Review Red Lantern - Bendigo

brenda “brendalee”
Friendly staff and service Food nice and Hot. Got takeaway. Lots of Meat. Bit bland Lots of juice need cornstarch to thinking it up.. Bags had juice in the bottom by the time we got home.. Never had so many vegetables in a Chilli Prawn dish before.. But then the combination dishes didn't seem to have enough veg. 1 prawn in each container 2 pieces of BBQ pork Mostly beef & chicken. How ever Full containers Not bad prices.

This humble eatery was a brilliant surprise. On the main road and easy to park at, my party of 5 enjoyed all our meals. Salt and Pepper Squid, Satay Beef, Sweet and Sour pork, Prawns with cashews, all delicious, served quickly and with a smile. A great finale to a day with Elvis. Red Lantern rocks

Astoundingly good food. Fresh with no cheap cuts. Generous serves. Great gluten free options. Very friendly service. The lunch deal looks particularly good value.

I took my family lately for dinner. It's not a fine diner stuff with basic looks & seating . Chairs was placed all the way near the counter w/ no space to go in . Average food with no Chinese Authentic taste at all. Fried rice was patheic & not fully cooked w/ uncooked frozen vegies. Honey chicken was fine Fried icecream was super horrendous . I mean really really terrible. Icecream was fried in old oil with very weird taste. Lolz , we only enjoyed prawn crackers Sorry , not coming back for sure

Drove in from Adelaide to see Elvis exhibition in Bendigo today and googled Chinese restaurants, came up with Red lantern. We were not disappointed! Tasty food, quick service and fair prices. The best part was a lovely chat with the owner. She's an awesome, hard-working young mum running this restaurant with hubby in the kitchen. So friendly and sweet. Hope to visit you again!

Choice on menu is excellent, service was very good, prompt & courteous. Food very tasty & well cooked. Prices reasonable, corkage a bit pricey @ $3 per person IMO Clean & tidy presentation, not 5 star if that is what you want though!

My family and I get takeaway from this place often as the food is good but after tonight I’m going to be looking elsewhere for Chinese as the customer service has deteriorated and has never been that flash a way. When you are told your pick up will be ready in 35 mins and you give them an extra 10mins but are told when you go to pick it up, it’s “nearly ready” and you wait another 15 mins before saying anything, I think an apology would be in order! Not “we have been very busy” when you see the menu log orders walking out the door. We ordered 5mins after they opened so we wouldn’t have a long wait! I would rather go somewhere else where you spend less and get a complimentary bag of crackers or something and more important, good customer service!
