Review Noisette - Bentleigh

Vanessa Wong-Lee
A nice bakery located in Bentleigh. Friendly service and we bought a chocolate croissant which has nice layers and the chocolate pieces melted when eaten. Almond croissant is good too
Alireza Bahramzadeh (Ali)
Didn’t have coffee, only an Almond croissant $5.5, it was good and properly toasted, in nice takeaway box with napkin, great customer service as well.

A bit too hot my coffee but really nice toastie. The prices I think are a bit expensive.

Located across from Bentleigh station, this hidden gem is bit hard to notice because the "NOISETTE" sign bit small. It's very cozy cafe to have good coffee and beautiful pastries, lunch bites or take home luxury cakes for any occasions. No wonder this place is always busy, all the food are excellent, of high quality and prepared with care. The price also cheaper compared to other cafe. I always go there for my afternoon tea on the weekend and will keep going back for sure.

Noisette Cafe in Bentleigh is a great spot to get a Coffee and a Pastry, there are so many different Pastries to choose from and the quality is above average, the staff are very friendly and inviting, I Highly Recommend Noisette Cafe Bentleigh 🥐☕️

One of my favourite, and certainly the best coffee in Bentleigh area. We spent only $16 for 2 lattes and dolce pear danish pastry and delicious portuguise tart. The interior was nice too and the toilet was very clean See photos.

The prosciutto baguette was quite dry. The savoury spinach & ricotta danish was delicious, in comparison, their cherry danish was average.
Sunny Days Melbourne
Our friends brought over an Opera cake from Noisette for dessert after a home cooked dinner. The cake looked stunning topped with pieces of white chocolate which had music notes on them. Overall the cake was not sickly sweet. The coffee layer was bold and delicious. There were a couple of textures throughout the cake. Everything combined well together and with a cup of tea, it was an out of this world experience!

Friendly and quick service during current situation. Pistachio Vera is a very special cake. The cheesecake is delicious as well. The rest we had are average.
Coffee Bear
I used to go to Noisette all the time and loved it - coffee and cake was great - but then the coffee started to become inconsistent and I tired of bad coffee so stopped going there. I will still buy the cakes, which I've always loved - but take away only now so I can have decent coffee!

Tried Noisette Bentleigh today for the first time very disappointed. The display left a lot to be desired all the savoury items appeared to be just thrown in the display cabinet. The Croque Monsieur were thrown in a pile to be heated up. I tried one of these it was quite nice but would have thought they would be made fresh when ordered. Tried a winter flower cake, very disappointing, it was tasteless basically cheesecake for $7.90. The guy on the register appeared as if he did not wish to be there. Will not be back, there are many French Pattisseries in Melbourne far superior to this one.

The presentation of the store is exquisite and gives of a nice vibe. I have only ever had a Ham and Cheese croissant from Noisette so I can't judge much. The croissant was pretty average the cheese was a bit heavy and I did not get the feeling like I was in Paris whilst eating it.
Lisa
I bought some take away teacakes ( one lemon, one banana), some sable florentines, sable breton and chocolate cookies from this cafe over the last few month . Very happy with the quality and taste of the products. Kept wanting to go back to get more. Tried their plain donut today- yum! Staffs are friendly and helpful.

While the food and dessert display is quite impressive and had me salivating at the sight, the actual taste was disappointing.<br/><br/>I expected the danish and croissant to be flaky and crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. I just got soft and chewy. The sausage roll meat flavour and texture is indescribable and was poorly received. The scrambled egg roll and ham cheese toastie were average.<br/><br/>I really enjoyed the mini vanilla beignet. I would have been happy if I had chosen a dozen of them with my coffee instead.

Great little French bakery <br/>The coffee is ok, but the cakes are lovely <br/>Their baguettes are fresh and tasty with lots of ingredients to choose from

Was walking through Bentleigh when we noticed Noisette and as we had seen pastries from this place being sold on the menus of other cafes, we were definitely going to check it out.<br/><br/>Unfortunately our high expectations could not be meant... We ordered a almond pain au chocolat, almond croissant and cherry danish. Got them take away and eat them in the car. Unfortunately we found that the pastries almost had a soggy texture which we suspected may have been from the fact that it was 3 o'clock and these were baked in the early morning. However, there was nothing special about the flavours either and we found that the croissants were dense not light a flaky..<br/><br/>Therefore we give this place a 3 out 5.

You suggest that I should be friendly and polite in my writing of a review- please advise the staff of the same before they get reviews that highlight their manner. Great cakes but marred by very poor customer service... no acknowledgement when you enter and when waiting at the counter for a considerable period of time - no acknowledgement either. I understand that they are busy but acknowledgement doesn’t mean you have to drop everything to serve. Cheer up- it’s very unpleasant to feel like an intruder rather than a paying customer. This has been my experience on a number of occasions now.

Came here on a quiet Thursday morning, ordered a latte and a mini cherry Danish.<br/>Coffee came out 15min later. It looked like the barista was making coffee for the people after me before I even got my coffee. Coffee was average given the price!<br/>Nice atmosphere, cozy. The cherry Danish was delicious though.<br/>Overall could improve on service definitely!

Great pastries, friendly efficient service ... Always!<br/>But the tables, oh the tables. Nowhere else in the world have I sat at such small annoying tables. Its very easy to knock your phone off the table and its impossible to eat and read a newspaper at the same time. To make it worse, the lovely crockery which would look elegant on a standard sized table is too big.<br/>If you are seated with a friend, its very very tight, unless all you are doing is having a cup of something and no plates of food.<br/>For such successful "pastry cooks", an important overlooked bit of detail .... The comfort of customers !!

"Went to noisette (cafe/bakery) and got a cheese and tomato crosaint and omg it was the best crosaint I've ever had in my life!!!! They put herbs on it too and the cheese was so creamy, perhaps even a cheese sauce like a bachemel sauce 😍😍😍😍😍 you will have to try one from there!!! You will love it! And the actual crosaint was crunchy on the outside and so perfect 😍😍😍"<br/><br/>Was the msg I just received from my girlfriend, so I guess I need to try this place.

Good coffee obviously, but the line in the morning usually to be long. Could you please add more hands on weekdays morning? 😛😃😀😄😁😆🤓😂💼

Working down the road from Noisette, this is our go to for birthday and celebratory cakes. The desserts are to die for, perfect for a special occasion but the food and coffee is average.
Suburb Review
Great strong coffee, delicious baguettes with a French feel. My new fav on Centre rd, will definitely pop back in for the baguettes. The cakes looked delicious also.
Jelecy
Bought 6 inch winter flower cake, it tastes good but I can’t feel the hazelnut in it. Will try cheese cake next time which seems more popular. I can’t really tell much diff for 6/8 inch, they both look quite small.
Zomatino
A french cafe serving all kinds of sweet and savoury products. Their Almond Croissant is one of the best, all the other small items are pretty good too. The sausage roll and Spinach and Feta Pastry are pretty good as well. Coffee was of a good standard as well. Haven't yet tried their cakes but will surely give it a try. They can get a bit busy and service might lag during such times.

The quality of croissants, pain au chocolat and pain aux raisins is amazing. Love the chicken filled baguette - feels like i'm back in France which baguette that has tastes authentic.<br/>Staff are nice and service is pretty good for a bakery.
Beth O&#039;Reilly
Love their coffee, cakes and pastry especially the croissants 🥐. Nice environment with warm lightings which I like ( not too bright). They serve water with paper cup which I love too.
Split The Bill
We had a party to go to and had to bring something. First place I thought of going to buy a cake or another treats was Noisette. As we arrived just after lunch there wasn't a lot of cakes left. Best to book cakes in advance if fussy. We brought the baked cheese cake $35. It was hit! I was hoping to have another slice however, it was the first cake to be eaten. Highly recommend Noisette cakes.
Michael Katting
Cakes lovely. Coffee very good. Nice big room, not too noisy, good location in Centre road. Staff disorganised - there's a long counter so we got overlooked even though we were the first to arrive, then staff forgot our cappuccino and thought we'd ordered flat white. Then staff apologised for delay saying they got busy - by the time we got our coffees they had 6 or 7 customers between three staff - manager needs to set a better system in place. When we complained we got funny looks even though it was true what we said. Disappointed but will probably go back anyway - will just have to repeat everything and stay at counter <br/>

Food is good but I think it Is kind of expensive. I had a croissant and it was $5 if not more. My friend had a chocolate croissant and the actual croissant itself was big but there was hardly any chocolate so she shouldn't even have bothered having a chocolate croissant.

First time visit today and with not much time to spend. Quickly ordered a croque monseur. Looked good in the window. <br/>Toasted sandwich style with bechamel sauce. Hot, creamy, indulgent! <br/>Understandably French patisserie will be pricey. It was!<br/>

The food here is good but the service is absolutely terrible during busy periods. I came here on a Sunday for brunch and it was a struggle to find a clean table; I had to ask for it to be cleaned twice. It took 15 minutes for our coffees to come out however it was not what we ordered. They replaced my coffee but forgot about my friends and it wasn't until we prompted them half an hour later that they remembered.<br/>Overall I think it would be best to just stick with takeaway pastries or sandwiches.
Ginelle
I waited 18 minutes for my take away flat white!! I repeat 18! This is the second time I've been here and the service is terrible. In spite it bring a quiet Saturday morning. 20 minutes to spare before my train and thought it'll be plenty enough for a coffee but definitely not if you're ordering from here. The barista made orders that were placed after me. The coffee isn't that great given the wait too, I've had better coffee made quicker.
Emmaandamei
Great coffee and bakery. Love the almond croissant and chicken avocado toast. However the cake and sweets are not so good. I've booked my birthday cake last year and it was disappointed.
Barry Knobel
Best bakery ever! Loved the spinach and ricotta pastries, which are delicious. They were honest and accommodating to my dietary requirements. Great laid-back place for a quick snack or a meal. I would highly recommend this place.

Always been here to bought coffee for boyfriend in the morning and sometimes in the afternoon, staff always smile and friendly, nice to talk to.
Richard Campbell
The best takeaway sandwiches on Centre rd, hands down! I love stopping in on my way to work and grabbing a (great!) coffee and a sandwich to enjoy later in the day. This place is obviously a bakery, first and foremost, so its great to see that they think about what they are putting into their sandwiches. Also a fantastic selection of cakes and pastries, will always keep me coming back for more!
Libracharlie
Have only had coffee here but it's excellent and the range of cakes and pastries is mouthwatering. Staff are friendly and the surrounds lovely. Did I mention the cakes and pastries...?
Sue
Always a favourite and consistent with great coffee, delicious croissants and other pastries. So glad it opened in Bentleigh and no longer need to travel to Port Melbourne.
MF
The nicest from this bakery was only the beignet, the danish was just okay. The service was nice and friendly, she was very attentive too. we realized that she count our bill wrongly, we paid less than what we supposed to, but when we realized, we were already in the car n left, felt bad but nothing we can do coz we already far. Overall ok.

Have been wanting to drop in since I found out many cafes get their bread from. Noisette. <br/>Noisette has a nice vibe and offers a variety of sweet and savory pastries, bread, cakes as well as serving up great coffee.
Hooray4bread
I know it's Sunday morning, and the lace is buzzing. But coffee shouldn't take this long, especially when the pastries were served 10 mins ago! My fruit bun was $2.50 but it was tiny and there was scant fruit. Coffee (when it came) was fine and my wife enjoyed her croissant. This place should really compete more with Tommy Tucker, but somehow doesn't. Tariff was reasonable, tea, coffee, apple juice, croissant, pane au raisin and two fruit buns for $25.
Sam
Horrible service. Coffees came out 5-10 minutes apart from each other. Had to wait 20 minutes for a croissant that was not heated. Very disorganised cafe and will not be coming back.
Sab
What a great place for morning tea! We sampled 4 different pastries...all delicious & fresh. Nice decor and wonderful customer service. Tres Bien!!!
Shimona
Yes yes yes! Good selection of pastries and my personal favourite - chocolate eclair!! Coffee is not too bad too. Overall, score one for Bentleigh!
Pineapple San
Mouthwatering sweet and savoury goodies - what's more to say?!<br/>I am very impressed with Noisette. The staff were friendly, cakes were crazy delicious and well presented, interior was pleasant!<br/>I decided to go sweet and tried the salted caramel eclair and lemon tart. The eclair was great; not overly sweet! The lemon tart is the best I've ever had! It was really tangy and super smooth and soft! It was love with every bite and was quite sad when I finished.  Definitely recommend these, especially the lemon tart!<br/>The only downside is that they're all quite pricey, and yet are on the smaller side. However it's quality not quantity that makes Noisette a winner. Love this place!
Foodfun
Quite overrated :( Pastries overly sweet, the doughnuts were thick and tasteless, and I felt the service was quite poor. But we did get there quite late (12pm) and all the savoury vegetarian dishes were sold out, so maybe we didnt get to try their best. Coffee was okay
Jay
It is definitely one of melbourne's best bakery. Their almond croissants and danish are really delicious and freshly baked. We also had some of their macarons, eclairs and cheesecakes. will definitely go back and also try their coffees and breads. the Atmosphere is very relaxing and clean. the...

Just magnificent space to be in ....<br/><br/>Casually set up, yet rich in materials and comfortable to be in. Great long display cabinet with their products lined up ready to be devoured, Bentwood chairs, round tables and communal tables, modern lighting cafe element. polished Concrete floor, and clean toilets .... yeah.<br/><br/>Lots of history to this business, 5 generations, from a humble home in France to Australia.<br/><br/>I would need a couple visits to devour their stuffs; pastries, cakes, breads and what else.<br/><br/>The only things that needs re-working is their coffee (it's above average), apart from that, all glorious Melbourne wet day.
Fifi Dee
This place is overrated. I went especially for the ludicrously-priced hot cross buns and couldn't tell them apart from a generic supermarket brand. The almond croissant also tasted terribly stale. Service staff were unjustly pretentious, aloof and seemed to resent interacting with customers. Feel like I've been ripped off.
Who Loves Good Food
Good coffee<br/>Love the sugar loaded Danish pastries & croissants for breakfast. They have a good selection of savoury breads & rolls too but I have more of a sweet tooth.
Green Bay Tree
Was here today for brekkie. The chicken baguette was not too heavy and almond croissant was light and buttery. The bread & pastry display reminded me of the many boulangeries that I had visited in France. I had a good strong coffee and overall I loved the bread. Will try the opera cake next!
RaniRaj
Beautiful and light French pastries and their mini cakes were just divine. Reminds me of Laurent. But this is my local and I don't have to travel and far.
Signor-Gastronomico
Went here for brunch. We got the cheese and spinach pastry and the Brie vegetarian baguette accompanied by chai lattes. They were both wonderful. Generous amount of Brie and the pastry was crunchy but flavoursome. The chai lattes were faultless and not overly sweet. We also ordered a jam donut and a cherry Danish. Both were small but sweet and delicate. It's a good place, tad pricy but I guess what you get is good quality and atmosphere. I would go again sometime. <br/>

Charming bakery cafe! I came here because ive been mad about the australian open tennis this year and they had little tennis ball cakes here while the open was on! It was delicious! And i admired the artistry of it! I looked like a tennis ball and even jad coconut on the outside to make it look furry! :)<br/>I also had the croque monsieur! My first time having one. Delish!! It has this white sauce in it like lasagna :D<br/>The place itself is just charming! Can wait to come back to try other things :)

The service here is awful. Very slow, almost as though all the staff have no prior hospitality or service experience. Usually the coffee us very good, however, I just had a terrible one this morning as the normal barista was not there. Thankfully the food is really good.
Food Jerk
The bignets is the thing to try here. Now I don't have to travel all the way to Port Melbourne. Lovely service, fresh bread and pastries everyday. Just need to work on the coffee. Need more quality for the price you pay isn't worth it.
Iggy
Yummy cake and beautifully decorated, it's a shame it has to be eaten :) The coffee is good too. Fave place to hang out and have a cake or 2 with friends and families.
David Food Leasing
Do: an assortment of small pastries. The almond croissant was a standout, as well as the the hot jam donut. <br/><br/>Don't: stop at the first counter. There's a savoury counter to the rear. <br/><br/>Tip: the coffee here is great too.
Norlin Mustapha
Lovely coffee and the pastries were to die for.  While the staff were ok, they did look a tad bit tired though (no smiles, and looked like they'd rather not be there).  Not to say that they didn't serve you, just not as enthusiastic - or maybe just that one girl? <br/><br/>Overall, I didn't mind the food or the place.  Served good food at pretty reasonable prices.
Keen For Cuisine
Was so excited when Noisette opened on centre road, a local option for rich and decadent desserts as well as some artisan bread. Perfect place to sit in the sun outside and enjoy a coffee and cake! And the croissants are to die for!
Sharna Lee
Great staff, lovely layout, good coffee and cakes and pastries to die for! The staff always go out of their way to make you feel welcome and the food is delicious. One of my favourites for a cheeky almond croissant.

I don't want to make this personally. So, i will write everything based on the facts.<br/>The coffee and food there, actually its not bad.<br/><br/>So, before i met such a terrible customer service i will go there regularly and will not write a bad review, at least.<br/>However, i think, is the manager there at Bentleigh store, was really really rude to me.<br/><br/>This shop has a free wifi, at least it doesn't has a password, which i think its free for customers to use. Even though, i didn't use it. The manager came to me and asked me if i use the wifi there. And told me i am using the electricity there for charging my computer. Okay, i am as a customer even cannot use your shop's internet and electricity. <br/><br/>What can i say, can't i stay a while at your shop for my study? if your shop was busy, of course, i will leave without your ask. But it is not. The manager told me if i want to do my work, go home. That's funny. i just want a comfort sat afternoon, having a coffee and some dessert while studying. <br/><br/>Anyway, if you permit your employee can behave like this, or you think he is doing the right thing, All right, Best wish to your business.<br/><br/>Whatever, i will never go back to this shop. Just because the attitude they showed to me.

Always happy once I step inside this store and always been happier once I stepped out, it's always great service, great Pattiserie, great coffee and great bread! My French friend said the atmosphere feels like Paris
Sharon
A little pricey but great French baked goods. The chicken baguette is my favourite. Great quality and fresh ingredients as well as a nice decor and vibe
Urban Foodie
Was disappointed with the service I received this morning - the pastries were cold and the chai tea took almost 15 minutes to arrive after the pastries were served. There were plenty of staff and it was practically empty at that time of the morning. The staff seemed lost when I queried the delay.
Bailiefloyd
Went here the other day for coffee/ hot chocolates with my sisters after a footy game. Stood around for ages waiting to be served and the server didn't really know prices and miss charged us twice. Nor did she ask if we wanted it have here or away for kids or adults. The croissants were nice but a bit over prices. Coffee was good but a bit on the colder side. <br/>I love the bread but the service lets this place down.

Hard to go past the buttery pastries!<br/>Warm and cosy setting, and free WiFi :)<br/><br/>My review needs to be 140 characters?<br/>Well...  Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. I've always enjoyed Noisette when I went at Port Melbourne so was thrilled when it opened in Bentleigh. Like the original, this cafe has baked goods including croissants (some of the best), baguettes (chewy and flavoursome), filled rolls (decent sized), macarons, cakes and eclairs. They also make the usual coffees and drinks however I am there for the food!<br/>The share table at the back is big and roomy but I feel the individual tables could be a bit bigger as you wouldn't want to try to fit more than two people on one.
Cafe Talk
Have been three times with different local people. Service is unprofessional, not rude, they just need hospitality training.<br/>Mothers wheeling prams struggling to open the door all the while the staff chatting amongst themselves ignoring it all...<br/>This time had lunch with a local person who eats out on Centre Road, daily.<br/>I ordered a mini roll with vegies and when it came it had 2 postage sized pieces of something! with a smell of smoked salmon.!!Inexcusable. I informed a person who was incharge? and he thanked me for the info. Now anyone in this line of work knows better than that! That's not the way to correct this.<br/>Anyway had an average coffee with pleasant cake to follow.<br/>Not going back.
EatToLive
Another great addition to Bentleigh in 2015. These guys are behind the scenes, supplying quality breads to some popular cafes in Melbourne especially around bayside. My family has been regulars at Port Melbourne front-store for years and I can assure you that they know what they're doing. Great breads, great coffee and lovely lovely customer service. I also love the fit-out here. It's just nice, modern and slick. It could be noisy during peak times just because they're getting more popular now. Highly recommended.
AaronN
Average lunch, the prosciutto and cheese sandwich and sausage roll was hardly spectacular. The saving grace was the dessert which was good (chocolate and salted caramel eclairs and donuts).

Well I love it. I know there are probably teething probs for a new place but they haven't hit me. I have been coming during the week which is much better for anywhere coffee/cake. Lovely service, food & coffee & promptness even now on a Saturday morning when the place is pumping! Merci bien pour tout!
Deanpcgmr
Bad coffee, bad food, bad staff. Went there today, food took ages to arrive, the coffee was absolutely toxic, the sandwhich was freezing cold and dry, and the muffin was certainly more than a day old. Staff thought it was blueberrie which I ordered but it was actually chocolate. They apologized so much to the point where it got annoying. Not at all impressed.
