What do you mean I haven't reviewed Humble Creatures yet?! I'm here just about every day for a coffee if not breakfast! Great food - my favourites are the eggs benedict with smoked ham hock and the smashed avocado. Lovely staff who provide great service and happy to welcome my messy 1 year old.
Friendly service. Great coffee and yummy food. Mushrooms are delicious as is!!! Never disappointed and food is always fresh and quick to the table.
The coffee I had today was spectacular. Their ham cheese,tomato croissant is very fresh , I cannot wait until the kitchen is up and running to see what more exciting things to come.

My new favourite cafe around Bentleigh East. Many nice new cafes mushrooming around this area in recent years, and Humble Creatures hit all the right spots. Coffees are excellent, they use A2 milk, their muffin is the best, and the food is very good too. Also modern decor. The price is also quite reasonable, same or lower than other fashionable cafes in this area.
Just recently moved to the area and this has quickly become our weekend spot. The staff are always friendly, the food is delicious and the prices aren’t outrageous. What more can you ask for!

Humble Creatures should be proud of themselves. Delicious food, excellent coffee and super friendly service.
My partner and I dropped in for brunch, and both enjoyed our meal very much. The serving size of the Green Pea and Cabbage Fritters was on the smaller side, but taste-wise, no complains. The wasabi mayo gave a piquant yet tangy kick to the dish, while the slight sweetness of the okonomi sauce balanced out the bold savoury flavours of the rest of the ingredients.
The Mushroom Medley was also delicious, not surprising considering the black truffle was the perfect match for shrooms. Aromatic, nutty, earthy and umami all at the same time. The pickled onions cut through the slight oiliness of the dish, and the pinenuts added a delightful crunch.
I enjoyed my dirty chai very much, and it was also the case with the skinny latte. Could be a tad stronger but very pleasant to drink nonetheless.

Visited Humble Creatures cafe with some friends for brunch on a busy Saturday morning. It’s a lovely little cafe with friendly service. I ordered the smashed avocado on pumpkin loaf which was delicious. I enjoyed the addition of mint, chilli salt and lime to balance everything.
My friends ordered the fried chicken burger and soba noddles which they enjoyed. Staff were accommodating and were happy for my friend to add crispy chicken to the soba noddles dish instead of the usual smoked salmon or poached egg options provided on the menu.
Great place!! One of my favorite places, never disappoints with their friendly, efficient service and provides quality and delicious food each time! Highly recommend :))
Japanese Inspired Breakfast
A sneaky cafe tucked away in the residential area of bentleigh sits this little gem.
I came for breakfast for 1 and sat at the communal table as I worked.
I had the cabbage fritters (okonomiyaki) with a strong coffee.
This Japanese-esk inspired breakfast was delicious. Great balance of flavours with that hit of wasabi on the mayo. The presentation was attractive and the taste matched the presentation.
Great coffee too. I love the cold drip in the middle of the table as decoration. Nice touch.

Visited a friend today and she took all of us here. It was such a good choice!
Service was absolutely amazing! Staff were so friendly and patient with little kids as well! The cafe has so many kids books to keep them occupied.
I ordered an iced coffee it was soooo good like soooo good, if you love ice-cream in your iced coffee like me (that's right Im not a coffee snob I like ice-cream in my coffee I also like a good cold brew). Food wise I had the cheese burger with chips, friends had the mushroom dish and the soba noodle. All of us enjoyed our meal, Portion was really generous as well.
It was such a nice day to sit outside and everything was just perfect! Oh and we saw the smallest and cutest dog ever! If I ever am in the neighbourhood again I will be back!!
Quaint little place right in the middle of suburbia. Staff were attentive, the place itself looked great and food was not disappointing at all.
My friend got the chilli scrambled eggs which looked divine and I got the smashed avo. One of my favourite dishes and one of the best renditions of it I’ve ever had the pleasure to devour.

This cafe is hidden thick in the burbs’ of Bentleigh East and I’ve been wanting to try it for so long since it’s walking distance from my folks place.
Despite being a busy Saturday morning, the staff were attentive and able to seat customers within 5 minutes of arriving. The menu has an Asian fusion edge to the menu- which was demonstrated in the items we ordered. Green pea and cabbage fritters which was served with wasabi mayo and edamame beans was a nice change from the usual corn fritters and the chilli scrambled eggs with sambal was delish and oh-so filling! I think my eyes were larger than my stomach that morning because I struggled to finish the eggs and had to admit defeat 3/4 of the way through.
Coffee was on par with what us Melbournians expect from a cawfee, and I’m definitely a willing participant to try out more of this menu!

Found this quaint little cafe after visiting the Bentleigh farmers markets close by. Coffee was good, food was very nice as well. Menu has a little bit of an Asian fusion taste to it. Will definately visit again!

A nice cosy venue close to East Bentleigh primary school. The menu isn't huge, but there is always a changing special every couple of weeks. Chili scrambled eggs and iced coffee are both perminant items which were both great. The breaky burger needed a little something but I'll definitely be back. The beef burger looks good.
Order: Chili Scrambled Eggs & Chai Latte. Taste and presentation is on point here. The scrambled eggs dish balanced all the ingredients so well which made the overall taste very great. Compared to many other places, you do not get "overwhelmed" by the egg taste. The bread was well prepared and was not dry or seem "off" in any way. The best scrambled eggs I have tasted so far in Melbourne. Additionally, the Chai Latte was definitely a highlight. Loved how I could blend it out as I like, which made it feel extra fresh at every sip. The overall experience was great, super friendly staff and cozy location. Highly recommended!

Amazing! Good food and good coffee! Had benedict and an extra side of mashed avo. Dish looked like a small portion but it was actually very filling because there was a lot of different toppings. Probably the best eggs benedict i’ve had!

HELLO new favourite cafe ever. I’ve visited a couple times now and can safely say best smashed avo dish I’ve ever had- and it’s all I ever order when I go out. The coffee is consistently perfect! My brother reckons best latte he’s ever had- I’ve got the whole family hooked. The interior is super modern and bright. The staff are so lovely and hard working. I can’t say enough good things about this place.

Love this fairly new brunch place with an Asian twist. Had the chilli scrambled eggs and my friend had the eggs benedict which were delicious. Atomsphere was bright, clean and spacious. Will surely return to try their other dishes. What a gem.

I love the fact that this cafe brings life to a quiet suburban street situated in Bentleigh East. It is amazing what this young hard working couple are capable of. Today I had the chicken burger and tasted a bit of the chilli eggs and can't believe Eric is behind it all. The food tastes better when you know how much thought, effort, time has been put into it and in this case one single person with minimal help, impressed to say the least. Tiffany running FOH, ever so sweet even at the busiest of times and without doubt, so efficient. They also do great coffee!
So happy since they opened, as we only live around the corner.

Decided to try Humble Creatures for a Sunday lunch. The staff were exceptionally pleasant and helpful. We ordered the Crispy Lime & Prawn Tacos and the Japanese Green Pea & Cabbage Fritters. Both meals were delicious but the drinks (coffee & a juice) were a bit average. We'll definitely give Humble Creatures another try.
My favourite cafe, always greeted with a smile, the coffee is awesome and the food is AMAZING! My favourites are the chilli scrambled eggs and the smashed avo dishes but I've never had a meal there I didn't enjoy!

Was pleasantly surprised with this hidden suburban gem. Boyfriend and I wanted to go to a local cafe for breakfast and loved it here. Service was great, almond milk latte was perfectly made and the smashed avo was awesome. Loved the zestiness mixed with the chilli flavours. Will definitely be returning!
Ok where's the staff? Two people serving. Barista has seen me but no acknowledgement and very quiet so no excuse. Takes nearly 5 mins for someone to come out with menu and water after serving someone who went inside after me. I'm a fussy cow so I prefer way quicker. Tell me, am I too precious? Probably.
Tick almond turmeric latte. Tick almond mocha. Tick prawn tacos. Omg. So wonderful and two of them were almost too filling. Had planned to take one home but I ate slowly!
It's a little bit of schlep from home but as it's just around the corner from a friend's it's a perfect place for a coffee and bite to eat. Very impressed. Only 3.5 for waiting time. Will change it on next visit if service faster.

A great sunny spot. Unfortunately we visited the day after it appeared in the herald sun meaning staff were under a lot of pressure. Food was delicious but service lacking. I had the mushroom medley with an extra poached egg and my friend had the avocado with bacon. Both meals were delicious but my poached egg was forgotten and there was no apology from the waitress and no explanation. I was left wondering whether or not it was coming. We then realised the pumpkin bread was missing and replaced with sour dough. We had both chosen our meals for the pumpkin bread - had we known it was run out we would have had the Japanese pancakes. Again poor communication from our waitress and no apology. The owner did come over and apologise and was really nice so we can both overlook the sullenness of the waitress and focus this review on the delicious food and good coffee instead. I will be returning for the pumpkin bread.
Beautiful modern cafe, spacious with clean sleek design. Service was good. Coffee was average. We ordered the prawn tacos & fried chicken burger with shoe string fries. Tacos was lovely, prawns were well cooked & crunchy, avocado with lime tied the whole dish together - yum. The chicken was a bit dry for the burger but kids would love the crispy sinful fries.
New little spot. I had the Benedict which was really great, good flavours & my friend had the tacos, which she said had heaps of flavours as well. The vibes of the place were a bit dull, as there wasn't much decor going on & I don't remember music playing. But none the less was a good brunch place & the service was really good too

So impressed with brunch here this morning. The food is top notch and the staff are lovely. I ordered the mixed truffle mushrooms with feta, picked onions, pine nuts and a poached egg on pumpkin toast. This was absolutely delicious. The eggs benedict were equally tasty. Definitely a suburban gem!
I feel like I am here everyday but why not! Number one is service, prompt and always with a smile. On top of that is great coffee and lovely food. I'm very partial to the eggs benedict with ham hock! Plenty of high chairs for the little ones and no guilt when the kids make a mess.
Really good local cafe that serves speciality coffee. It's well priced and good value for money! Very spacious and kid friendly for those mums who want to organize a gathering. I usually order the eggs benedict but dying to try the other stuff on the menu! Also the green juice is one of my favorite

Delightful trendy cafe, one of our favourite cafes! Best place to grab a coffee and cake! We had the cheese burger, spicy pumpkin smash and kids waffle with ice cream and chocolate. Best tasting cheese burger I've had ever. Food was amazingly presented and full of flavour. Staff are so friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend it. It's great a cafe to bring your family :)
Great addition to the area. Nice little cafe with small menu but good variety. Staff are very nice. Space is great but very stark at the moment. Maybe more decor will be added. We've had breakfast and lunch there and both were very nice. Not spectacular but quite nice.

Humble Creatures lives up to its name. The staff are friendly and inviting yet still humble and appreciative of their customers. We ordered truffle mushrooms and the fritters. All arrived quickly and were absolutely delicious. Coffee here is one of the best I've had in a long while. Highly recommend visiting Humble Creatures.

Food: we got the eggs Benedict and the mushroom melody. They were both absolutely amazing and tasted delicious.
Coffee: everyone has their preference, but have to say this was pretty darn good coffee
Service: excellent from the very beginning, the team here were very friendly and helpful.

Edit: went back for another round and had the O.G burger and fritters. The O.G burger is delicious, kinda taste like a better and healthy version of the big Mac, but the fritter was not really my thing - a bit too saucy for my liking.
We were having a car repaired at the mechanic nearby and needed some morning sustenance, I found this humble café on google maps and the rest is history. A great contemporary vibe inside and out, prompt greeting when we entered and were seated quickly. Offered drinks right away and their menu had plenty of options to choose from.
I went for the fritters which came out beautifully presented and the taste didn't let me down either. Everything was reasonably priced, the staff were run off their feet for the whole duration of our visit. Great little cafe, the owners should applaude their employees.
Got a recommendation to check out this little gem by my ex coffee and food teacher and my family and I weren't disappointed.

I had a Matcha Latte and the Soba Salad which were divine.
My mum had the loose leaf chai and enjoyed it despite it being full of little pieces since she normally gets the powder chai.
Dad got a cappuccino and scrambled eggs on toast which he enjoyed.
If we weren't told about this place, we probably wouldn't of known that it existed since the area it's in is so unconventional.

If I had to say one negative thing, it would be that the inside has no atmosphere since there are no paintings on the wall or music but other than that, it was a good outing.
Awesome that they had the machine that makes the cold brew on display since its not really something you would see very often.
The seats you sit on at the mail table are quite heavy so be mindful when your moving them.

Very homey and welcoming small cafe. You walk in and feel as if you've been invited to a get together with friends. The wait staff were lovely and the service was quick, only having to wat 10-20min for our 5 meals.
I got the Mushroom Medley which was one of their vegetarian options. There was a crispy warm slice of sourdough bread underneath this beautiful savoury mouth-watering heap of mushrooms and fried lotus. The mushrooms were soft and bouncy while having an amazing earthy taste, whilst the lotus provided a nice crunch. The toast had hummus, spread on it, which in my opinion was a little too much, a little less would have really enhanced the flavour of the dish rather than try to be the star of the show. Other than the dish was a well balanced vegetarian meal which I would highly recommend to anyone going.
A highlight of Humble Creatures is their beautiful fries, the chips were exquisite compared to other places I have been. They were seasoned with just the right amount of salt and spices and had this nice bite to it.
Overall, the cafe is a place I would highly recommend for familes, dates or even just to stop by and much worth the drive our if you don't live in the area.
This is my 6th time visit in this cafe.Every time I visit this cafe the staffs are so friendly and welcoming.The foods are always with same quality and quantity.Really delicious food.Food with big portions in an affordable price.Had beef burger and the patty was perfectly cooked (juicy),the bun was hot and moist as well with perfect humber sauce.Gonna visit the cafe again.Thank-you guys for the yummy food and perfect service
