Delicious, authentic Italian pizza in Bentleigh! I ordered the margarita and del bosco, both vegetarian online, plus a tiramisu. You can choose your pick-up time online and the food was ready when I arrived.
Both pizzas are a good size, larger than I expected. The price is also excellent value for money.
The margarita pizza was my favourite. Full of flavour with a delicious chewy crust.
The del bosco was surprisingly tasty. Vegetarian pizzas can lack flavour but this was not the case with the del bosco.
The tiramisu was also a generous serve for the price. It was smooth and creamy, although with a couple of watery pockets.
I’d skip the tiramisu next time but will definitely order pizza from here again.
Can’t believe I’ve driven past for so many years and not been. Please don’t go here as it has limited seating and if I can’t get a reservation every time I want to come here it will be a disaster.

The elements of this restaurant made me feel nolstalgic of my dining experiences in Rome. Warm friendly staff, cosy layout, and of course, pizza made the way it should be - thin crusted, topped with fresh ingredients, and made with passion.
This place makes you feel like you’re in Italy.
It’s quite small and intimate but don’t let that deter you, the staff are friendly, the food comes out quickly and most importantly, the food is fresh and amazing.

Good base, can't get busy as it's a small place but it works, fresh produce, great base (hardest past about a pizza in my opinion) cheese can be a bit runny but very enjoyable if you can eat it all to together.
What a little gem we have found! Love the intimate setting. Authentic Italian pizza with delicious gourmet toppings. Love that they cater for the bambini’s and they get a cute rabbit head pizza. Staff are so friendly & accomodating. Can’t wait to come back again!! Especially in the summer sitting outside! Ciao until then!

This restaurant is one of the best wood fire pizza restaurants in Melbourne. Truly authentic the pizzas taste like they are made with only the best ingredients. They’re truly fantastic. One day I’ll try eat in instead of take away - for now I am happy doing 15 min drive each way to get good pizza

Amazing pizza and wonderful service, definitely would highly recommend for authentic Italian pizza, we have had nearly every pizza on the menu and can not fault any of them, always made with fresh quality ingredients, and the base is just delicious!
We had the garlic focaccia and the vesouvio with wine and the Nutella calzone. We left wanting more. The pizza isn’t heavy and it’s traditional to a T. This was the best pizza I have ever had. From the first dish i just trusted that every dish is a delight. We will def be back for more.

Most of Da Massimo's orders seem to be for takeout rather than dine in. We still decided to sit down & enjoy the meal, watching them put pizzas into the fire. Loved the garlic focaccia. We had 2 pizzas - Margherita & Capri. They are thin but the center is quite soft. Can't imagine if they will still be nice if we took away. The lasagna & cannelloni were nice.

It's tiny and downstairs is dominated by the oven. It focuses almost exclusively on pizza. It sticks to its knitting and it shows. We've eaten in and had some takeaway which I suspect is their main revenue source.
We've enjoyed each time though on the first occasion the pizza bottom was a tad soft. More recently, I ate Pizza Spaccanapoli. A hat tip to the famous, UNESCO protected street in Naples and some would argue, the home of the first Margherita pie baked by Signor Esposito in 1889. However, my Pie had San Marsano, Italian sausage, Fiore de latte, chilli and greens. Incredibly tasty, nicely smoky and the slices passed the fold test. And some interesting and tasty Leopard Spotting on the crust.
The claim is that they use the very best ingredients. San Marsano tomatoes, imported Buffalo Mozzarella. Quality EVOO. The end result is a great pizza at a very competitive price.

Absolutely hands down the best pizza in Melbourne.
Base is thin and just melts in your mouth, the way a good base should be. Perfect topping combos and just the right amount of ingredients. Great find in the Eastern Suburbs, if you haven't visited Di Massimo yet do yourself a favour!! Will be back.
YASSSS, this is restaurant one of my favorite new discoveries!!! Finally a local pizzeria that serves up some beautiful italian pizza. I no longer have to travel to get my quality pizza fix! The pizzas contained quality ingredients and the base was thin, just how it should be
The pizza did everything it was meant to. Tasted delicious, perfect size. Not sure why there are people on the site are trying to tell them how much salt to use, less is more in my opinion. You can always add salt if need be. Unnecessary though, the flavour was great. Ordered the spaccanapoli for my quiet night in and it didn't disappoint.
Hands down best pizza in Melbourne. Big statement I know. Put these proud Italians to the test. You won't be disappointed. Dough is light and flavoursome. Toppings are gourmet and the combinations are win.
First time at Da Massimo last night - fantastic pizza - my husband travels to Italy a few times a year for work and gave his margarita with ham 10/10 ! Brilliant and will be back again soon MOLTO BENE
Authentic Italian pizza - best I have had outside Italy. Loved the brochure which discusses all the ingredients and where they originated from. The pizza dough was elastic, springy and soft. It wasn't oily. The cheese was exceptional.
Near perfect pizza. Quality toppings and delicious wood fired base. Felt like we were in Italy. Couldn't find any drinks on the delivery menu but this could be my oversight. Would definitely recommend.
You'll get fresh, authentic pizza at a doable price, but be weary of wait times, especially over the weekend.
After driving down to collect pick up, we waited another 30+ minutes as they were swamped.
Just before they gave us our pizza one of the blokes handed us two free drinks for waiting so patiently - they do care about their customers. I'd go back.
The staff there are genuinely good people.

Saturday night pizza cravings took me to Da Massimo for the first time as I'm a local.
All my partner and I felt like was good authentic woodfired pizza, and that's exactly what we got.
Beautiful, fresh ingredients made for amazing takeaway pizzas.
It took a little longer than the 20 minutes stated but it was 100% worth the extra 10 minute wait.
Will definitely be back.

Stumbled across this little gem, pizzas so good they are truly italian truly wood fired and absolutely bloody delicious, really did take me back to a little Roman pizzeria. Yum yum yum
Ordered Ischia and Isabella pizzas along with Garlic Focaccia.. Really liked the pizzas, specially the Ischia pizza which had a nice well balanced taste. Isabella was a bit too Salty for my liking, might have something to do with the toppings but something that needs to get noticed by them. Focaccia was nice and simple although tasty. Will go again.
This place is DA best! But in all seriousness - this is the real deal. Authentic Italian pizza with high quality ingredients. None of that bastardised Aussie style fast food pizza. Classic flavours, simple toppings and beautiful thin bases. 10/10!!

Love the pizzas! Super fresh. Only down fall is that it is cash only and the pizzas are quite small for the price that you are paying. Changing the size and allowing card would be a big improvement
Have just moved into McKinnon so have been trying the local pizza places. This place is one of the better ones with a real wood fired oven, good quality ingredients and reasonably priced. The only suggestion for te guys there, which might seem odd to some people, is to use less toppings. You are putting too much on and as a result the ingredients under the top layer tend to steam and make the base in the middle soggy. If you use a bit less I think you would have a fantastic pizza. Service is good, the online ordering with wait time makes the whole process easy. Keep it up guys just a bit lighter with the toppings.
Top pizza!. We average a pizza from here about once a month. We usually have the Ischia, because I always order and I love mushrooms. We have also had the Posillipo, which was very good, but were disappointed with the Vesuvio which carries the warning that it has a bit of bite, but was really quite mild.
If you like thin crust woodfired pizza, then this place is worth trying. Love the online ordering system.

I only came across this place on the Internet by sheer chance tonight. The pics on the site looked great so I thought I'd give it a go. Ordered online easily and paid. I decided after paying to add dessert. I went in and the place was nice and the guys very friendly. I then found out it was only cash and I only had card. The lovely man gave me my dessert calzone for free! Bless. The pizza was amazing and that margherita is to die for as was the chocolate and marshmallow calzone. Will be back very soon!
Best by far in Bentleigh area!. I had ben wishing for a good napoli-style pizzeria near my house - Bentleigh is not a winning place for dining out, or even takeaway, but hey presto here is Da massimo - they even have online ordering and I could choose which ingredients to have extra - fior di latte, tomato sugo, olives, pumpkin and rocket were my choice, on a crispy, wood-fired base which was being re-fueled as I watched
No really, give this place a go, the pizza is delightful if you like a proper napoli pizza - not the stodgy kind but the lovely soft yet crisp kind that you never want to stop eating

Outstanding. I had walked and driven past Da Massimo hundreds of times and thought "I must try that place". When I did, I wondered why it took me so long. The best pizza I have found in Melbourne. It is wood fired to perfection. The base is perfectly crusted and the flavours are outstanding. Local fave !

Pizza Supreme!. I would rate this small, suburban pizza shop as one of the best in Melbourne. Sublime cheeses... sumptuous bases and fresh, healthy toppings. Seriously tasty.
Not only that, their new website has got to be one of the best I've seen. Easy to order and has just the right amount of information .. and now they accept credit cards.
Don't forget to try their chocolate calzone. Its special.

We dined-in at this restaurant as a couple.
We have a couple of points that we hope the restaurant would take into account as we would like an opportunity to come back for another try.
1. The table for two was right at the entrance, where all diners would come through, pay bills and delivery and takeaway pick-up was taking place. It didn’t offer for any nice ambience or atmosphere for our romantic date and was a bit awkward. Gladly, we were able to relocate to the bar area (separate entrance at the back). It would be amazing to have more tables for two that are not bar area or located by the entrance.
2. We had a lovely experience at the bar area and the bartender was lovely. We would however note that the staff/waitresses were chatting and laughing amongst themselves quite loudly, which again doesn’t help to set a nice mood or atmosphere. There is absolutely no issue with having fun at work (as we would all love to), but perhaps staff should be more mindful of quests dining in.
Otherwise, food was tasty and cocktails were delicious (we didn’t stop at just one as planned).

Beautiful dining experience!
I celebrated my birthday last night with two close friends at Da Giuseppe and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I had booked the morning prior and actually chose the wrong date accidentally but it was easy to modify the reservation myself online with no issue.
We arrived at 6:45pm and they allow for 1.5 hours to dine which we thought was appropriate. Our host greeted us warmly, if not mistaken I believe his name was Sal, and we were sat at a table in the bar section of the restaurant.
They have two areas either the bar or pizzeria but we enjoyed the bar and there were options to sit up on the actual bar or tables nearby.
The host handed us menus promptly and revealed a large selection of pizza, pasta and others which all sounded delicious.
We decided on the Margherita and Masaniello pizzas and the Gnocchi Napoli pasta. The pizzas came out very quickly and shortly after the gnocchi arrived. Our favourite definitely was the Margherita, the bottom was crispy with great crunch and flavour and the cheese and tomato base was cooked beautifully. The base wasn't too thin and the crust was nice and puffy.
The gnocchi was velvety soft and the napoli sauce was rich but not overbearing.
I also ordered a celebratory cosmopolitan cocktail which was presently nicely with great colour. Our host was very kind and added a bit extra so it was quite potent.
I also wanted to add that the host joined in the festivities by happily donning a party hat as well and that made me very happy they were open to celebrating with us and even one of the chefs joined in! Made for a fun and memorable experience that topped off the night.
I thoroughly enjoyed the dinner and would recommend Da Giuseppe to anyone seeking great Italian cuisine accompanied by gracious hospitality.
I am looking forward to future visits.
Wow this little restaurant is so fantastic! We booked a table in the tiny back bar and had two delicious pizzas. Staff were friendly and lovely. I will definitely be back! :-)
This is our favourite local Italian restaurant. The food never disappoints and they nail the basics like bolognese and carbonara. Our favourite item on the menu however, is the garlic, rosemary and olive oil focaccia. The restaurant is limited in space and seating, so bookings are essential.
Delicious fresh ingredients! Yummy pizza and pasta! Warm and friendly service. We will be back again.
We booked for 4 people, and the service, food and cocktails were amazing. All of us loved it, and couldn't fault Da Giuseppe! We ordered, pizza, pasta and risotto, and authentically and perfectly made and absolutely delicious. The cocktails were also superb, and the service to ordering the food and the bar tender, we could not fault. Thanks so much, we have rebooked, and cannot wait for our next dine in experience.
