Review The Manchester Arms - Bendigo

Establishment has very poor management and service. Greeted by junk at the left and right at the entrance to the bistro with no direction of where to head from there. Even worse as they had no staff servicing the area, understandable with current climate but not even any indication of where to find appropriate staff members as there is 0 signage in the place. And then when you do finally find a staff member you are greeted with hostility and rude attitudes. Never been to a less inviting place that doesn’t want any kind of business before. Never left a review before but this place deserves it.

We had a fantastic evening, food was great staff very friendly. Will differently go back there and have another meal.

The Manny is one of the best pubs in Bendigo. The atmosphere is always awesome.

We had a great room for our hens night. Had our own bar as well. There was a little bit lacking in the drinks department, not enough variety...and some meals there weren't enough of. But over all, had a great night.

Very good restaurant recommended to go. They have very good chef here. Amazing and taste superb. Even though they run out of the lamb chop, they willing to put extra other ingredients. Friendly staffs and polite. Love their service. But have to spend some time to wait. That’s okay for me as I’m not rushing at that time.

Took the family for a meal out on the Sunday night; had the roast of the day; food was spot-on; with amazing value! The staff were very friendly and service was amazing! Clearly this bussiness had recently changed hands; the upgrades to the premises were obvious and the new owners should be commended; well done! I would highly recommend this hotel for a great night out! Give it a try 😎

A group booking today for a birthday, some with special needs ( 3 in wheelchairs) 23 people in total- given 10+ days notice. I am not exaggerating : 2 hrs between the 1st meal and the last meal coming out.No knives, had to request cutlery twice. Kids meal charged at price on menu but we didnt get ice cream that was to come with it. Need to go outside to get to ( only) toilet!? Clearly short staffed.. Never again. To be fair: At least the birthday boy got served first and no additional charge for BYO birthday cake.

Thank you Tania for your warm service and hospitality. The food was great , I really liked my side salad which had the perfect dressing. we went for the $5 chicken Friday night special. Highly recommend this great Aussie pub.

How dissapointing!!! Have been to the Manny a few times and raved over the food, staff and atmosphere. I should have written 5 star reviews then but didn't but certainly raved about the Manny to friends and family. Then last night was different. It was horrible... the staff were as wonderful as ever, BUT the meal was the worst I've ever had anywhere! I had Seafood plate "a selection of fried and cooked seafood with a light salad, chips, and tartare sauce" Out it comes, first thing I noticed it looked like shit, very unappetising looking. My plate consisted of overcooked nearly burnt fried seafood, the middle part of the lettuce, the white looking chunky part and no other "cooked seafood and no chips! But not usually a complainer and because it was rather late by this time I put up and shut up and tried to eat most of it. It was disgusting, dry fish, with the crumbing hard and almost burnt The other fried things I almost didn't know what they were due to being so over cooked, but it was 1 scallop and 2 prawns. Yuck yuck! I didn't even have chips to fall back on. So I'm sorry to have to leave this review but I won't be back until I know the beautiful homestyle meals are back, so please let me know when that is.

The Manchester arms hotel (Long Gully) Bendigo is a remarkable pub, it is an amazing venue with a twist of vintage and modern day Style, is always a great place to be with a positive vibe and happy faces, a place you can go and no matter whether your local or passing through you always feel welcome the moment you walk through the door, can't wait someone next visit

I'm a former chef and I rate the food awesome...Great atmosphere and being there with friends was totally worth it....

Went to comedy night and had a blast, have told heaps of friends will be booking a bigger table for the next one. Staff were awesome and food was the best. Great effort.

Friendly service, great atmosphere and even better meals! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a meal or just a drink! Cheap too!

Where do we start. 5 goes to get the drinks right. Brings out can of lift for my mother then asks would she like a glass or a straw. Comes back with glass which has a huge crack down the side. 20 minutes between the first meal, kids chips and nuggets and the the last meal which was my other daughter. Mixed grill burnt steak and chop shithouse, fish overcooked. Then you wonder why i didint pay for half of it. Piss the ipad off, hand write the order, and learn a little customer service. Wont be back for a very long time.

Love there Lamb Roast the best all meals are great and reasonable prices ,its one of a few places i enjoy going to in Bendigo.

Good to see an old style Aussie pub still delivering great meals, good times and supporting darts, pool and live entertainment without the pokies in a safe and hospitable manner. Good on you to all the team at the Manny.

Had a great night last night! We informed them of my hubby's 30th birthday. They had a fantastic band playing. The guy behind the bar was really friendly and my hubby was given a birthday drink and the band sang happy birthday to him. Thanks so much guys! We'll certainly be back!
