitress was lovely and said she would pass it on. Then when I went to pay, I was slugged $9 for the juice - $4 above the menu price. Why? Because I had a mixed juice so I was charged 50c for each seperate thing. What! Ridiculous. I tried to reason with the waitress explaining that I wasn't made aware. She then escalated it to the manager who after rudely dismissing me told her to charge $9. I asked him, do you really think I should pay $9 for a small juice to which he responded abruptly, yes. So I paid it and left.<br/><br/>That was such an unreasonable price for such a substandard juice that I had even complained about. Daylight robbery. <br/><br/>My mum and sister said their coffee sucked too. Don't bother with this place, guys.<br/><br/><br/>-----05 Oct, 2014-----<br/><br/>Worst cafe ever. You'll leave starving. This cafe looks lovely and quaint. But that's the only positive thing I can say about it. My first visit I ordered a coffee and it was terrible - something just not right about it. Second visit I ordered a $16.50 salad and was dismayed to see the size of it when it was put in front of me. Very tasty but I reckon it was gone in 8 mouthfuls max, that's more than $2 a bite! You get more value in Sydney & Melbourne, that's not right. And because I was still hungry I ordered a toasted sourdough sandwich thinking that should be more filling. Alas no, the bread was the size of a small piece of toast with very little filling. I mentioned when ordering the sandwich the salad was smaller than I expected and just got a 'yep' 'yep'... ie. hurry up and tell me what you want. We stayed around the corner and I wanted this place to be our regular but decided it was just too much of a rip-off and found somewhere else.

Thank you!. I was never going to be one to jump on the coffee bandwagon until I felt the peer pressure from friends and succumbed to the ritual of chat over a hot coffee. Soon enough, what started as a visit there on a weekly basis soon became a daily treat.<br/>It is not just the coffee that takes me to the corner store, though. I've slowly began to meet each of the front of staff team members and they all have a quirky but professional attitude. There is something really great about going in to your favourite store and having them remember your order and even better when you pop a phone order through and you just have to quote "the usual" and your coffee is ready and waiting for you to pick up on the go. <br/>I digress. I am not what you would call a "coffee expert" but what I do know is that my coffee comes out to the most perfect temperature, with just the right amount of froth and the perfect taste every time.<br/>On weekends our family heads to the corner store for brunch. We have the fussiest 10 year old boy on the planet. I couldn't resist the opportunity to tell him that the "delicious bun" that encases his favourite chicken schnitzel burger is actually made from pumpkin sourdough.<br/><br/>With tasteful decor that seems to freshen regularly, it is very easy to forget that we are not in our own dining room at home. We love that the corner store has side-stepped the popular metal stools that frequent cafes these days and opted instead for an eclectic yet coherent mix of practical furniture.<br/><br/>With their amazing coffee, delicious food, enthusiastic staff and comfortable dining, there is so much to love about the Bendigo Corner Store Café.

Consistently terrible.... I have been back a few times, just hoping that my 'ordinary to downright bad' experiences at this cafe were just a one-off. However, I can stay silent no longer. This cafe is terrible. There seems to be no system in place for the waiting staff to follow which results in them being extremely stressed (although to their credit they try to put on a brave smile) and getting orders mixed up etc. I arrived to our group a little later and asked for gluten free chocolate cake, but with ice-cream no cream, and a strong soy latte. The coffee arrived quickly but was weak and watery. I waited another 30 minutes, and asked several times, and finally my cake arrived but with cream. I pointed out that I had wanted ice-cream and the waitress visibly slouched with stress (the body language tells me these staff are pushed to the limit) but to her credit she changed the cream for ice-cream. Then a different waitress brought me another coffee. I said I had already had one, but I would have another (again watery)..Also, I seem to have had a coeliac reaction to the cake and have been feeling sick..I don't just eat gluten for the health benefits it is essential .. and now I doubt that the cake was actually gluten-free. This cafe is not worth the trouble.

Couldn't flaw this place.Table service from polite and friendly staff. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and especially pleasant outside in the beautiful Bendigo sunshine.<br/><br/>The "special" Pulled Pork roll was nothing nothing short of PHENOMENAL!!! Delicious,Affordable and Adventurous.-I'm not one to like BBQ sauce but this was incredible! Flavorsome to the very last bite and those onion rings were to die for!Well worth the trip

Inconsistent food, (sometimes lovely, sometimes inedible) Also very understaffed, stressed staff.<br/> Ordered poached eggs- beans, etc, etc. Got one egg, told other (didnt work.?) then got second placed in front of me when i had finished. Undercooked, in water, on saucer-Noice-not!! Oh, and the Creche at back <br/>of cafe. No prob, but not if Mums sit for 4 hrs on two lattes while others wait for a table. No thanks! Again, Management-move them on.

Really really average and a touch overpriced. I came here for breakfast today for the first time, after having wanted to try this place for ages, but unfortunately I was very disappointed. While there was nothing particularly wrong with this cafe, there was nothing particularly good either. My friend ordered the bacon and egg toastie and noted that the bread was incredibly dry, while my green tomato and quinoa fritters were rather flavourless and the heirloom tomatoes were cold. If it the fritters were around $13 I wouldn't have been as disappointed, but at $18.50, I was hoping for a little more. The coffee was also a little weak and watery for my liking. While I wouldn't complain if I had to return to Bendigo Corner Store, I certainly won't be hiking across town to come as there are many other better places in Bendigo.

I came into this little gem of a cafe today, I'm so glad I found it. I honestly could not fault anything. When my partner and I came through the door, a girl behind the coffee machine made insist eye contact with the biggest smile I have ever seen, told us to grab a seat and she will be straight over. She dropped what she was doing straight away just to seat us, asked her what was the best thing on the menu was, she looked straight at the specials board (you have trained her well haha) her reply was "anything on that board will never let you down". I mentioned to my hubby how confident that girl was, as I said it my hubby looked over at her and she was singing and dancing while making coffees which I could not stop laughing at. The first thing that we noticed was how busy it was and how every single staff member was actually happy to be at work (you don't see that often in hospitality) you must create such a positive work place for them. We ended up having meals off the specials board and they were amazing, we even had coffee and cake, the selection of cakes were incredible and I have never had coffee so perfect. We were in a complete food coma when we left, I can't wait to keep coming back to this place and try different things. I asked the girl on the coffee machine if I could talk to the owner because I wanted to share my experience, she said you weren't in, she gave me your business card. I would recommend this place to everyone.
Laura
Wow! Possibly the worst cafe that I have ever been to. Took 45m to get eggs, bread looked as though it had been dipped in water, needed a magnifying glass to see the side of avocado and eggs were not even as ordered! (Requested well done and delivered basically raw)! Horrible!!! Absolutely horrible, the service and lack of love and care for their food and cliental demonstrate a need for a change of staff- chef and waitresses. If you want a relaxing and enjoyable meal do NOT go here.

Tried this place out last week. A group of girls were working and they had us in fits of laughter, such a young happy group of young girls. You guys must be doing something right.

Love this place! My go-to place with visitors whenever they come to bendigo because the food and coffee is always consistently great, staff are very friendly and it is great value for money.

Staff neglected to tell me they had no quinoa, salad had couscous instead. It was pretty bland.

Up and down. We eat here now and then for brunch on a weekend. Started off good but has got tired very quickly. Attention to detail has gone and it unfortunately has become just another cafe. Came out fast with promise but is now ho hum.

GOOD. GREAT. SUPER.. Good atmosphere, good food, AWSOME MENU DESIGN, and the Muffin Of the Day is yet to let me down! keep doing what you doing corner store!!

The food is fresh and imaginative and the staff very friendly. Wish I lived around the corner because I'd want to come here every day. Busy with contented people!

Lunched there recently. Food was fresh and inviting. Had Jerusalem artichoke soup (special). Was full of flavour & texture. Service great. Ambience warm & friendly.

Icky coffee.... Disorganised. Strange (in an unpleasant way) tasting coffee. Staff not coping with the rush hour crowd-table was cleared after we sat down, but not given a wipe clean. Staff seemed stressed and surly (barista was vainly trying to uphold morale). There was a very annoying door that was left open constantly by patrons and, more surprisingly staff, as they came and went, letting in a very cold draft. The poor people near the doorway were not happy. Went there on the basis of these reviews, but did not think it worth the effort.

The goods. Three of us turned up unannounced for a lazy weekend lunch. They were flat out, but very accommodating and let us know our order would be a while (very much appreciated the honesty). The food was basic and humble but executed very well, unpretentious and delicious. My open steak sanga was a treat, no complaints there. I had actually expected it to be a bit fish-n-chip-shop-style-greasy, but it was really nice and the salad was fresh. My lime spider was spot on and once again, no complaints. Will return again and again, great work.

Bendiglo. I was ok with this on a Friday morn after a hungry drive from Melb<br/>Generous portions for ma big appetite<br/>Salty, buttery mushrooms, poached egg, wilted spinach,<br/>10mm thick toast of the underwhelming wholemeal variety.<br/>But please, I IMPLORE YOU.....<br/>DONT BUTTER MY TOAST WHEN I'M HAVING AVOCADO!<br/>Present it on the side if you must but don't negate my good fat for evil kind<br/>And re-think your position on presenting smoked salmon as an option<br/>When questioned why it wasn't there we were told it wasn't 'sustainable'<br/>? Sustainably viable as a perishable because Bendigo folk don't eat salmon or are you talking on a Global scale man?<br/>Don't they farm salmon?<br/>Because you have bacon & although it may be free range, organic - whatever, have you seen how those gentle animals are 'processed'<br/>Not cool.<br/>But you guys are ok I would do it again<br/>Just with salmon

We loved our visit to The Corner Store, there is nothing they haven't included or thought of. The cherry on top, a sandpit and blackboard in the backyard, both shaded by a huge overhanging tree branch. I could sit and sip lattes there for hours.
Appetite Affliction
These guys offer fresh juice, however their juicer was broken when I popped in – so I asked the staff member closest to the fridge to recommend a juice and she said this was her favourite. It contained apple, peach kiwi, mango & lime . The verdict? The waitress knows her stuff. Don’t let the colour put you off, this was a beautiful, sweet, natural juice. I chose a fairly under stated breakfast – the thyme mushrooms with rocket, avocado, lemon & sourdough without the goat’s cheese. If you order this, make sure you ask for the mushrooms to be cooked in oil
