Review Turkish Kitchen - Bendigo

Oya's Turkish Restaurant Bendigo My partner and daughter have been here twice before but this was my first time. The decor feels a little dated. The table sizes were generous. The place needs a bit more ventilation as once cooking gets underway it can be hard to breathe in there, which isn't the best. Wait staff are basically non existent as you order up at the counter and they bring it out to you but other than that transaction there is no other service/interaction provided after that. The menu has a good selection of food to choose from, although unfortunately on my visit it was a little over cooked and a little underwhelming. This was just my first time here though and it wasn't that bad that I wouldn't come back. I will always give a restaurant 3 chances before I write it off completely. That said, I will add too this review later and recommend you go and try for yourself. If the owners really care about elevating the business to a great restaurant within Bendigo they should address the concerns above and get the staff to be more engaged with customers, just checking everything is alright, do the "eat in" customers need anything. That sort of thing. It's the small differences that turn a good experience into a great one.

Absolutely beautiful feed, will say was sceptical walking in not sure what to expect. Pleasantly surprised first with the Turkish dips then our kebabs. 100% would return here, yuuum

Food is so good we ate there 3 times over a girls weekend trip. Wish it was in Melbourne. Do check out the arts and crafts they sell too.

Had a beautiful open kebab, having never had one before. The meat was beautiful, the cabbage salad was so fresh and delicious. I loved it! The staff weren't as friendly as I would have liked but it certainly wouldn't stop me going back. Wish they were in Melbourne!

Well we've found our local Turkish cuisine provider. The food here was top class. The kebab was delicious, with fresh flat bread and meat spiced just right. Also had a vegetarian option (felafel kebab) which was delicious. Both servings were generous, our meals were hot and served in a timely manner. Restaurant was very clean and tidy and had a great atmosphere about it.Staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant is located in a beautiful part of Bendigo. Highly recommended, will definitely be on our list of favourite restaurants in the area.

The food was great, but the in-house service did not meet the same level.

Delicious!! The fresh baked turkish bread was wonderfully soft and fragrant. We ordered the chicken and lamb shish which was tender and juicy. Couldn't find fault with anything we ordered. Oya and her team are a joy to engage with. Lovely experience. Will definitely be back.

My wife and I have been here twice now and both times great service and delicious food. Recommend the Lamb pizza especially. Well priced and big portions. Highly recommend you try when in the area. 👍👍

The absolute best food I have ever had..!! Freshly cooked daily, the Staff work hard and do their absolute best to do what they can.. they are always happy and cheerful.. it’s a family friendly environment, very comfortable, nothing is a problem. Once a week visits to eat this amazing food.. thank you for choosing Bendigo to have such a fantastic restaurant �

This place has the best iskender outside Turkey that we've ever had. Thoroughly recommend it. So glad we found it while passing through Bendigo. Oya - you are a Turkish delight.

Beautiful food, delicious flavours and the young staff were lovely. We had a great meal. The dips were divine, the Baklava just like I remembered from the old "Alaysha" in Brunswick! Thank you for your hospitality.

Best falafel burger EVER! Vegan paradise :-) i didnt know I'd have to go all the way to Bendigo to get it but considering its right in thw heart of the Bendigo Blues and Roots Festival - it was worth the drive!

Lovely service and staff! Noticed a waitress who had to deal with an overly dramatic customer and she handled it like a pro. Even though the customer kept growling, she kept positive and catered to the customers absurd demands. I know how difficult it can be working in customer services and how rude some people can be so good on her for keeping her cool and respectfully serving after the disrespect she received ��

Delicious fresh food. Service was okay. Had to find the waitress a couple of times.

Well all I can say is avoid this place like like the plague, non existent service (even for drinks), a small basket of bread with the 8 bowl dips for the table, just ok main meals if you can get them 1) ordered, 2) cooked and makes it to your table 3) you survive the 90minute wait. The little old lady, who I assume is Oya, should be looking for a spot in a retirement home, the poor junior table wait staff just can’t cope. It’s not like the don’t know it’s Easter! A solid .25/5!!! Now off too McDonalds

we went today for wedding anniversary. And it was amazing the meal was fantastic so tasty and more than we could eat. Desert was mind blowingly yummy. Will definitely be going back again and again. Thanks

Just had the best Turkish in decades here. Glad we found it during our brief stay in Bendigo. Highly recommended if you're here in town! Great food, service with a smile, what more could you want?
