Review One Tree Hill Hotel - Bendigo

The food was excellent, you can even call the best in Bendigo. Mains and Entree, all the sauce were wonderful, perfect cooked timing. Would definitely come back and recommend this place again.

Been awhile since I've gone back there, no reason in particular. The menu was basic pub menu , the food we ordered was great even with the little hiccup . The bistro manager did a fantastic job in reconciling the issue. Just to get the recognition, was more than enough. Will definitely go back again

Tried out the Thursday night $18 400gm rump steak being advertised. Pub under new management. Steak was cooked as ordered (medium rare) and was definitely 400gm. Highly recommend. Great to see as 12 months ago we said we would never go back. Great tradie sized parmy served too and tap beer on point unlike many pubs in Bendigo

Had a great meal tonight, welcomed by the staff, big thank you to James for accommodating us and the effort you went to for ensuring we had a good experience. Best tap beer in bendigo by a mile too.

Absolute great meals & service, so warm & comfortable especially during winter with the open fire, my whole family highly recommends the onetree hill hotel😁

Food was good, but only 2 vegetarian options. Staff were friendly and service good, even though they were busy.

Easy off street parking. Staff attentive, polite. Atmosphere cosy & inviting with open fire. House vines cheap with no real alternarives. Food good but vegies only warm. Waiting staff very apologetic & reportedly passed on our concerns to the chef. We will be eating elsewhere next time as this happened last visit also.

The food not good obviously everthing is from PFD nothing fresh. The fish was horrible defenitly frozen and cold, now the trio of dips the bread was cold and the dips the same everywhere boring and no taste ( and the chef is silly and too loud) if it was mine he would be gone... ohhh yeah and the spiders everwhere.

Went here for a feed with the kids and another family. Staff were great and the kids had fun playing outside when the meals were being prepared.
Then the meals arrived. The wife and I both ordered chicken parmas. As it turned out we shared a parma. You could actually see where the parma had been cut in half. The kids had fish and chips. The fish was fried beyond all recognition and was full of oil. The kids meals had more chips than the adults meals.
I then had to rely on the salad to satisfy. It was terrible as well!!!!. It was a very 1970s looking salad with no dressing.
DEFINITELY WON'T BE BACK.

Pub meals are good quality. They make a wonderful fish and chips at the One Tree Hill, the parmigiana and burger are massive serving sizes and well worth the price. Would gladly eat here again

Too Busy.. Sadly took 45 mins in cue to order meal.
Then meal was so long in coming had to leave for work before main arrived. (2 1/2 hrs after arriving)
Obviously too many parties were booked and not enough staff on. Will not return. ..

Good pub, friendly staff. I was not sure what to expect after reading reviews online but I went to the One Tree Hill Hotel last night to celebrate a friends birthday and we all liked it. All of the staff were friendly, it was clean and the food was great. It's good pub food and we enjoyed our meals. Kids meals were large too and the place was busy. We didn't wait long for our meals either. I'll go back for sure.

Unfortunately I have been banned from this beautiful venue for being silly on a number of times. But One of the best family pubs going around, great food and bar service! always booked out and very popular. Highly recommend.

Now To The Food Disaster. Recently took some friends to the OTH for an evening out. The Biggest mistake of my life!
The food at this place is terrible; actually revolting would be a better word for it.
As for the service that is pretty much non existence. We had to wait over and hour and a half for the revolting food delivered by a grumpy waitress!
We will never go back and can only hope you read this and book somewhere else.

The food is disgusting, and needs to be worked on, we also didn't find the staff to be friendly and welcoming and their topic of conversation whenever we went to the bar would not be appropriate and rather disgusting. I don't plan on going back there

Terrible service! Waited an hour and a half for meals and some on our table are still waiting. Give the seafood platter a miss too. For $35 you get 2 oysters, 3 prawns and a bit of salmon. Still starving!
Andrea
Appalling! Terrible service, had to wait for more than an hour. Very average pub meal. Will never go back again.

Cranky waitresses and extremely underwhelming food, prices good though but wouldn't go again

Oh dear god. Im not sure what type of category you would put this food into if you could even call it. Food more like pig slop surely there is just a house cook in the kitchen because no chef would have such. A lack of respect for them self or there customers to put out such food it taste like its from a supermarket pathetic

Same old story. If you have kids, I can see the appeal. The garden has been cleverly designed to be very family and pram friendly, as is evident by the number of young families meeting there for meals regularly.

The food is rubbish though. The menu is inspired by every kids menu from the 80's..... e.g. a seafood basket is pretty much the contents of a frozen food packet from the supermarket. I couldn't even identify some of the crumbed goods on my plate, even after tasting them.

If they can get a decent menu and deliver it (and you don't have to go nuts and all gastro-pub, just use fresh local produce and basic pub meals), this place would be off the charts.

As it is, it's not different to what it was before, just a few more pretty chairs and tables.

Although the food was quite good and the place was busy, I can't imagine why anyone would think it a good idea to place three small tables in the same room as a function of approx. 50 people. We had to yell across the table at each other, then giving up and eating in silence. Kids meals were very small for $9 and the choc mousse was past date...
